Great location, can walk everywhere. Very clean, friendly and inexpensive. Free wifi, breakfast and parking. Would stay again.

Thin walls, windows and door to room very unsecure, tiny breakfast and breakfast facilities.

Nice hotel very close to the lake although the lake is not seen from the hotel.

Reception didn't know anything about hiking paths or information on Lake Tahoe, bathroom light and room light not sufficient.

Extremely low budget and minimilist hotel. If you're not going to be in the room, except to sleep, this is a fair budget hotel, but that's about it. With tax, the one night stay was $48. There was new carpet, but even walking around in stocking or bare feet left the soles pretty darn dirty pretty darn fast. There is an opaque window on the room doors, so the super-bright exterior parking lot lights that blaze all night will shine into the room and if your sensitive to such ambient light, it will keep you awake. I was in room 250, on the upper level, near the top of the stairs, which are literally falling apart. When anyone walks on the stairs, the whole room shakes. This staircase has to be replaced, as it's dangerous to the point several of the cement stairs have rotted away to the point a fraction of them still exist. You can really hear everything going on in neighboring rooms. There is a major construction site across the street from the hotel, some kind of huge building, as of early May 2013, and construction noise for the next few years could be a really big pain in the butt. Overall, it's not a well-maintained hotel and it's really a shining example of 'no frills.'

Room Layout

Staff swindled me by taking my $48.10 cash payment at check-in in exchange for room keys at check-in, then simultaneously charging the same $48.10 to my bank card that I had only provided to booking.com for the purpose of holding the reservation. Essentially paying double. The women at the Lodge window then providing me with a receipt that upon further investigation shows a bank card # with on reference to the cash payment that had been provided. My trust in this method of lodging has been severely broken.

I thought it was cheap and cheerful, we only wanted somewhere to sleep on a trip through Lake Tahoe.

The room was cheep and nasty. There was a dreadful smell in our room the sheets and pillowcases were stained although they had been laundered. We were kept awake most of the night with the noise in the room above.

Nice staff. Comfy bed. Location. Price!!

Needs some updating. Only "problem" is that some of the guests were construction type guys & were out in parking lot @6am smoking, drinking coffee & yelling to each other. My room was on ground floor & they were right outside, so my wake- up was a little earlier tan planned. I thought they were rude but did not complain to management so it's not really the Blue Jay's fault

first room had a leaking problem with the toilet flushing water tank. the staff gave us another room right away. in the morning the same problem occured in the new room and the staff fixed it during the day. we've stayed one more day after these issues and everything was ok.

It was awesome small frig and freezer and microwave.I would book it again. My friends stayed at horizon. That place look Terrible inside. Walking distance to the casinos and Tahoe beach

Near Harvey's casino, which has a straw hat pizza location inside. Which was the main reason we went to tahoe

Jacuzzi water came out orange at first, fireplace didn't work, headboard fell off the wall while we were sleeping, and a hole in the wall. When we told management, their best answer was "oh". Another couple was in a regular room and they were checking out and they were complaining about the toilet that wouldn't stop overflowing and they didn't even offer them anything for the inconvenience.

location location location!!!

Incredible value, especially given its location- was able to get to Kirkwood, Alpine Meadows, and Squaw within an hour of the hotel. Facilities are sufficient, nothing fancy but still very comfortable and fairly modernized. Paid $80 to stay there for three nights, no how they were able to offer it for so cheap but hey, I'm not complaining!

Breakfast- glad that they offered it, but does every single thing offered have to be loaded with sugar? (Frosted Flakes, Smacks, Cap'n Crunch, Sunny d, Donuts... You get the idea). A start to the day like this is murder for sports enthusiasts.

I like how clean the rooms were. My sister and fiance had the spa room which was really nice and spacious. The lodge is within perfect walking distance to Harvey's and Harrah's.

Able to walk to any point of interest in ten minutes or less. Well, maybe not all interests, North Star is an hour away...

Extended television channel choice.

Room was clean, close to amenities. Parking was right in front. Suite was in an annex so very quiet-

No outlet for coffee maker. Tv had very limited channels. Blinds were broken.

Very lovely, quaint motel! Loved the place!
