The character of this old hotel was awesome. I loved the view from my window, of the city street. I live in the country now, and miss the city terribly, so I enjoyed hearing the sounds of the city. The staff was super friendly! I really enjoyed my stay, and would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants something a little different. So much charm and character!
It is a beautiful building with a charming and a bit shabby interior, which gives this hotel a personality. The location is lovely, very pretty down-town with old buildings and lots of private small restaurants. My room was very quite and comfortable to sleep. I had a large TV, but I have never used it. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
I liked everything, but maybe for some people who like all high tech and very new bathroom stuff it is not the right place. The breakfast was rather a snack with coffee, so I would not count on it if you like to start the day with a big meal.
The hotel has a lot of personality and very comfortable atmosphere. It's like staying at grandpa and grandma's house. The hotel's location is a few minutes walk from the light rail and bus stops.
The front door system and check in process need to be updated.
Cheap/ nice people and nice room
The heater was a bit noisy
It is a funny place, not as a hotel but as a historical building.
The breakfast finishes at 9 am. There was a rat in the garden. The hotel is really old
I was there from NC for a job interview and I loved it. I felt like I was in a small apartment. Just didn't have a kitchen. That king-size bed was awesome. I'll be going there again. The check-in person was so friendly.
I did not like having to park down the street in a hospital parking lot. Inconvenient and not safe.
We just wanted a bed each night and this served our purpose at an appropriate price
If you are easily intimidated the walk from downtown is dodgy, walking around homeless people and small groups just hanging about.
Bed was very comfortable
Too many steps for a senior citizen and no railing by the front steps to make it easier. Parking 3 blocks away.
--Arrived late at night and neighborhood is unsafe. Have to park 1 1/2 blocks away, and a security officer told me to be careful. Observed a drug deal and had to run the last half block as deranged man did a 180 and started following me. --The Hotel is extremely old and run down. My room was not clean. --There was a fire excape outside my window that someone could have come in through. --Front dest staff is rude.
The first night I arrived and felt the accommodations to be old but historic. Room was kind of dirty but I chalked it up to older furniture and walls, etc. Internet was fast and rooms were spacious.
The second morning I woke up itchy and kind of feeling like an allergy had hit - I thought maybe it was the old heating system and dust coming through. I felt that way all day. The second morning I noticed a few bites on my hands but since I had checked the mattress for bed bugs the first night (as I always do in all hotels) I thought maybe a spider or mosquito had gotten me. However, by the third morning I had bad bumps on my hands and face and that afternoon I rechecked the mattress fully (my first check was just a quick check between the mattresses). This time, I found a nest of bed bugs. DISGUSTING!!!! The hotel offered to move my room, but by the third evening I decided I couldn't stay there anymore. The manager did not agree to a complete refund and only refunded one of the three nights because "I didn't discover or report the problem until the 3rd night." The manager also indicated that this problem had "never happened before" but after it happened I checked other sites besides booking.com and discovered it to be a recurring problem at this establishment. I still cannot believe it. I had to pay to dry clean all of my clothes (precautionary because I DO NOT want to bring them to my home) and there was no offer by the hotel to help with that. While the manager was kind of apologetic, she also told me that it would be a major hassle for her to address the problem. Sorry, but that's her problem, not mine.
Nice room, great location and helpful staff. I will definitely use the Biltmore Suites Hotel for my next stay in Baltimore
-The room was gorgeous
-We were not informed about breakfast times -the lady at the reception was a bit grumpy, we did not feel welcome -parking at the hospital (usd 14 per day) -area is a bit shady...
the staff members are awesome
they should provide full breakfast and other meals (optional) even at a cost
Smoking. Someone always smoking approximately 7am,
Location. Free parking nearby on wrekend
Old and somewhat dirty
Well located. Good value. Will stay there again.
Worn carpets and paint made it look shabby, but if it got fixed up, they'd raise the prices and the funkiness would be lost.
Huge room with a very big sitting room. Ideal for relaxing. It doesn't belong to a chain, an hotel like in the old times.
We checked in around 8pm and the front desk man was really nice and helpful. Our room was clean, very spacious & had a fridge, microwave and flat tv. Because of the hotel's appearance in the outside we weren't expecting to have the commodities we did. The stay was great and good price compared the other hotels in the area.
Close to transportation and my conference site
Appears the floor was not vacuumed the 4 days I was there. Sheets were clean but visible dirt and stains on the bedspread
The folks that slammed this place to the ground were either complete curmudgeons or the types that prefer cookie-cutter motels like Holiday Inn or Motel 6. Sure, this place was not perfect, but it made up for those cosmetic imperfections with plenty of character. The room looked out onto a charming courtyard - very atmospheric. The lobby was beautiful and decorated with period antiques. We were able to store our bags in the office since checkout was at 11 am and we were not leaving Baltimore until 4:30 pm.
A rather crabby woman checked us in - perhaps the general manager. She did not tell us that the key was for the bottom lock and since it was not obvious, the key nearly got stuck in the wrong lock. Two people walked by who I believe were housekeeping staff and nearly bit our heads off for being so stupid. She also did not tell us that a password was required to access the free WiFi. She was a woman of very few words, and in fact, we were left to our own devices to figure things out. An outlet cover was pulling out of the wall with the electric cord exposed, the bathroom ceiling had missing pieces, and it looked like a gorilla spackled the bathtub. Good god, a 5-year old could do a better job with cake icing.
Room was very nice and comfortable.
the suites are beautiful. Nicely decorated Complementary coffee
The woman at the desk wasn't very nice (understatement)
The building as a whole is very old with little to no updates. The is no elevator and the stairway slants to the center. The room was large, but had huge cracks running down some of the walls and weak floor boards throughout. We didn't feel comfortable sleeping or even just being in the room. The staff were nice, but I would never stay here again.
The room was so much more than expected! Everything was perfect! Rooms were clean and room service cleaned and put fresh towels and trash bags each day we were there and the staff couldn't be nicer and so helpful
