In its April 2008 issue, National Geographic Traveler cites the Blue Moon as one of the best boutique and luxury hotels in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Carribean. The magazine's list includes 150 hotels selected from 600 semi-finalists. The Blue Moon is especially honored to be one of only three New York City hotels listed by the magazine.

This hotel leads the resurgence of the landmark old downtown neighborhoods of Chinatown, Little Italy, Soho, the Financial District. The hotel, an outstanding architectural structure, is centrally located on a museum block which more closely represents a back lot from MGM.

The hotel is located along cobble stone streets once occupied by push cart vendors, pickle packers, butchers, and bakers. Now, New York City’s historic past has come to life in the authentic yet modern and comfortable neighborhood hotel.

The Blue Moon Hotel boasts over sized luxurious rooms between 320 and 750 square feet, complete with lavish bathrooms with deep tubs, some with hydro massage baths, original walnut window shutters, built-in window settees, and all with ceilings 10 to 14 feet high. All rooms are named after legends of the 1920’s and 30’s, and feature historical memorabilia and state-of-the-art heat and air with individual thermostats.

All the guests can enjoy a complimentary glass of wine upon arrival and
all rooms get one complimentary gym pass valid for an entire day. The hotel also provides a discounted parking garage located two blocks away.

Food & beverage

Each room has a mini-bar containing bottled water and soft drinks, all available at an additional charge.

Room information

Each room features modern facilities and comforts including complimentary DVD library is available for guests’ enjoyment.

Rooms have a table and 2 chairs, a closet, a dresser, luxurious 300 thread count bed linen and custom-made bedspreads and pillows.

All rooms are en suite with beautiful, lavish private bathrooms with extra deep baths, hairdryers and a full range of bathroom amenities.

The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of New York’s most socially vibrant neighborhood; nearby attractions include Little Italy, Soho, Chinatown, the Tenement Museum, the new Museum of Modern Art, South Street Seaport, Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island, the Financial District, as well as theaters, galleries, historical houses of worship, or take any of the conveniently located trains: B, D, F, J, M, Z, and arrive in midtown in 5-10 minutes.
