The manager Jose was very friendly and super helpful.
Everything was OK. We really liked the restaurant which was in the same building - but it's not the hotel business :)
Too much of an air freshener was used in the room and we couldn't breathe easily because it smelled too much. Also, can't think of nothing special if it comes to location.
Bedding was clean and comfortable.
Weird smell coming from a/c unit when it was on.
Couldn't lock the door
The room was clean and spacious. Free parking was nice but parking spots were tight. It was nice to have a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker in the room and it was an excellent location for our trip to San Francisco. The office staff is friendly, too! If I have to go back to SF I would stay there again.
We had a homeless person living outside the room under the stairway to the second floor.
We love how clean and spacious the rooms are. Free parking, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and an excellent location. Get local bars and restaurants within a block, and no homeless people!!! The office staff is friendly, too!
I stayed at the Inn for 4 days with my wife for our anniversary (we are poor college students). It is a GREAT value for the money. The rooms was nice, which had a kings size bed which which was pretty comfy. It's really nice to have a TV (with cable), desk, fridge, microwave, and iron with an ironing board in the room. One of the best bonuses is the free parking, which seems to be ample. There is lots of great restaurants near by and the it has many different bus stops within two blocks. Other than some stains in the carpet (Ink?), the room was extremely clean. The staff was helpful and kind, and the maids did a good job keeping the room clean. Also, a side note the little breakfast and lunch restaurant at the hotel was actually pretty good. The stuffed french toast was great for something different.
Our room (201), was the closest room to Van Ness. It became loud every morning about 6 AM, but during the night I didn't notice any noise from the road. I suggest bringing earplugs if you stay here. The hallways and door to the room were really trashed and old, but the rooms were nice.
It was a fair price for the stay. They really stick to their 11 am check out, so be prepared.
It was noisy. The bathroom was not as clean as I would have liked day one, but afterwards, the housekeepers kept it clean.
Value for Money They held our Bags after we Checked out until our Flight later that night
Was too far away from Pier Didn't feel safe after Dark. Thin Thin Walls... Heard too much for my liking.
The reception manned by Jose was amazing! Helpful, polite, informative an all round asset to this hotel.
Massive bed - really comfortable. View of Golden Gate Bridge from our room. Good location on Van Ness, easy to get to all areas of the city. We walked to lots of places but there are buses just outside the door.
Coffee maker was a waste of time, unless you like drinking pale brown lukewarm coffee first thing in the morning. It was the only thing that let the room down.
Parking included Rooms are clean and well appointed. Staff were very friendly and helpful Good location relatively close to Fishermans wharf (a 25 minute walk)
It's expensive for what you get, as are all hotels in SF
I like the hotel but this was not cool.
The room seem to have been re rented because the sheets were dirty with hairs etc....
Nice location, all attractions in walking distance, caffees and restaurants on Polk street very pleasant, cable car not far away, hop on/off bus station also in walking distance
slow check-in, noise from street
Great location close to Union St and Polk, room on Broadway quiet, parking convenient, smoking allowed on the terrace, good ratio price quality, nice breakfast joint downstairs
The made a terrible noise. We were disappointed with the reception.ie the place not the service . The service was excellent
That you didn't have to pay for parking!
New rooms. And great price
Clean, comfortable and functional no-frills motel. Old-fashioned diner on-site with very friendly staff. The location is good, with a selection of bars and restaurants on Polk Street just a block's walk away. Bus stop half a block to go up or down Van Ness.
Price. Booked a week in advance and paid a staggering $1700 for five nights in a basic motel. I tried dummy-booking the same place three months in advance, and got a realistic price (can't remember exactly but it was less than half). MORAL: book early, or pay dearly! Neighbourhood is a nice one, but so many weirdos ride the SF buses. If you don't have a car, use taxis.
- Parking - Big and comfortable bed - Staff is nice
- Value for money isn't so good. - Motel located in the city but not really close to anything. - Colud be cleaner - AC worked but was very smelly - couldn't use it
-Great location -Free parking
-The elevator's inspection date passed in two years :/ -The hotel seems like and old and a little smelly motel
The Inn on Broadway was such an easy location to find. For a city like San Francisco it's a bonus. With Van Ness being a part of the 101 was great. The location made it easy to visit all the spots we wanted to see. The room was very clean and the staff charming. The elevator was a step back in time much like the various modes of public transportation for visitors. It took me back to my childhood to see the electric buses with the overhead lines.
The entry way into the elevator was a bit narrow but then again it is from another era in time. Simply nostalgic.
Location was close to chosen venue at civic auditorium. Close to restaurants and china town.
Cannot think of anything I didn't like
- Convenient location: 15 mins walk to the Maritime Museum area. - room spacious. - room reasonably clean. - coffee maker in room. - free parking available.
- bare concrete everywhere except the room itself. - the whole place very old and tired. - strong smell of cleaning chemicals in room - but can't open window for noise. - poor quality and low speed of WiFi.
