27th floor! Everything about it was great - view, snacks, friendly atmosphere (people talked to each other), good newspapers, and comfortaqble Rooms were well designed and comfortable. fitness and laundry rooms
I liked everything except the front was not clearly marked - are there two different names of the hotel??
I had booked a superior queen room and it was excellent. I had a small mix up with my booking but the staff sorted it out pretty quickly and professionally. The bed is super-comfy and lots of room (for NYC) to get my work done. On 27 Floor, there is an excellent facility - room to have meetings, get your printing done, have a complimentary cold drink. My room had basic kitchen facilities, which meant I didn't always have to go out. Hotel is located one block from the terrific Grand Central Station market with lots of ready to eat meals and wonderful salads. Would definitely recommend.
Kitchen facilities oddly stocked. I had two different rooms (two stays over two weeks) and in one room no sharp knives and in the other no glasses. Also no tea towels for drying dishes in either room. I'm sure if I had rung down to housekeeping I could have had those items sent up, but it would be nice to just have them.
I was very impressed by the location of the hotel as well as the cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere of the room.
I didn't like having to "argue" with the staff upon check in about the price and amenities of the room. I used a third party website to book my room and there were issues with the type of room that was booked. I am also disappointed that I have to call the hotel now that I'm back home because there are extra charges on my bill.
The room and the location
The location is near grand central, but it's not where to be for tourists. Look for other spots if visiting for first time.
The mattress was very poor quality. Every time my husband would turn around, it would wake me up. I could every move he made. Same for him. We travel a lot and this had never been as bad as here. I asked for an additional roll-in single bed the second night so I could get a bit of sleep. Room is very small. Fixed table is not convenient. It's set up as if you have a booth in a restaurant. Our window did not close properly (surprising for a recent hotel) so quite some traffic noise. TV reception terrible for 2 days. Reception blamed it on Timewarner. I lived in NY for 5 years and never had such issues for that long. I've had better value in financial district.
Location WiFi Accessibility
Noise on lower floor rooms
Close to center of manhattan. Just next to grand central station. Room was spacious and nice. Nothing was missing. Lobby has good space to spend time when needed. Front desk was simple small and enough needed being quick with hospitality.
Entrance was narrow and needs being careful when visiting first time. Front desk is located at 2nd floor going up with lift, next to steak restaurant..
The location was great with easy access to metro
The room was too small
Water bottlefilter machine on each floor. The bed was comfortable and liked the work ststion in my room.
Need to share iron and boards with others on floor. Confusing check-in. Delayed checkout.
Hotel is located very conveniently next to Grand Central Station. Both restaurants and shops for food very close by and open until 10p.m for sure Times Square in walking distance (15 min) as well as shopping mile Terrace on 27th floor is great
overpriced (location is great and terrace but rooms are only refurbished not new)
The location was good and the room was clean with a good t.v. and coffee maker in room.
Staff wouldn't make much of an impression! Very overpriced for a small room. Also a lot of extra charges at time of payment!
The 27th floor Club Living Room and outdoor terrace with great views!
Great location; very friendly staff; newly decorated roome, very clean; free wifi. Terrace/lounge on top floor with free coffee
Noise day and night from a ventilation shaft right in front of the window
Accessibility to transit, walkability of neighborhood, cleanliness, quiet, efficient, top floor guest facility with good view.
The front desk staff could have been a little more friendly.
The AC in the room was very noisy on last night but a very minor issue which I'm sure I mentioned would have been fixed.
Reception entrance is poor. No Breakfast facility
Great hotel. Good location, very modern and facilities generally good. BUT very poor clothes storage space in rooms. One small wardrobe only. No drawers. My husband and I lived out of our suitcases for 4 days! It was a problem!
Storage or lack of!
Very clean and well located. Easy check in and check out.
Location is pretty good!
Great location; great rooms and comfortable beds; great bathroom; great lounges on 2nd and 27th floors.... just great! Nice to be able to get cold drinking water from coolers on every floor. There was no bar or restaurant, but that did not matter, as so many places to go nearby, or you could bring in your own food and drink. The two hotel computers (Apple) worked well and it was easy to print.
- very clean - free/easy/stable wifi - fast check-in/out - location, very central, close to GC and airport shuttle - Pret a Manger, pizza and Le pain Quotidien round the corner - clean, cold water and bottles for free
- a bit of traffic noise on the lower floors. But thats NY. - no windows that opens
Convenience of the outdoor area on 27th floor. Excellent place to eat and have a drink and look at the view. Having access to computers and printer was great.
Snacks on the 27th floor wasn't topped up and no snacks were provided on the weekend. Apples a bit old.
Location is good and faciliteis of the room, hotel are great. The service of the staff are kind and friendly.
It is a bit noise, while my staying ,there is water dripping outside the window, had to change the room or can't sleep.
Close to Grand Central, and subways, quiet, ultra clean, and courteous staff who were helpful. Whether going to the U.S. Open, or seeing a Broadway show, it was a convenient location and a comfortable stay. We also liked the bottled water that was supplied.
We had to ask for more towels, and there wasn't enough coffee in what was supplied. One of the clerks who we asked about restaurants, was a little sarcastic, and then he supplied us with very limited information which was also incorrect.
