The historical character- especially great that they had restoration photos displayed. The candy at the front desk was nice too! If not for the "thin walls" we really liked it there- but might ask for the top floor next time!
Old buildings are not very soundproof- We were awakened by a lot of noise above us - people walking around and also loud voices in the hallway and vacuuming somewhere. Granted it was around 7:30-8 am, but we had gotten in quite late and wanted more sleep and are not usually light sleepers. Also- the rollaway bed for my daughter was so uncomfortable she had to move the mattress to the floor.
Very quite, and spacious room, would recommend to anyone.
Room was a bit warm
It would be quite convenient to have a dormitory refridgerator in the room.
Funky great building. Some rooms clearly better than others but the 2 or 3 we saw were nice. We used Uber so parking was not a problem - luckily. Breakfast was good - could have used more fresh fruit.
Maid service left us only one towel on one of our days. Everyone was nice but a little “greeting/help the guest" training would go a long way.
I loved the gentleman staffing the front desk. Friendly. Helpful.
Housekeeping staff was VERY loud early in the morning. Banged around and talked in full voice.
We were allowed to leave our luggage at the front desk and preregister prior to check in time.
When we arrived back that evening about 9 pm, we found we had been given a room with a queen bed and a sofa sleeper rather than the two queen beds I had booked. We were told there were "issues" with the room we had booked (no details were given) so they had "upgraded" us to a "suite" that had a small refrigerator (which was irrelevant to our one night visit) in place of the more comfortable second queen bed. They stated they did this in lieu of making us move to another hotel (indicating they could do that if we wanted; sure-at 9 pm go relocate in a strange city to another hotel? I think not.) ) The light switches and lamps did not work at first and we had to call about that as well. We were very disappointed that they had switched our room especially since the sofa sleeper was much more uncomfortable than the bed and we needed a good nights rest. No adjustment was made in price as they seemed to think they had done us a favor by giving us a room with the mini fridge. Had it not been for this major disappointment it would have been fine.
the building competent staff
no free WiFi
Location was excellent, parking in the front of building was great.
Breakfast was very limited at 8:00 AM. the selection could be improved.
The hotel was nice, it made you think of being home or at someone else home. The room look like a large bed room. It was so nice. Me and my husband love it.
Everything was great very nice people. Really clean room with great space! Quiet place with updated decor!
Some of the people that would approuch you in this location.
I ordered this hotel barf on the implied amenities, however there were no such amenities. Breakfast was stake cheerios, fruit loops, and raisin bran. Good coffee though. There were supposed to be fluffy robes, there were no robes at all. they switched my room because I had no refrigerator which I needed and had specifically picked in my room. There are 4 parking spots so that's a fight every day to see who gets to park. My room was so tiny it was amazing. There was supposed to be a couch but there wasn't. The beds were extremely comfortable though. The furniture all had severe water damage and just looked really bad. The staff was very polite and helpful. The good things were, the staff, the location, DirecTV, and the bed was high quality.
$530 for 2 nights and I got nothing I was promised on line. No refrigerator, no robes, no parking, no sofa, stale terrible breakfast, tiny room, teeny tiny tiny shower and worse off all the Wi-Fi was $10 a day!!. ridiculous. It wasin way with what they charged, the only thing truly worth any thing was the location.
We did like that they gave us a better room for the second night.
The first room that we got had gotten had no phone, fuses kept blowing out, broken shade laying on sill and no curtain and couldnt see tv from the couch. Bathroom floor was filthy and two ratty small pillows on bed in tiny room. No manager on premises! We would never stay there gain.
Building, location, excellent automatic coffee maker
Parking not the best, breakfast ran out of good pastries and was not restocked both days
Location....was perfectly situated for MICA launching.
Received hostile, angry and mean greeting from reception at 11:30pm (from an 'Erica'). Rude and mean (with no apparent cause!). Deliberately and painfully SLOW with check-in. Monosyllabic responses. No introduction to hotel or neighborhood (didn't know about breakfast!).
Close to theaters, museums, restaurants in Mount Vernon
Parking can be tricky
amazing location in downtown baltimore, beautiful rooms that were cool and non-traditional, and a very helpful staff! Simply loved it.
Charming old property; large bedroom; big windows; central but not touristy location.
Bathroom was poor: size good, but shower stall was flimsy and shower head broken. No hangers in closet; no coffee with Geurig machine; breakfast was poor-- packaged breads & pastries, fruit cups. At $185/night (tax included), I would not stay here again. There are better deals in Baltimore.
Liked it here. Only issues were parking hard to find, and wanted $10 for wifi...
The first room I was given was on the 4th floor, and was beautiful with a nice view.
When I returned to the room a few hours later it smelled like fresh cigarette smoke. They moved me to a room on the first floor. I had to keep the blinds shut because the sidewalk was just outside. The shower stall was odd, too: you had to get in it to turn it on! I won't be returning.
Melody was the best employee at the hotel. She was always kind, helpful and smiley.
Large, updated, comfortable room. Very quiet for sleeping. Near museums and Mount Vernon neighborhood which is lovely and has some really nice restaurants.
Breakfast was really dreary. Coffee machine was out of coffee, milk pitcher was depleted so no milk for cold cereal....
It was a non smoking hotel, and booking.com told me different. Displeased with booking. Com not the hotel.
Room was very nice. The hotel itself was so nice. Lovely place to stay while in Baltimore.
Parking spots were few. Had to park on opposite side of street.
Clean, comfortable room with a good TV. Easy parking in front of hotel, good neighborhood for restaurants. Quiet and off the beaten path from touristy hotels.
Cost vs. Amenities was very nice Greatly appreciated unique architecture Warm staff and clean modern rooms
Parking although we got very fortunate with a spot out front
