The price. My room overlooked the restaurant patio next door. Loud conversation continued until midnight each night.

Toiletries are elegant. Close to cafe/cleaner/restaurants/food market. The room is worn-out, I even saw wires coming out from beneath the carpet. The walls are dummy, so can hear sounds from adjacent rooms clearly. Pigeons knocking at the only window very early morning.

The hotel is walking distance to the White House, and the staff very very friendly. They advertise free wifi, however the connection is very poor on the 4th floor, unless you go into the corridor or in the lobby.

- Good location in the city - does what it has to do, give you a bed, warm water, toilet and tv. - breakfast was ok - Old hotel - Smelly in some places - Not safe to keep valuables (I didn't have any problems, but the door hardly shut. I even made a repair on the door myself to keep it locked)

The location was excellent. It's within walking distance of all major historical attractions in one direction and nightlife entertainment in the other direction. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room was spacious. For the location, the price could not be beat. The staff was very friendly, including front desk and even cleaning people. They always said good morning and inquired if all was well. You can tell the age of the building by the size of the elevator(fits 3-4 people max) and was a little rough around the edges (old looking sealing along sink/patchy paint in closet and on wall). Walls are paper thin, could clearly hear neighbors' tvs. Would not recommend to a couple unless they're not shy about others hearing.

I liked the location. Close enough to the convention center to hop on a shuttle and far enough away to avoid the maddening crowds. I also liked the bathroom. I didn't like going up the front stairs with my hip that needs surgery.

The room, size and comfort were satisfying. The breakfast was poor and when a vital thing as the bread run out there were none to refill it according to the receptionist. The area designated for eating (lobby) was small with low tables. When the tables were full of plates and leftovers from others I asked receptionist if it was possible to have someone clear a few seats for us, he then suggested we go upstairs instead. I don't think this is an adequate response and it would have been much nicer to help us get a seat.

I didn't like one thing about the place What a dump! Mold in the bathroom, not a secure hotel. I had to pay 35.00 to park in the alley behind the hotel. Just a terrible place to stay!

It was good that all the attractions were within walking distance, it was a few blocks away to get to the white house, easy to walk to, about 10-15mins max. The hotel was reasonably priced. There was also free breakfast each morning that I thought was going to be an additional cost but it was free to everyone and there was tea, coffee, juice, waffles, croissants, muffins, cereal and cakes. We were on the 2nd floor and never had a problem with the free wifi, we were always able to get online. The staff were very helpful and gave us guidance on buses, tubes and restaurants nearby. On p street (the next one up) there are some great restaurants, I'd especially recommend Stoneys. There was also a hairdryer in the room which was handy, because we forgot ours!

Your location - very convenient The breakfasts. I was told that breakfast ended at 9.30 am and when I came down at 8.50 all the pastries were gone, and not replenished. To be charge $5 for this is poor value.

friendly staff and convenient location to the Convention Center. the hotel in general, and the rooms in particular, could use a serious "face lift" and remodeling!

Good Location I had many problems. I had asked for a double room with two beds and when I got there I'd been given a double room with only one bed. They demanded I pay a supplement. The staff was terribly unhelpful. The internet did not work in the room and when I complained to the staff they were dismissive and unhelpful. Finally, on the last day a bag of food disappeared from the room right after the room service. I tried to put a formal complain on several occasions but was unable to speak to the manager. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

It was the cheapest one I've found on this site. And the beds were fine. The air I couldn't make refreshed. It was filled with lots of dusts so I really didn't wanna stay inside the room. I know most of the window of hotels cannot be opened, but it was the worst. No way to refresh the atmosphere at all.

It was a good deal. It was close to the center of Washington dc. The staff was helpful and friendly. The price was $45 more than quoted on the internet. I think that is Booking.coms fault. It did say that the taxes were included and then they weren'T. It's an old building so you can clean as much as you like, but it still looks old and a little dirty. The rooms are (carpet, walls, bathtub) very old and outdated. There are not enough seats for people to sit on during breakfast.

My room was very clean and comfortable. Felt safe as a solo traveller Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast consisted of a good selection of pastries, Woffles, and Cereals. Tea/Coffee and juice. Woken up at 5am by male guests talking loudly and slamming doors each time they went in/out of their room. I thought this was very in considerate as it is not normal to be so loud in a hotel in the early hours of the morning. Was disappointed not to find a kettle in the room. Had to keep going down to reception...very inconvenient. Could improve directions to the hotel. Not so easy to find when you get off the subway for the first time. Television signal was poor. Poor mobile reception
