We had dinner at Bouchard's 5-6 weeks ago and were so impressed we came back on 12/13/14. We stayed at the Inn because of the convenience and were delighted with both. Our dinner was outstanding! My husband had the duck breast and I had a cod special that was to die for. We shared the souffle for dessert and both wished we had ordered our own. The hot apple croissants for breakfast were a great to start the day. We will definitely be back.
This Inn was fantastic from the moment you stepped in you were greeted so warmly they couldn't do enough for us. For example an upgraded suite a romantic dining table by the fire complimentary glasses of champagne. Their restaurant was fabulous. We definetly can't wait to go back.
Location. Center of town. Near all shopping and restaurants.
Not enough lighting in bedroom
Proximity to the Newport Mansions, and the B&B ambiance. And the very fine restaurant right there. That helped a lot when the Nor'easter picked up and the rain came down.
Hoisting the bags up the steep back stairs; and the room was a little cramped -- King size bed takes up a lot of room.
the comort of the room and the beutifull harbour view. carmen, from the stuff, who were soo helpfull.
Great location in the middle of the city. Spacious room. Very tasty breakfast with (pastry, yoghurt, juice, coffee/tea) delivered behind the door. Friendly staff.
Nice room but a bit worn, especially bathroom. Some noise from the bar terrace next door.
We booked the room for a weekend getaway and were very pleased with the location, comfort and style of our room. The warm chocolate croissants were delicious!
waterside walk, near shops ,slight water view with sunset from my room, amazing apple turnovers for breakfast, real milk for coffee in room,oj
We were in town for a wedding. The inn was fabulous and the yummy pastries were an added bonus!
My husband and I enjoyed the great location of the Inn. Having a pub right next door was a bonus!
It was in the perfect location to see Newport! The breakfast was lovely as were the chairs and table in the room so we could sit and enjoy on another's company. It was also very newly renovated...
They didn't quite finish cleaning up from the renovation. There were stickers still on the windows (which could be cleaned) and some of the fixtures in the bathroom. The shower curtain was not attached properly and was dragging on the floor. There were problems with the window shades (necessary since there were so many great views of Thames St.). Overall, it was a good experience but could use a little extra attention to the smaller cleaning details.
Excellent location to explore the area on foot or by car. Useful car parking without hassle.
the food, the staff, the owners, the very very fresh breakfast pastries and yoghurt delivered to your door! the late night drinks bar.
the wifi was poor to start with, but was very good as soon as we explained its importance to us. I would not want a bedroom directly on thames st. ask for harbour house, its just one minute away and quiet.
Our stay was incredible. The bed was so luxurious,we slept unbelievably sound. The morning goodies were outstanding. We appreciated the beverages provided in room. Only wish we had a chance to dine in the restaurant. Next time, for sure.
We are a mature couple who are business people and world travelers. We carefully research our travel and are willing to pay a little more for quality, but also roll with the punches. As one of the first guests in the new building at Bouchard, we found a large, bright, clean room with all the necessary amenities. Yes, there is a little street noise, but it is located on the main street through town, close to restaurants, shops and attractions. For us, it was a good trade-off. But the true test of any business is how problems are handled when they arise (and there inevitably will be problems). When we had a glitch with our room and reported it, it was addressed quickly and with courtesy. The staff is friendly and helpful. We have no hesitancy in recommending the Bouchard Inn & Restaurant for quality, service and location. Their restaurant will be a must on our return. Our short stay and commitments didn't permit it. That was our only regret.
The location was very central. Could walk to downtown. Parking available also very handy. Room was nice. Would recommend it if you are aware upfront of drawbacks and could get a quiter room.
Breakfast was just yoghurt and a (good) danish. Expected more. Our room was on street side with a Irish pub on the left. Very noisy. Plastic shutters partly broken. Had to buy tape to close it. Price-quality did not match. However, Newport simply is an expensive area. So this could be the standard.
good size room decent closet staff very accommodating clean continental breakfast outside the room every morning. free coffee, water and juice
Pillows and linen were not of good quality. Only one waste paper basket in the room, should have on in the bathroom and one in the room Lighting in the bathroom wasn't very good The bed was unusually high
The fresh pastries were amazing. Kitchenette was nice. Overall, nice space that just needed a couple small tweaks to be perfect.
Toilet seat wouldn't stay up on its own. Doors to the hallway seemed a bit flimsy.
Location, breakfast pastries, room decor, complimentary parking
Room was a little small and could have had better lighting, AC was a tad loud
Comfort, service and convenience
High quality accommodation.
On Tuesdays, restaurant is shut and there are no staff after 6 pm. Breakfast of pastry and yogurt left outside room. Was not advised that restaurant would be shut until receiving an email on Monday evening: too late to change!
Everything was perfect.
Breakfast freshly baked delivered to room Outstanding restaurant
View non existent from room 5 and people passing by
Great location. We liked having lite breakfast delivered to the room. Restaurant a little pricey but excellent for dinner. We were in room separate from main building and it was very quiet.
