Big Sur River Inn  

The restaurant was great. Nice atmosphere and good food.

The cabins were super rustic--across the road and isolated from the restaurant.

Really enjoyed the rustic location. The food at the restaurant was delicious.

Lovely spot along the river, but the room was dark and only in Big Sur could an Inn charge that much for so little.

My reservation through booking.com was not received and I had to pay for the room twice. Now, I'll be one of those customers who has to deal with a reimbursement.

I thought that I paid a lot for what I got. It was a bit funky and homespun, which was a bit charming, but everything was from Home Depot.

Room facilities were poor and when we stayed the hotel restaurant was closed. It would have been nice if they had told us that when we booked! If you even wanted a coffee you had to go to the general store to get it and outside their opening hours you went without

OLD. Holes in bathroom walls. Strong mildew odor. Paper thin walls. Neighbors kept us up all night. No help from management. Do you want me to go on?

Great location right off the river nestled in the forest, with beautiful grounds.

When we arrived at 6 PM the staff had gone home. We got a key from the restaurant. We tried to find our room up some very dark slippery steps. There was literally NO LIGHT at the top of the stairs and no light to find the keyhole in the door. It was not safe. My granddaughter and I both nearly slipped on the stairs.

We booked this hotel to be close to nature during our coastal drive, unfortunately the weather was bad so we really couldn't enjoy the hotel grounds. The room was comfortable but there is no tv there, presumably due to lack of reception. Wifi was only available in the main hotel. (rooms or across the road). It was easy to find on the main highway. Food and drink in the hotel were a bit pricey for us but there is a general store next door selling a wide range of reasonably priced goods including coffee and burritos. There is also a pub nearby serving a wide range of beers on tap and a good selection of food. The burgers were really good. Just sorry we didn't see the hotel in the sunshine.

It had everything we needed for an overnight stop on the way to Point Reyes from Orange County

Homey, woodsy feel. All staff were exceptionally friendly, courteous, helpful.

No hair dryer in room.

Cheap, easy to find and get to, lovely location, brilliant staff. Good food at the restaurant
