Bolger Hotel and Conference Center    

Walking/jogging trail with exercise stations, lovely grounds, breakfast buffet, friendliness and helpfulness of staff, quiet atmosphere. Location gives a feeling of countryside, while in fact you're only 10-20 minutes from everything.

The room was half the price of other "chain" hotels. It wasn't huge but for sleeping who cares? Clean, and quiet.

There was a fine room with a bed and bathroom. All the things I wanted. The desk clerk, Antonio, spent all the time necessary to solve the reservation problem. Due to the complication at check-in, I was provided with breakfast at no extra charge.

The reservation, apparently through no fault of the Bolger Hotel, was unknown to the desk. They would not have known the reservation had been booked if I hadn't presented a paper copy of the Booking.com confirmation. (Apparently the computer programs were not compatible.)

It's a beautiful location, and the prices are extraordinarily reasonable for that area.

The "single room" is very tiny and cramped. That made it hard for me to do work in the evening. Breakfast was only offered buffet-style. This if fine if that's what you want, but $12.00 is a bit steep if you just want a simple breakfast. I suggest using the Democracy Blvd entrance instead of New Bridge Drive. The latter is the address of the hotel, and given that your GPS will likely take you to that entrance. It's hard to find the hotel, itself, from the New Bridge Drive entrance.

I thought the proximity to DC was good. I also liked the staff and the grounds were beautiful.

I thought the pool was old looking and had rust stains on the walls. It was nice having free parking but we had to bring our bags a distance to our room.

Great Location

Upon arrival there was a leak in the bathroom. They were unable to fix so within an hour we were moved to another room, which was not as nice as the first room. So we were placed in a third room. In that room the television did not work and the fans did not work and the air would not cut on. The air was stale and dry because the heat had been on. We had to keep the windows open for the entire stay. The room looked lovely but most of the elements were not functioning.

(1) As usual, the staff at the Pony Express Lounge made everyone feel as if they were family. (2) The decor, service and quality of the restaurant was a refreshing surprise. This was my first opportunity to sample the buffet service. (3) The efficiency of the ground staff. Despite a late season, heavy snow, the ground staff kept the roads and sidewalks clear.

I can't think of anything negative for this stay.

Price Bar Staff

I have stated at the bc many times. My biggest complaint continues to be that no matter how big it small my room, the heat cannot be adjusted. Turn it off it comes back on. Turn temperature down, still receive that uncomfortable forced hot air. Really need to address this. I had an engineer reset the thermostat and it still go not help. Forced Hot Air Is the Worst.

From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the quiet competence of the staff, the comfort of the accomodations, and the affordability of the stay. Al these are in stark contrast to the noemal business Washington DC experience.

You over charged me the quoate was $507 for hree nights inclusive of tax - when I checked out it was $572 - I was very disapointed with this - I never added anything to room service.

No coffee table in suite.

Beautiful grounds, and 3 buildings full of history, with museum-type statues, exhibits in cases and other details of American history and history of the Post Office, for which it is a training centre. Nice warm pool, friendly staff, large room available with lots of computers; decent buffet meals.

The shuttle service was no use as it only started at 5 pm (as did the pool opening) and I couldn't find it at the Metro when I arrived - a taxi cost $22 and buses were very infrequent. So unless someone else is paying for your taxis or you have a car, it's pretty inaccessible. It's in the suburbs of DC (which suited me) and is very reasonably priced for the facilities, but convenient for Washington it isn't.

Price was decent.

7 mi. To Metro from hotel. Hotel shuttle doesn't run until 5pm on weekdays. Had to take taxi to Metro. Two people cost $20 for taxi & $11 for metro one way to Chinatown.. We had a ride home. Our other option was to drive from hotel to Metro and pay to park there.

too far from local transport connections. advertised shuttle bus only offers full schedule at weekends during the day, and in evenings during the week. the hotel should make clear that a car is essential.

Rooms were clean

We checked into the Osgood rm 316. Room was pleasant. Next day we checked with Ian at the front desk, and asked if we could have an upgrade to a largerr room. He kindly upgraded us to D406 in a newer wing. Room was nice ,but cold. I increased the setting on the thermostat and went to bed. Woke up at 2:00AM...freeezing. Room temperature down to 59 degrees. Called the desk. They said the heat for the whole complex was not on and was not scheduled to go on until Monday. I slept the rest of the night in long underwear , and extra blanket and a pillow over my head. The next morning I complained. They offered no solution except a space heater. We went out for the day. when we returned, we asked for a space heater and were told they didn't have any. We then asked to move back into the Osgood, because the buillding was warmer. They gave us room 316 again. No one offered a discount for the discomfort and inconvenience. No one offered to help us move back into the Osgood. We were told several guests had cancelled their reservations and moved out that day. I was very unhappy with the lack of heat, lack of sleep from the cold and especially the lack of response from the staff. I had stayed here a few months back and was vey pleased,but it is unlikely I will return after this experience. Dr. Timothy C. Moore

Spacious, expansive grounds with night lighting. Elegant and clean.

Good value for money and a peaceful quiet location.

Perfect for business travel, complimentary wi-fi that actually works, great restaurant, very reasonably priced buffet breakfast and dinner.
