Very convenient location. Kenmore Square T station was a short walk away as was Fenway Park, House of Blues and many restaurants and pubs. Parking was close also and relatively reasonably priced. Internet access was not free nor was use of a computer. TV was on the small side and there was cold water in the shower in the morning.

The location is good. Some staffs are nice, and the rooms are clean. Some staffs are not that friendly and the wifi quality is bad.

Perfect place near Kenmore "T" station. Easy access to Boston city centre both by foot and train. At least in our room there was a microwave owen and a fridge. We didn't need those but I think they would be useful. The personnel was very kind.

Best location for Fenway Park and House of Blues. Good place for walking along Commonwealth and Newbury Streets. Prudential Center is not too far away. Bean Town Trolley picks up right at hotel. Great price compared to other Boston Hotels. Old, but with a little charm if you don't mind older furniture and tv. Microwave and fridge are handy. Continental breakfast was sufficient. Restaurants and services are close by. Housekeeping staff and desk staff were very nice. Hot water was a definite problem. Even running for 15 minutes as desk clerk suggested did not produce anything but tepid water in third floor room at night. Morning was okay for hot water. Our room was a little cool but better than our son's room which was very hot. Both families were booked on the third floor. Our room was on the end and was roomy. Their room was small and right across from loud construction being done to replace heating/cooling unit. Several rooms on the third floor were being renovated. When son's family was moved to a room on sixth floor, their room was much better.

Great value. More than I expected for the price. Breakfast ending at 10:30 am. Housekeeping staff kind of loud early in the morning.

The Buckminster is well located, very close to Fenway Park, Boston University, the Charles River, and Massachusetts Avenue, which leads over to Cambridge. It is very well served by the subway - Kenmore station is very close, and there are 3 branches of the green line which pass through it, so the service into or out of the city centre is frequent. I had a good sized room and it was kept very clean. The furnishings and bathroom fittings are not the most modern, but it's clean and everything works very well. I was lucky to get a last minute deal which made the room rate even cheaper than it already was. Good value. The buffet breakfast is good, with cereal, toast, some pastries, small muffins, and waffles. This is served in the Japanese restaurant which is on the ground floor of the hotel, which is a good value bet for the evening if you don't fancy the city centre.

This is our 2nd time staying in the hotel. Although the building is old, it was renovated, clean, neat, and comfortable. Very convinient location for shopping, food, and subways. Good price which includes good breakfast. Has parking garage (with extra charge) solve parking concern in Boston. Reception is very friendly, people are nice there. Thanksgiving night the staff upgrades our room from Queen room to one- bed suite without extra charge, that is nice & sweet. Internet is not included, need to pay extra.

This is hotel is an excellent value for those of us who pinch pennies. It is very clean and the staff is gracious and friendly. The breakfast is a fairly good value with an exceptional staff that is efficient, friendly and customer oriented. My complaint is that late Saturday night, early Sunday morning, Nov. 12/13, young kids were running back and forth from one room to another, shouting, laughing, banging on doors. It did not end until 4:30 A.M. when I finally called the front desk. Other than that, nice hotel, wonderful staff, very clean, great breakfast with a gracious staff. Thank you Theo F. Guilfoy

The hotel is in a good location for the underground and hop-on-off tour busses and the staff were very helpful. The room was only adequate, rather small and old. It had old fashioned furniture that took up a lot of room also there were no coat hangers in those wardrobes. The room needs modernising. The room was not that clean, there were makes on the carpet, which was old there was dust and the bathroom also old and could have been cleaned better. If the room were modern it would be easier to clean and obtain a better standard. I would recommend the hotel on location but make travellers aware of the standard of the rooms.

Very good sized suite, but a bit dated; however very good value for money. Location excellent - although not in the centre of town it's a five minute walk to the subway and also there are bars and restaurants around. Staff were very good - friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended Slightly dated. Could use a bit of paint!

I liked the front desk staff, the price and the size of the king suites - and oh yes - the soap is interesting too. In some rooms the internet connection doesn't work at all - in others it works with an inconveniently placed internet connection point - in one case behind a heavy cabinet that was difficult to move. Double beds do not always have bedside tables and bedside lights on both sides. When I left a message for the manager to call me - he didn't! With a few improvements this could be a wonderful hotel - I can't understand why the minor and irritating imperfections haven't been put right.

The convenience of it's location couldn't be better for events at the House of Blues or games at Fenway Park. (I live less than 50 miles away, but I wanted to stay "in-town" after a concert) The Kenmore Square subway station is just steps away, as are many restaurants of all price ranges, as well as convenience stores and banks. The room was clean and the front desk staff was super friendly. This is not a luxury hotel, so don't come expecting someone to scatter rose petals as you walk through the lobby. I am not one to linger in a hotel room when I travel, so I don't like to waste my time (or money) on a hotel. I just want a clean, quiet and reasonably priced place to sleep... With easy access to what it is I came to see or do. This place was perfect for me. The only "issues" I had were that the audio quality of the tv wasn't quite up to par and the room could have used a small chair other than the one the writing desk... Only because the (very comfortable) bed was so high off the floor, it made it hard to tie my shoes while sitting on the edge of it... As if those could even be elevated to the status of a complaint! Life should be so rough.

After quite a bit of searching I was happy to find a pretty reasonable price at the Hotel Buckminster - worked out great for our night in Boston. Great location right by Fenway Park and easily accessible to all parts of the city via public transportation. Staff was friendly and helpful - allowed us to check in several hours early and offered an upgraded room (to a suite). Room was clean and comfortable, with lots of character and charm. Complimentary breakfast was above average as well. Would stay here again if we had the chance! Parking in ramp next door is $30 - when we arrived only one very small space was left...just something to be aware of. And hot water takes forever to get going in the shower. Not a big deal, but good to know!

This is an older hotel with a small room and bath. The unit was clean and staff very friendly. This is a 3 star hotel at best, but a great location for a game at Fenway or a visit to Boston University. Mta stop is half a block away and is a one transfer to get to Logan Airport on the mta. I would not pay a luxury hotel price for this hotel.

Location to Fenway Park was a 10! Also, just a short jump to rail and good walking opportunities. Althought the parking staff was freindly and accomodating, parking is steep - $28 a day. Also, visitors need to be prepared to haul their stuff into the hotel due to lack of parking and off loading areas.

How helpful the staff was. They treated you with respect and helped with directions and good ideas for sightseeing. My only complaint was that people were smoking on my floor. I did mention it and it seemed to stop. Not the hotels fault just lack of respect from some visitors.
