Room decor was nice, big bathroom and very clean
Decor was out of date in main areas (dining room/bar). Food was overpriced
Bill & Mary went out of their way to make us feel welcome and the breakfasts were excellent. Rooms very good and great value for money
Could do with more breakfast options. Prefer a savoury choice. But what was on offer was tasty and obviously home cooked.
Selected Birch Ridge Inn as our base to explore beautiful Vermont and it certainly exceeded our expectations. Cannot praise the owners, Bill and Mary, enough for their great hospitality and local knowledge which was invaluable. The restaurant served the best food we had encountered in our visit to the USA - and we enjoyed dining there every night of our six day stay. A small comfortable hotel with personal service - we arrived as strangers and left as friends.
Nothing to not like
Great spot for a visit to mount Killington
This is a great place with only a small but friendly staff and very welcoming attitude. Visited during the fall foliage season and it was the perfect retreat from the road. Close to lots of restaurants and pubs as well as being right on the mountain, it has a lot to offer. Would recommend to friends and return again.
This is located perfectly half-way up Killington Road. Mary was very helpful showing us the layout of the room and also letting us know about the Gondola rides up at the peak. Enough parking for guests. Just don't drive through the 'covered driveway' unless you're driving a smallish car. I looked at it thinking it was the only way in, and that my truck wouldn't fit, but found there was another regular driveway in, just to the right of it. We didn't eat at the restaurant in the evening, but ventured into nearby Rutland which offers a selection of mainstream restaurants.
Although it was very clean, the decor definitely needs an update. It has a late 70s/80s feel to it. The breakfast is free, but would have preferred to have the option to have eggs with the bacon, not blueberry waffles. There were too many carbs being offered first thing in the morning - date/walnut bread, lemon poppyseed muffins, blueberry waffles with sides of bacon, banana and grapes.
Quiet! Very nice people! Great breakfast!
Dated...but no biggie!
the breakfast was wonderful
the room by the bar is quite noisy
Facilities were clean, and the staff was very well organized
Excellent service. Fantastic food and comfortable rooms. best place we have stayed at for a long time.
We liked everything! Charming structure and setting, in the woods, but just back from the main road. Comfortable, clean, well appointed room and bathroom-not luxurious but more than satisfactory A superb value for the price. Wonderful, friendly, helpful, accommodating owners. Delicious breakfast, though limited fare.
We felt there was nothing not to like.
Proprietors, Breakfast, Comfortable Room, Good variety of TV channels, Cozy bar
Phone didn't work well; automated numbers couldn't detect my responses. #3 doesn't work well.
The Inn was a great place to stay. Close to the mountains and hiking trails. The owners were very friendly and accomodating. The inn was very comfortable and felt like a home. It is definitely worth another visit!
Mary and Bill were the best. They made the whole experience wonderful. The food was 5 star plus and the room was very comfortable and very up-scale. We would return there if we are on the East Coast again. I cannot say enough about what a great stay we had and would recommend it to anyone.
