The staff was GREAT. Liked the view and the location.
The bathroom had showercap from a previous guest. The room was not the cleanest but do able. DID not like the smoke that came into our room. Believe it to be someone smoking pot on the lower level. Came away with a very bad headache. Also the breakfast was not the best at all!!

TV did not work correctly for the two days. The breakfast was fair at best. Worn carpet and furniture
Location and price.
Bed was awful. All towels smelled like smoke in a non smoking room. Carpet was never vacuumed and sheets never cleaned after a three night stay. Had to go but bar soap. They don't supply that at all.
Staff is great. Location on the island and price are awesome.
Noise from pool area and people staying there with barking dogs.

The location and how close it was to my meeting. Didn't have to travel far to and from conference.
1st day I checked in the remote control didn't work, 2nd day it still didn't work, 2nd day I got in, my room was open, either cleaning crew didn't close room or it someone else went in. 2nd night there were roaches in room and I wasn't offered a different room to stay. I was provided with bug spray......totally disgusted.
Very friendly and helpful front desk, beatiful sunset views from the balcony (bayview suite), got (but after request) a nice cooking ware set for the kitchenette. We stayed for finally 8 nights an can recommend the place. Very good value for money for South Padre Island
WiFi only reliable at daytime. When guests returned in the evening, WiFi was very slow and sometimes no conection possible. Basic breakfast, only sweet stuff. Even the Kellogs bran and raisins were missing (instead only two sweet cereals types avalable).
It was affordable
Renovations and cleaning crew way too noisy too early in the morning...banging doors and yelling that they were there to clean the rooms...seriously do they have to yell and wake up other clients who are there to stay for a couple of days...very inconsiderate
This was difference room than my reservation to be grade down.
I was on an unexpected last minute business trip and due to serveral unforeseen problems I became stranded in South Padre Island. I was very upsrt, 1000miles from home, alone, had very little cash on hand, didnt have my meds withme and I was extremrly upset crying and afraid. Tganks to my husband wiring me money and my best friend back home who booked my room I ended up at Blue Bay. Your staff was very helpful caring and curtious during this tough time. I want to thank you all, and I will be back with my family for a vacation and stay here again! Thanks again! Cindy M.

Room was not as pictured in photo. Kitchenette had no pots, plates, cups, glasses or silverware. Hot tub was broken and kept being told part would be in tomorrow ( we were there for 3 nights). Renovations going on; so hallways were lined with dirty equipment, mattresses and other odds and ends. You get what you pay for.

Breakfast only had cereal, waffles, and lots of donuts and packaged sweets...would have liked some fresh fruit or bagels. I was not used to being charged my full stay the day I arrived because I booked online. I was hesitant to have the hotel charge when I knew the room was already covered plus I wasn't used to the taxes and service charge that came with it because I've used booking.com twice before and the other hotels did not charge that nor my full stay upfront.
Location was easy to find and no problems with reservations, was a nice stay, would stay there again.
The location was pretty good. It was easy to find, just north of the causeway. We walked to the beach in ten minutes; drove in two minutes. There were plenty of shops around the hotel and places to eat. Staff was friendly and informative concerning drinking regulations for the island and where to eat/drink. Housekeepers were nice.
They didn't have the room we booked available for us when we arrived. (Told it was maintenance issues by one staff member, found out from another they had booked it to someone else). Replacement room was hot, not even comparable to the room booked. The room(s) were dirty, dusty, very dark. Light fixtures didn't work in both rooms. There was no ventilation/de-humidifer in bathrooms. Beds in first room were very hard. We got stuck in the elevator. It stopped working. When we got our room, it was for a disabled person, so our bathroom had a foldable seat, a tethered shower head with no mount and no water pressure. A lot of work materials (plywood, throw away t.v.s, tools, paints, mattresses) out in the open; very unnatractive.
