Tavern Restaurant (on property) great food however waitress charged extra $10 tip to my card. Called 5x, left 4 voice-mails no response.
THE VALUE AND THE VIEW/PROXIMITY
THE TAVERN FOOD WAS A BIT PRICEY, AND OUR DINNER WASN'T SERVED QUITE HOT ENOUGH. (LIKE IT SAT THERE FOR A WHILE. WAITER WAS HARD TO FIND
View of the lake, the large bed, spacious cabin and the restaurant in The Tavern.
Would have liked to have armchairs in the cabin and a small fridge - there was plenty of room. The terrace outside would have been better at the end of the cabin where there is a lake view.
Loved that the Blue Water Manor was operated by a family and friends, rather than a chain. It felt very homey and slightly rustic with all the amenities. The brand new renovated room was very nicely appointed. The property is right on the lake and it had a fantastic and reasonable restaurant with lakeside dining. Lots to do nearby.
I would have loved an indoor pool.
Staff was very friendly and the room was clean. Our room overlooked the lake and the view was gorgeous!
The bed was slightly uncomfortable....but we really have no complaints.
Lighting poor for reading
The location in Bolton Landing was central, close to town but a little away from everything. Lovely view.
We stayed in a room that wasn't yet renovated and not only was it tiny, but there were cobwebs and spiders everywhere; the hot water ran out often; the shower curtain didn't cover the doorway so water leaked out, and so on. The waterfront area was down 50 uneven stone steps so anyone with small children or older people couldn't really use the lake. People rave about the restaurant but we went twice and thought the food was only average. Maybe once renovations are complete it will be better but until then I wouldn't go back.
We loved our room, it was so clean and comfortable, loved the fresh smell of the cedar woodwork! The location is perfect, just a few miles away from town. The rooms are spread out, its like a little village. The restaurant is right on the water, you feel like you're on top of the world, food and service were also great. Beautiful stone steps going down to new docks where you can swim or just hang out on a lounge chair.
The only thing we were missing was a small refrigerator.
The Tavern is great and the people adorable! The location is perfect.
My room was extremely expensive for the quality. No refrigerator, no coffee maker. The restaurant don't have the food they offer in the menu: no fruits for two days, no salmon for two days and they gave me lemon cake when I ask for NY cheesecake. They need people in the office 24 hours or late night in case of late check-in but the girl was so nice to call me and wait for me. They need a bar in the deck.
Location. The place has potential once renovations are completed. Desk staff were very nice.
The two bedroom green cottage was not yet refurbished. It was dreary and depressing. We were put in another two bedroom with a view of the water, which was an improvement however door was rotten.
Room was small & old
Very nice people to deal with, i.e., regarding accommodations, waitstaff at Tavern on the Lake. Food and atmosphere at restaurant were great!
No ice or soda machines available but we understand the renovations going on for the next few years so not quite set up yet for these things and look forward to visiting again.
Restaurant was very nice - good food.
They never should have rented the non-remodelled units!! Bed was old, 2 feet off the floor, and hard as a rock!! Staff did not clean the bathroom! Terrible experience!
48 years ago my husband and I met here waiting tables and entertaining in the Manor House. It was so good to be back seeing all the wonderful improvements. The new waterfront was busy with boats coming to eat lunch or dinner all day. The view of the bay is just like old times. We had the best vacation there. Food was wonderful too!
The view of the Lake was fantastic. We enjoyed our stay and went to the Tavern for our evening meal all 3 nights that we were there. We enjoyed the fireside sing-a-long and water activities. The cabin was ideal for us.
The view from our room was spectacular! Access to the lake and use of paddle boats, canoes and tandem kayak made up for the room that was very old and worn and has yet to be renovated like the rest of the lodges.
Sumac in some areas could be too close to guests. The bed was not comfortable so it interfered with my attempt to return home rested.
Great food at Tavern. Right on the Lake with kayaks & peddle boats for loan. Renovated cottage was very cozy.
Stay here at least once in your life! We loved everything
The first day of unrenovated room is very bad. After switching over to the newly renovated room, it is much better. You have to get the newly renovated room. All other services and location is great.
Canoing, nice view from restaurant.
fix up the tennis courts (or stop mentioning them in ads)
The recently refurbished cabins are very nice
The trolly to town is a myth
Beautiful location on the lake. Friendly staff. Clean room, sheets, & towels.
Unfortunately, we got a not-yet-remodelled room. Beds were hard, TV didn't work, tall weeds out in front of porch, just kinda creepy overall, for the price we paid.
We had a waterfront room with an amazing view of the lake (the hotel/restaurant is located on a cliff). There is a lovely dock area for boating and swimming.
I would not recommend this hotel for those looking for a quiet place to stay. The restaurant gets busy and noisy. The food was unfortunately not great (I ordered a salmon cake which was a brown substance with unrecognisable ingredients - perhaps from a can? - a pile of mayo on top) and the prices high. The waterfront rooms are in desperate need of renovation. You can smell the mold.
The reception staff were lovely and check-in was very easy. All the staff we encountered were cheerful and friendly. Our cabin was superb, the accommodations and restaurant were excellent, and it was very clean. The kayaks were an exceptional added value and I would recommend the Lodges at Blue Manor to all my friends and family. Kudos for a great stay!
The restaurant, servers & food
The sparseness of the room. No chairs, no folding luggage rack, no closet, iron or ironing board, hair dryer or extra towel. The coffee was minimal. The shampoo had been opened and used before our arrival. The soap bars were tiny. A used towel was left behind the door. Certainly the accommodations did not match even the lowest priced motels ie:,, Super 8, Motel 8 etc. The alarm clock was a joke. I understand that the new owners are in the process of rennovating. Therefore, I am assuming that the above will be remedied. Nevertheless, a poor value. Thank you for your attention to these comments!
