Great location, quiet, easy access from vehicle, small Inn, easy access to the one business street, very, very nice
I would have to be real picky to think of something I didn't like and even then it was very nice
the room decor was interesting. It was clean, cozy and comfortable. It was right downtown.
I was confused about the booking. I thought I was going to have a different room.
This hotel’s public marketing claims are untrue. Trash all around, dirty old carpet, smelly, ash treys everywhere when we arrived. No one was on duty after 6:30 p.m. and all the hotel’s public spaces and entrances were locked shut by that time. Owner/manager was away and you had to call her on her cell phone "in case of emergency." A notice on the front door from the owner said she was retired but could be found up at the bar. I called the number she had posted on the sign inside her locked hotel front door, and no one answered even though I let it ring about 15 times. (The elderly lady who showed us to our room at the back of the decrepit building said the owner was away with guests.) The bar and restaurant were closed on Wednesday night before Labor Day weekend. Even during "winter" season the notice taped to the hotel's front door claimed that the bar and restaurant were open on Wednesday through Saturdays. In fact, this "high season" Wednesday evening, there was no room service as advertised. At 6:30 pm the door to the lobby, was locked and you could not even get into the reception area, bar or restaurant. When I went around to the side metal gate there was a sheet of plywood blocking access to the outside circular stairs up to the upstairs "garden" bar and restaurant. There was no phone in the room. The TV was a very old non-digital one with no remote in the room. There was no free public parking on site, as a reasonable person would construe that claim. There was a gravel space off of someone else's driveway that was too small to park a pickup without sticking out and blocking access to the house at the end of the driveway. Casement windows did not open and the cranks had been removed. Draperies when closed covered the A/C unit. Paint and wallpaper were peeling in bathroom. Draperies when closed completely covered the A/C unit. Lukewarm water only for tub in evening.
Very quiet and comfortable.
We took over the Swan River Inn for two days for our son's wedding, with babies through grandparents filling almost all the rooms. We could peak into all the spaces and see how creative and unique every room was. Margrite even catered the wedding dinner after preparing the rooftop for the small family wedding, since rain and stormy weather kept us from heading to Wild Horse Island as planned. What a joyous experience it was for all of us, due in large part to the wonderful generosity and spirit of the owner.
I was there as a part of a wedding party, and found the attitude, atmosphere and service to be over the top ... could not have asked for a better response to the occasion.
Some of the fixtures ... lights and plumbing ... need to be checked out and taken care of.
The inn was right in the middle of town on the lake. It had what was like little apartment around the back of the restaurant. Beautiful rooms, comfortable clean and a bed and breakfast decor, with amazing antiques. But not like a bed and breakfast at all because the rooms where large and a huge bathroom and privacy. And the price was so reasonable!!!
This is one of the most exciting and relaxing places that i have ever stayed in , compares to going to Hawaii or San Diego for beauty and peace and quiet. We will certainly be back.
The only dissapointing thing was the restaurant was closed but we know it is the off season.
Swan River Inn has a nice location and the differently themed rooms/suites are a nice touch.
If one would like to use the suite's please note they do not necessarily come with large enough garbage bins.
Loved sitting by the fireplace, sipping on wine and watching the sunset, while visiting with fellow people!! The Best night ever! Feels very homey! The room was very nice also! Great people and a Great place to stay!! We will be back!
What I said.
The room was very comfortable with a bed that was good for sleeping. Unique features such as a sink that looked like a small tub or watering trough. Located near the Flathead Lake and Glacier National Park.
The innkeeper was seen only once by chance. Check in and check out done without need of innkeeper. We choose B&B type of facilities because of the interaction.
Margarite is a great hostess and excellent cook! When the room we booked on line with booking.com didn't match her records she made it work so we got what we needed. Not exactly, but enough to make us happy. We would return!
Booking.com and hotel need to keep better track of what's available and actual accommodations that the hotel has.
The location on the lake. Access to town beautiful spacious room and very helpful staff. Great stay.
Leather and Lace was a very unique room. Clean, great bathroom, small kitchen area with microwave and fridge. Outside terrace with lovely views. Owner was lovely and very welcoming.
I liked everything
We enjoyed our stay - far to short - I will choose the Inn definitely in the future again. Great room - loved it!!!!!!!!!!
Well appointed and spacious. The comments book is worth reading.
Very poor air quality. Several steps to get in and more to get to the bathroom, so not a good place for seniors.
We stayed in the Log Cabin. Western theme perfect for the area in Montana. Great location in town. Pricy but worth it!
Front door lock was a little tricky.
Very quiet and close to all areas in downtown Bigfork
Great location. Very cute little town that has lots of nice little shops/galleries/restaurants.
I think for the price a few nicely arranged tea bags would be in order. For what you are paying there should be a few things included ie herbal tea bags. Everything is just stuffed into a tiny bowl??? Not great for $200 + / night.
Location. Great aesthetics.
Clean and well located to Big Fork shopping.
Old feel! Beds average, Staff unfriendly.
The facility is old and run down. They say they provide wonderful dining but the locals say the place was closed by the health department for uncleanliness. We have traveled to several continents and never have run across a facility that leaves used toiletry items in the bathroom! We checked into the room and after 2 hours we left!! We contacted the owner as to why we left and received NO response whatsoever? Extremely disappointed!!!
The view is really the only thing I can say!
Check in process was a joke! You had no clue where the front door was. Then walked up filthy stairs into a restaurant. Check in at the bar. The room we had booked was supposed to be a king suite. Thinking we have a king bed, right? Wrong! The owner said king suite meant it was a deluxe room. Named the Victorian room. Fainting couch, queen bed, all antiques. The "closet" was a walk in with built in cupboards. It smelt so moldy!! Also a door connecting to the other room, but no way to lock it from our side. Huge bathroom with faded green towels. You know they weren't bleached!! Shampoo, lotion and conditioner were all half full, obviously used by someone else. I did not feel comfortable at all!!! Not 4 star worthy and not $200!! Never again!! Don't waste your money!!
I like how the rooms had different themes to them.
They need to mark the room better on how to get to them. A lot of money for this room
