The staff was super friendly and nice...room service was great...wonderful old Retro styling..loved it...stocked refrigerator...real brass keys.
No coffee in the room.
Location, pet friendly, clean, great style, staff
no coffee maker in room
location, parking is near, bit pricey but too much
kitchen closes at 9 PM, limited room service menu
Beautiful historic hotel. Excellent location.
Tiniest bathroom ever.
Small, beautiful hotel
The staffs are very helpful, friendly and make you feel very welcoming. The hotel is at the Reliance building which is one of the classic and vintage buildings. Great location and easy access to all subway lines and buses. It is also a great shopping area, walking distance to Millennium Park and good restaurants. We stayed at 12th floor and have an excellent downtown skyline view
I have nothing to complain about
Our concierge was so polite and friendly. And he left us a surprise in our room when we mentioned it was our anniversary. We were very touched!
perfect location; perfectly wonderful rate; perfectly attentive staff; better than perfect view of not only the city, but the lakefront as well, the perfect shopping experience right around the block and a Starbuck's on every corner! How could our experience get any better than that?
We only wish we could have stayed longer than just one night to enjoy all of the wonderfulness of the hotel!!!
Helpful staff and clean room Location
Shower should be repaired
Room service took too long TV was not clear picture.
The hotel was great
Although I was not in Chicago for the medical convention I was subjected to rates that would have been less if I arrived the week before or after
well appointed rooms and very comfortable beds . good shower and bathroom. enjoyed the wine tasting at 5pm staff were most helpful and friendly
Basically the food for evening meal. the trout was over-cooked and dry. the carrots were singed on the outside and raw inside. the presentation of food was poor. The worst meal we had in the USA over 2 weeks. Cooking score 2/10. wine average.
Fantastic hotel in a beautiful historic building. Staff were very helpful and we valued Jean-Luc's guide to what to see in Chicago. Also the restaurant recommendations all turned out well
Shame the bar closed at 9.30pm
Location, beautiful-old-world decor, restaurant, staff, cocktail hour, comfortable bed
Shower didn't work well, no blower provided (later saw you have to ask for one), needed some extra hooks for hanging things in the small bathroom
Location is excellent.
There was major confusion upon checking in it took four desk staff to figure it out. We have stayed at several downtown hotels and never had this experience. Shouldn't take that long to check in. Room was small and not enough towels. Not what we we're expecting for what we paid.
The architecture of the building, the service.
Excellent beds, good bathroom, beautiful building.
This is a great location for getting around Chicago downtown. Hotel has efficient and friendly staff; fantastic upper floors restored interior and history of the building is exceptionally interesting. Rooms are clean and comfortable with decent views if you are facing due east. Great bar and bistro on the ground floor. I will definitely visit again.
There is nothing to dislike about Burnham Hotel.
Couldn't have asked for a better location. Loved that they had bikes you could get for free. And the free coffee/tea in the morning and wine hour in the evenings. Worth every penny! We were here marathon weekend and they had an awesome breakfast for all the runners. They put it out early for us. Loved everything about this hotel!
Great location friendly staff nothing to much trouble the wine reception every evening was a great idea. Can't go wrong staying at this hotel
We stayed in Burnham hotel from 5th to 8th of October, 2013. I enjoyed the whole experience of living here in the heart of Chicago Loop. The hotel has a perfect location close to malls (in front of Macy's), design shops (Nordstorm, DSW, Old Navy and etc.) and grocery stores (Target is the biggest one). It is convenient to visit local attractions within walking distance (Millennium and Grand park, Willis tower, Union Station..). It takes 40 minutes to get straight from the O'Hara airport to Washington station (Blue line). Especially we love wine hour in our hotel. Every day we tasted different wines from 5 to 6 pm and got a free access to fitness. I would definitely stay one more time there.
The building, the position, reception staff were helpful and friendly.
room 1201 had a good view but was very small and a bit shabby. a rather smug attitude but we have stayed in far better hotels. very expensive for what one gets even with a free glass of wine!
The area. Very well located.
Location Old-fashioned armosphere Bathrobes :)
Parking too expensive Minibar too expensive Pretty dirty (bed linen: no comment!!!!!)
The location is superb, the rooms and the staff excellent. liked the historic spirit mixed with modern comfort.
The breakfast was terribly overpriced, I paid 40$! On top of it the service was slow. This slightly spoiled the otherwise perfect impression during my stay.
