Welcoming staff who were extremely helpful with information about the locality. The staff were there 24 hours. My son and I stayed in a good sized twin room with a sink. We shared a bathroom (we had a choice of four on that floor so were never inconvenienced). The accommodation is well used and spotless; everything works too. We were on the side of the main road which could be a little noisy in the mornings. Public lounge with ample computers, but wifi a little slow, and also snacks available. To conclude, the hotel/hostel was basic but better than I expected and we were surprised to receive room service. Perfectly safe to leave luggage in room (this was important as we had lots of photography equipment) and not far to walk to the subway.

Great staff, they were very helpful. Location near sub and safe surrounding. Atmosphere. First two nights we´ve suffered from poor heating but then they fixed it. And there was "Tai-chi master" neighbour who like a homeless and have three cats in his room and the room look was full of garbage. He had almost everytime open door. But on the ohter hand it was kind of funny.

If you are looking for an inexpensive hotel in Manhattan, you should definitely consider the Broadway hotel. Our expectations were low due to our budget and the reviews on booking.com. But we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are big, clean and so are the bathrooms. The room was cleaned daily, every other day we've got fresh towels. When we needed some extra blankets due to the cold weather, it was no problem at all. The staff was very thoughtful and helpful arranging our taxi to the airport. I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially to backpackers and younger people. I don't think i would recommend it to family's with (young) children. The Broadway hotel is located at the corner of 101st and Broadway, Subway stops are at 103st and 96st and central park is just a 10 min walk.

- good location - good bed - not too noisy - rooms of the kids was freshed up and had a nice shower - room of the kids was just painted and the smell of the painting was still overwhelming - bathroom was not very clean - no wifi in the room so I had to go downstairs in the lobby; there was a lot of noise/loud music so not very appropriate to read/send my mails

Fairly nice hostel, on the cheaper side to a hotel- ny is expensive! Location was further away from main attractions, but was near the subway and a 20 minute ride from Times Square, or a $12 cab ride. Easy.

We got free wifi in our rooms although apparently we just got lucky because we were on the second floor above the lobby. Again, lucky that not many people stayed when we did and so sharing a bathroom was not a problem however in the morning a party of school children arrived on our floor making a trip to the shared bathroom virtually impossible due to the queue.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, good location, and a nice room. It was really cold in the room the first night, the radiators must have been broken. We heard load hammering noices the following nights and It seems like they tried to fix the radiators during the whole weekend. We had a hard time sleeping because of that.

The Bedroom I shared with another girl was very nice clean and bed bug free. The Hotel is convieniently located on the Upper West Side, with bus 15min to Times Square and stop directly in front, Metro faster and also only 3 blocks away. The Lobby is nice and cosy. I was glad to be there only one night, the bathrooms are clean but old... Bag deposit costs 2$ and they took a while to find my bag again...but they did in the end WiFi is only available in the lobby, not in the rooms

Good uptown location, clean rooms. A little overpriced as I paid &121.00 for two days. Next night at another hostel paid $76. This one had towels and two stacked bunks in room with a waters/sink. Bathroom across hall. As a 61 year old appreciated it all in all. Nice downstairs with 2/ 40 inch hd tv'S. Elevator was nice but creapy as I was on 7th floor. Will stay again!

Special attention to satisfy guests.Only 2 blocks from subway, and 5 minutes to times square.Reasonably priced, ethnic restaurants with great food within a block of hotel. Beds are twin size bunks. These are fine for a short stay, but not for longer than a week unless you are below 30.

Decent location, close to a Metro stop with easy access to the city. When we first got there they gave us keys to a room and when we open it there was someone else in there. They gave us another room straight away but acted like it was our fault. The guy who checked us in was generally quite rude and abrubt! Not a particulary friendly place to stay

It was a nice hotel, clean, and pretty cheap (compare to other hotels in Nyc) we had a private room with private bathroom. It was really confortable. The localisation (upper west side) is perfect ! It was too noisy.. But it's ok, it didn't bother us that much

The hotel was tidy and staff were really friendly. It was conveniently located close to a main tube station which made it quick and easy to get to times square. It's great if you are not spending a lot of time in ny and just need a place to stay. The photo's which they had on the website do not reflect the hotel 100%. I was expecting two single beds next to each other as with the pictures as well as cupboards, it ended up being a bunk bed with no cupboards for folded clothes or hanging space. It mentioned on the website that there is WiFi, however it only works on the 1st floor so we were not able to use it from our rooms which was not ideal.
