The Inn is well maintained, the room is clean and you are near a grocery store, a winery and a gas station. The breakfast is not so various but it is essential and it is free. The village is near many beautiful locations so it is easy to go everywhere.
WiFi, unfortunately, is not so good
Close to wineries and restaurants
Rooms were smaller then normal.
Convenience of its location to everything in the area.
The bed was very hard and uncomfortable.
The location was prime. You can walk to stores, food, and even one of the entrances to the hiking trails from the inn. The price was right also.
While sitting out front there were other guests who were smoking since it is a non-smoking hotel. While I understand the convenience of this for smokers, if the wind was in the wrong direction, we had to breath it also.
The price. The room was decent.
The traffic noise made it difficult to sleep. The front desk was not staffed many times as the owners did housekeeping duties.
We liked the convenience of the Tops grocery store and liquor store across the street and the walking distance to the downtown to all the stores, restaurants and especially the marina. The Glen dairy bar next door was awesome and very busy.
we couldn't get a good night's sleep as the main road Hwy 14 carries most of the traffic in the village, lots of trucks running all day and night. Otherwise everything was fine.
Quiet surroundings provided a good night's sleep. Cleanliness of room and bath. Good variety in breakfast room.
Should have more attention to picking up after "sloppy" tenants. Cigarette butts, bottle caps, empty glass jar, etc.
attentive care for cleaning up and solving problems
got wifi on one device but not on another -- not a major problem
The man checking us in was in his underwear, the room smelled, there were bugs all over the bathroom wall and ceiling, the tv was horrible, it says the room includes a mini fridge, there was none.
Noisy neighbors sitting outside room talking until 1am
the room had a door on it
terrible location next to major highway...very noisy. I knew it would be a dump when I arrived - and it was. Certainly not worth $150 a night. Maybe $50.
The room smelled really bad, musty and air conditioner did not help. Small, old room priced like a modern room. Bathroom had been remodeled but very small. Awful experience.
The room was neat and clean. The management was super friendly and made you feel at home. Would highly recommend the Budget Inn of Watkins Glen and plan on staying there again.
Clean, serviceable room with comfortable bed, microwave and fridge. Good WiFi. Within walking distance of downtown Watkins Glen shops and restaurants. Curly's diner and large Tops grocery store right across the street.
Road noise during the day, which is probably true of any accommodations along the main road.
Nice staff, convenient location
Didn't get enough towels for room. Microwave was a little underpowered for trying to heat dinner for 4 people.
Nice and clean. Good location - short walk to downtown and State Park Gorge walk. Liquor store, pharmacy and supermarket right across street.
No coffee making facilities or breakfast and room had strange smell until we aired room by opening doors and windows - fine after that.
Groceries across the Street.
Could Hear traffic go by all night. Old heating system kicked on and Off all night, real loud.
Very clean with an in-town convenient location.
Room was small but that was not a major problem.
The property and the room was very clean. A larger than normal refrigerator was provided. All in all, a decent value for the money.
No coffee maker in the room. No real workspace and only two grounded electrical outlets available (one in rest room and the fridge taking the other across the room from the table).
beds comfy. Location very good.
It was close to my meeting place ,about 3-4 miles.....and it had plenty of stores nearby and was close to major highways.
The manager was rude and after agreeing to let me stay till noon the next day rather than 11 am.....he, upon sreing that I was up a little early, kept pressuring me to hurry up and leave. He also did not explain to me fully, that the inside lock button was not to be pressed in when leaving the room. He mentioned something about closing the door but honestly , I couldn't understand him because of his accent.when I returned I could not open the door and had to wake him up....the room wss really smsll and had no refridgerator as promised in my booking agreement.i would not recommend this place, however for one night it was ok.
The staff did allow us to check in early, easy going. Grocery store across the street, as well as liquor store. Cute little family diner near by, walking distance to town and falls.
Rooms were in need of updating, several guests that we spoke with were charged different prices, would not honor when brought to mgr. attention. Parking lot is okay at best, recent now storm certainly made it difficult to park. Was not maintained.
It was close to the wineries. liquor store across the street.
very noisy heard the traffic like you were outside. Over priced for what you received. bed very uncomfortable
