I saw very mixed reviews and wasn't sure what to expect. Overall, it's a decent budget hotel. Don't expect a lot of amenities, but if all you need is a room in the city for under $200/night (hard to find), this is a good choice. Location is excellent, there are restaurants and stores all around and the Convention Center is in easy walking distance. Room was a little on the small side, but clean, comfortable and had some recent renovations (the bathroom looked new).
The WiFi does not work in the rooms, only in the lobby (even though my room was directly above the lobby). The heating/AC unit in the room was very loud and cycled on and off, so we had to turn it off to sleep.
I stayed there for 4 nights. Two of the nights the one elevator was out of order and I had to walk up 4 flights of stairs. I was under the impression free wifi was available in my room. It was not; only in the main lobby. When I tried it in the main lobby, I had problems connecting after a few minutes of it operating ok. The attendant was not helpful. The room had no space to hang clothing or anything, so basically I had to dump my clothes on top of my luggage.
Perfect Location!!! only 10 minutes walk to the White House and the Congress
The hotel was surprisely bad! The structure is not like in the pictures. The room was dirty and the service not good! The only good thing is the location!
It's closer to the white house than I thought while I read the map. I could walk to there with my young children. They gave me two double bed room as I left message in advance without any cost.
I hope there will be a electric kettle in the room.
The old looking of the wall and the doors paint
Don't move or you'll kick your partner in the face
This hotel is within walking distance to the white house and nearby attractions
Parking was scarce, there was only 4 parking spots that this hotel has.
No one says here: hi, how are you doing! Location is good 20 minutes of walking to whitehouse and mall, but make sure you check crime map before checkin. Red area starts next block.
Too old and haven't seen renovation for a while.
Location was excellent
Mattress had stains, took 2 days to get mini refrigerator as requested from day one. carpet was poorly managed
The hotel is located in a nice part of downtown, and breakfast is really excellent.
My room was a bit small. This is absolutely fine if one is staying for a couple of nights, but if one is attending a conference a larger and more comfortable room would be preferable. The other aspect to be borne in mind is that rooms are not sound-proof.
Reminds me of old style European hotels I stayed at when traveling in my 20's. Very basic, clean, safe and really inexpensive - fabulous location in hottest/hippest neighborhood in dc.
The hotel was cute and close to downtown.
The hotel was ok but there was a chicken bone on the ice machine tray during our entire four day stay. The first day we were gone our room for clean towels etc but wasn't vacuumed.
I liked the central location. Everything was in walking distance.
Rooms are very tiny, everything is old and dusty
the price the morning staff the location
the eerie vibe the small hallways the night staff
No boiler or tee pot in the room. Cramped space, I coudn't even open my suitcase The air conditioner was 10 inches above the pillow and bothered watching TV The night shift receptionist didn't want to tell me whether I can find buses or trains to go to Dulles airport
Location is good. It is clean but the building is old.
One of the receptionist is very cranky.
Cell like room.
Room look old
The location and the price. Excellent.
You get your money's worth. Don't expect the Ritz at $100 per night in this wonderful location. I'm easy to please so minor shortfalls were well worth saving $150 a night. The only things really poor: Spotty internet. No business center.
I love location and friendliness of staff
I did not like the carpet in my room it was torn and very old and I disliked the beds , terribly uncomfortable springs jamming in my back . I also dislike that the complimentary WiFi is unstable in rooms so you have to sit in lobby to get anything done.
Quite close to center. Comfortable room with ensuite bathroom. Good facilities. Coffee available all day!
Location conveniet to DC attractions if you like walking. Much better than driving around with the intense traffic. Did have standard cable. Good water pressure.
I had larger room for 350P Hostel in Philippines. Found previous guest hair hanging from lampshade. Wireless only in lobby. Not what expected from advertisement.
Free coffee and tea at all times. Free newspaper. Computers available.
Only one chair in the room. Could have used a second one. Could have used a listing of the television channels.
Honestly, the location and that's about it
The service, the cleaningless, EVERYTHING
This is primo location, you can't get much closer to down town then this, hotel was clean, room was small but for 99 bucks incredible value.
The noise sucks, alot, expect not to have a great sleep, bring noise canceling headphones and you should be perfect though!
