I hate spending a lot of money on hotels since I spend very little time in the room. Motels, although cheaper, make me nervous since most of them are pretty run-down. After reading the reviews, I decided to take a chance and I'm so glad I did. The room was clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The gentleman at the front desk was cordial and extremely helpful. I love this place and plan on returning with my wife.
having a warm comfortable room with quiet location. Easy access to car. suited our purpose. e
We got in from Houston after a delay in Atlanta, but we were getting there late, in a driving rain. When I called to make sure that was okay, Val told me not to worry, she'd have our room all ready for us. The next morning when we stepped out to go talk with Val and Eddie, we were shocked - for the first time in history, Maine had snow November 1. And not just a bit of snow. But a true "nor'easter", with the wind blowing so hard, the snow was coming in sideways! We made it out to the only restaurant open for breakfast, "The Rise and Shine", and back to the motel. My husband to go out again amd when he came back, the tires were so slick he couldn't make it up the slight incline and ha ssd to park at the bottom and walk up to the motel. During all of this, Val and Eddie were wonderful. They just got on with shoveling and plowing the snow off the parking lot. They've been renovating the motel, with Eddie doing all the work, and it's a wonderfully thought out design. They kept the "50's vibe" and put a few updates in. We never lost power, like so many others did, so we felt really lucky. The fridge and microwave gave great service! We loved it there and hope to spend time there again.
The tv guide was a bit difficult top decipher.
Good location. Clean and decorated cute.
Very small room and bathroom with no vanity.
Easy driving distance to Maine Maritime Academy in Castine which is just 15 miles and about 20-25 minutes away. Room 6 has a very comfortable king bed, free Wi-Fi access, a coffee maker, mini-refrigerator, and cable TV. Everything was clean and pretty well arranged. located right over the Bridge, so it is convenient located but traffic noise is minimal. There is a Dunkin Donuts shop adjacent to the Inn which was convenient. It is just a short walk across the street to Hannaford’s grocery and to the Riverwalk. Clean, comfortable, with friendly owners who even recommended local restaurants and moderate prices.
Bathroom did not have a blow dryer or any shampoo/toiletries. The shelf space was kind of tight in the bathroom and the mirror was placed high which would be a concern for some. The bedroom could have used another mirror, preferably full length.
Convenient to all Town offerings, which are few and limited but acceptable. I was brought up in Bucksport so have good insight as to the area. I've stayed at the Best Western and choose the Bucksport Motor Inn over BW.
The people were extremely accommodating and friendly and helpful. The back run was great for the dog as it had big lawn and woods to run or walk.
Because we had a dog we had to be in one of the rooms for dogs. After air freshener wore off, the room had a dog smell. Beds very uncomfortable.
The door in the bathroom was a little awkward, but that's about it.
I felt like I was an important guest. I arrived with a group of friends at a late hour and was happy to see that we all had rooms promised us. Often you get to a motel/hotel and find out your king bed was given to someone else and you get the closet in the back. The rooms were very clean and the amenities were good.
I only had one negative thought about the room. I would have liked it if the pillows were a little firmer and larger. I also feel the mattress was not as firm as I would like but that is a personal choice. The pillows however were small and thin. There were only two for the queen size bed. I guess if there were more I could have piled them up.
Units set back from road, no noise problems. Good food options nearby.
We were checked in by the owners who had quite a lot of knowledge of the area, restaurants and attractions. Towels were fresh daily and the rooms were very clean, freshly painted. I would recommend this motor inn to any traveler!!
I wish the bathrooms had hair dryers.
cleanliness and regarding comfort, it was definitely sufficient. I like the chairs and table outside the room so you can enjoy being outside first thing in the morning. We took advantage of the picnic table having our breakfast.
Comfortable rooms, clean and quite. No breakfast available but some options nearby. Great staff!
The location is right on Rt. 1, a busy and well traveled highway....and on our way to Stonington to head out to Isle Au Haut. Owners were helpful with places to eat, forgotten items and just generally pleasant and caring.
There was no shampoo in the bathroom, ususual these days. We hadn't brought any with us expecting that this was a basic commodity.
Bed was way too soft.
Helpful friendly staff! Able to direct us to dining and attractions in the area! Only one night stay but pleasant experience staying with a group with age difference of 7 to 84
No handicap facilities
Owner was most helpful in providing info on restaurants, sites to enjoy and local events.Located close to downtown area.
clean,updated, great value
Very easy to find Cleanliness Very friendly and helpful staff Recently refurbished Comfortable bed Brand-new bath, towels and bedding
A/c is noisy A little overpriced
great location great value
a ceiling fan would have been nice but did not impact our stay in any negative way
Friendly staff, immaculate rooms.
We liked everything.
Good location when we come back from Acadia NP; Clean and good value Owner is friendly
Excellent wifi. Close to a couple of good restaurants in town and Fort Knox.
Noisy crows in the woods at the back of the property, where some of the rooms are situated.
QUAINT LITTLE TOWN! RICH HISTORY AND BEAUTIFUL BRIDGE SPAN!!
The room was very clean, and very good price. We enjoyed our stay and will stop by if in area again. We recommend you to visit.
TV was old and small, but it did work, so everything worked out.
