Score from 919 reviews Very good
The rooms weren't that sound proof and at times you could hear what was going on in the adjoining room or hallway! And of course I wish the weather was a little warmer, but nothing you can do about that!
After taking the 8 hr. bus tour of the town to get aquainted, it wasn't a bad walk to revisit other points of interests or even jump on the metro bus which was right around the corner on 14th street.
no place to hang clothes
Old and tired rooms. We had a ground floor room at the front of the hotel, very noisey.
Location was good.
There was no WiFi in the room, only in the lobby. My room was practically filled up with the bed. The window was tiny.
The staff was helpful. The location is relatively central.
The AC is a bit noisy. The first night i got there, i stayed in the room in the basement, it was terribly noisy from the next door facility room. And this room got roaches. Luckily, i complained and was replaced to another room the next day
Convenient to travel everywhere
I stayed in late March and all hotel prices seemed high. Maybe that explains why this seemed so expensive for such a bare bones, budget hotel. I have stayed in much nicer places in DC for less money (but at this time, those places were very pricey)
It was adequate, clean, good location.
Room was a box, and the wifi didn't work upstairs. There was coffee but no continental breakfast
Great location and cheaper than nearby accommodations. If you are on a cheap budget and want to be right downtown, it works. However, you could do better in a guest hostel.
No wifi available in the room. The continental breakfast was below average compared to other similar establishments and the $5 extra charge per person should have been waived - so we decided to eat outside. Although we put "don't disturb" sign on the door, the room service still woke us up unnecessarily, knocking loudly.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very clean. The hoteL is located in the best part of DC and we couldn't be happier. Overall, satisfied customer, minus some problems.
If you wanted to use the free wifi, you had to go to the lobby and even there it didn't work.
This hotel was conveniently located, close to some bars and restaurants as well as to the White House and other sights. The room was clean.
This is one of the worst hotels that I have visited in DC. The hotel is quite nasty. Not clean. Outdated. Incredibly small rooms (one of the smallest that I have ever seen in a hotel). The bed is terrible and gross. The place is not worth the money. I checked out with a penalty after the first night though I was booked for several days.
The location is great. The bathrooms are nicer and more updated.
I wish WiFi were in the room and not just the lobby. The standards of the corridors, stairwell and lobby in terms of wear and tear, were not up to those of the room. If they were spiffed up a bit the place, and experience, would be genuinely amazing.
It is very clean and simple. It really provides all you need.
needed more information on transportation bus schedules perhaps
None of the staff I asked could give me accurate options of getting to Dulles international airport. They all wanted me to take a cab which is expensive...yet, it is so easy and fast to get to the airport by train.
The location is great. Close to White house and restaurants and other attractions
poor breakfast but cheap
close to downtown
No wifi and the shower vent was loud. Awkward placement of the coat rack sort of thing. Kept banging our heads on it.
The staff was very friendly. Clean hotel. Smaller rooms, but they don't try to hide it in the room photos and descriptions. If you're just coming and going like us, definitely recommend.
I've been there with a group of friends and we wanted to check out the city. The price for the Hitel is really good. It's close to all the sigh seeing things. We could walk everywhere. The White House is about 7 min from the hotel. The rooms were clean and we got free wifi. The breakfast was ok for 5$. Really enjoyed my weekend trip.
Everything seems very old, although the quality of the rooms changes considerably depending of what you get. Very simple and relatively cheap things like painting the window frames or renewing the carpets would make a big difference. The walls are so thin that you can actually hear conversations and noises, but, honestly, I could always sleep perfectly, so unless you're very picky, that won't be a problem. Worst part: WiFi didn't work at all at any time, and the "Business centre" was a room with two chairs and two old pc's. Internet didn't work and there was no printer.
- The location is hard to beat. 5 minute walk to 14th Street and P Street, both with lots of restaurants and fancy clubs. 10-15 minute walk to Mount Vernon Square and McPherson Square. 20 minute walk to the White House and Metro Center. - Despite what other comments and users say, we always found the rooms very clean and tidy, with white towels, etc. and there were no bugs or anything disgusting. Everything correct concerning this point. The beds were comfortable and big and the hot water in the shower worked very well, something that I always appreciate.
Towels could be a bit thicker.
The location was great. Within walking distance to all the sites. Fair number of food options. Great Whole Foods store 2 blocks away. Very quiet and clean.
You can hear everything next door!! No ventilation in bathroom and the door cannot be locked! No free wifi in the room!
Reasonable room but outdated design and look unkempt. It's not my property, so it does not matter. Do not rely on taxis hotel reservation services or advice for a walk, proposed solutions are more expensive and not up to date in relation to what we have achieved on our own. Sleep eat and plan the rest alone. Reasonable room but outdated design and look unkempt. It's not my property, so it does not matter. The only option we found at a fair price in a central location. Breakfast of coffee, milk, tea, bagels, muffins, butter, jam, Belgian waffles and sweet syrup. 24-hour hot drinks.
The floor in the room .needed a good vacuum or a sweep
The hotel is very dirty. The carpets are dirty, the elevator is dirty and stinks, the stairs are dirty. My room was underground in a very cold lower ground floor, with only a 20cm x 60cm tiny window. I thought I had booked a hotel room, not a basement!
Location is central and it is cheap
No private parking. The suggested public parking place nearby is rather expensive.
Value for money, yet clean and comfortable.
