Location, bed, friendly helpful staff
Shared bathroom. Decor needs major updating.
Staff very kind. Near to the underground station, in 20 mins you can reach the city centre.
Old builging, not so nice.
Close to subway, very clean and safe, modern, spacious rooms
The kitchen facilities are sub par. Half broken toaster and kettle and no cutlery or crockery to prepare even the most basic meals.
no wardrobbe,common bathroom,expensive, no breakfast
This is a very budget place
Bed extremely uncomfortable. Lift slow. Internet worked sometimes, tiny tiny rooms
Thank you. Safe and felt secure.
Sharing bathroom not what I had planned.
We had a great stay in Brodaway Hotel, location it's perfect, just a 3 minutos from line 1 and a lot of restaurant and super markets. Staff were friendly as the taxi driver who took us to JFK.
Bad wifi and of course so disappointed about the 2US dollar we had to pay to storage our luggage after check out!
Beds made and new towels everyday. Good location, right on Broadway near the main metro line. Room a good size.
Staff do not acknowledge you when you walk in even when you say hi. They're more interested in looking at their phones. It's like they're pretending to refurbish with 'wet paint' signs everywhere that have clearly been there for a long time. Shower is old and goes from boiling to freezing and sprays water all over the bathroom. Could do with the refurbish they make it seem they're doing!
Clean basic rooms
The room was nice, plenty of space. Not too noisy. Good value for money. Very close to Central Park and subway connections.
The bathrooms weren't very pleasant, they could use some work. One toilet was blocked the whole time we were there. The lift was broken on our floor as well so we had to take our suitcases up the stairs.
location value for money
Payment in advance of the night(s) Some beds are too soft and too small Equipment/heating pipes of some rooms are rather old and not functioning properly (rooms can be very hot sometimes with no possibility to open a window) Luggage storage: a 2 dollar fee is requested per luggage
In Manhattan, nice staff/hosts, could leave our luggage in when came in earlier. Walking distance from central park. Has kitchen in ground floor. Nice neighbourhood.
Its Manhattan so price/quality was relativelly ok. Still next time I will consider staying outside Manhattan as it is too expensive. Room (double with private bathroom) had everything it needed for short stay, but it is very basic. Trough traveling in USA we paid 5 times less for such quality rooms.
Price was half the amount of other hotels in a safe neighborhood. Hotel was clean. Good community
Sharing bathrooms, mattress was no good, need new sheets, towels and blankets. New rug would be good also. room was not at all inviting. Elevator very slow
Room was clean and bed was comfortable.location was great location 5 min walk to subway ten mines on subway to times sq.
The lighting in the room was very poor!!
5 star Hostel, we had a twin bed shared bathroom, the room had a dead bolt lock, flat screen tv, personal sink and mirror, and air conditioner. Linens and trash were changed daily. Soap, towels and shampoo provided. The bathroom was a one person private 3/4 bath that the entire floor shares (wasn't ever too busy and had lots of hot water). The Hostel also has a locked luggage room, free wifi, Internet cafe with printer, nice lobby area, public fridge, microwave and bar available. Great for people just looking for a safe place to sleep.
Not a hotel. Why? cockroaches, nasty room carpet, uncomfortable beds, drafty rooms, very uneven floors. I wouldn't recommend staying with kids and bring flip flops for the shower.
Location Room size and cleanliness Staff Price
Close to the subway and other places
Elevator was broken when we got there The bed was terrible
Hotel is cheap and in good location, there is also a very nice hang out area in the lobby, couches and nice kitchen, plenty space to have breakfast or watch a movie with friends in the evening
Room is very modest, the radiator has no option to be regulated and it was way too hot all the time.. Also there were stains on the bed spread which did not make the room feel clean
Location was great - 2 min from Metro Station, a lot of places to have breakfast/lunch/diner in less than a block distance, rooms were cleaned up every day and clean towels were given. Even the bathrooms are shared, they still were very clean. It was about 15 min subway ride to TimeSquare. We didn't need much more. :)
It was a bit noisy, because we had a room going out to the streets, so if you are "delicate" in that matter, ask for a room more 'inside'. For us it was okey. The heat was going crazy, so it was very hot in the room, this was the only inconvinience. And the elevator was a bit slow ;) But those points are just small issues to live with. Didn't affect our overall good opinion. :)
Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent price
Location is almost perfect Staffs are helpful Room was big enough but we take 1 room with bath.
At night air come from window.
good location, everything without problems, easy to find, close to the subway and central park
+Convenient location, walking distance to subway, supermarkets, pubs/restaurants and Central Park +Large and clean living/kitchen area for all guests nearby the lobby +One of the shared bathrooms on our floor has been renovated recently and was quite nice +Private room quite large compared to the ususal "New York room size"
-The other shared bathrooms on our floor were quite run down (esp. bathtub/shower). One shower did not work at all. -Hardly any furniture/amenities in the private room aside from a bed, TV and one chair (no bedside lamps, just one nightstand, no hooks for clothes or towels) -Quite noisy at night, since directly facing Broadway -One morning, we were surprised by a mouse running cross our room (7th floor). When we informed the receptionist about it, he apologized shortly and forwarded it to housekeeping. We didn't press the issue, but of course it would have been nice if some kind of compensation would have been offered at that point. The housekeeping placed a "glue trap" underneath the bed. In the last morning of our stay, we found the mouse - trapped but still living and squeaking - in the middle of the room (it must have dragged itself and the trap from underneath the bed). We know that sth. like this can happen easily in NYC, but still a rather unpleasant experience.
Really close to Central Park, staff were friendly and helpful
Way overpriced for what it is, it's a hostel and a hotel so a lot of people around, not very clean, saw a cockroach in the bathroom. It's pricey because it's in manhattan but you would be better staying in a nicer hotel in Brooklyn for half the price
