The owner Jim is a great host as are the rest of his staff. breakfast is awesome! very convenient location.
Best breakfast we have ever had at a hotel.
The Butternut Inn is a great place to stay in Killington. The staff is super helpful and the fresh made breakfast (which is included!) is amazing! My friends and I will definitely stay again the next time we go to Killington!
There was never anyone at the front desk, ever. Would have liked to be welcomed
Butternut Inn is homey and clean. Breakfast is included and it is excellent with hot omelettes on the menu daily. Dining in Killington isn't cheap but the food is excellent!
No towel racks near the bathroom basin and not enough room around/near the sink to place essential toiletries.
The homely bar area. The location was perfect. Short drive to the gondola station. Beautiful scenery. The staff when one appeared in the morning, very nice, friendly, accomodating, helpful. No one there when we arrived at 21.30, the place was deserted. A note, keys, and a phone nu were on reception. The proprieters wife had been taken ill but he offered us the run of the place including the kitchen. Very kind and trusting I thought. Fantastic compimentary breakfast, my son ate the pancake record of 9, they are big !
No evidence of any other guests, bit spooky on the edge of the woods and in the darkness. Alot of creaks ! My daughter was terrified, it was a bit like a scooby doo episode lol. Bathroom not very pleasant, towel rail over toilet. Very basic with much maintainance to be done. I believe the proprietor is new and will be renovating.
Staff nice helpful check yourself in did change our room so we were on first floor was very nice about it The place needs some elbow greasr and freshing up
Peephole had Kleenex syuffed into it rug dirty bathtub dirty outlets so high could't reach them doors not very sturdy bedspread old feeling not comfortable
Really good breakfast.
Not what we had expected at all. On arrival, just a lot of notes on the front desk on with keys and directions to rooms. Didn't see a member of staff until breakfast the next day. More like a hostel. With basic, functional furniture and decor. Expensive for what it was with little comfort.
The breakfast is exceptional especially the banana pancakes. The coffee was good and hot.
The Inn is in need of a much needed renovation. The rooms are functional and could use a good scrub. We needed somewhere to stay so we could spend a weekend in VT and this fit the bill since I booked at the last minute.
Friendly staff at breakfast. Pancakes and bacon were good too.
Nobody was there to greet us. We found a lot of if papers at the front desk with keys on top. All the doors of the rooms were open waiting for guests. The building looks abandoned although the rooms have had a fresh coat of paint. Bathroom needs to updated as well as halls. No furniture to put our stuff down. Also please dust!! There is a layer of dust on the dirty windows, the radiators, the breakfast table legs, etc. This place has so much potential but I'm peeved we payed $200 a night each room.
Breakfast included was wonderful!
Liked complimentary breakfast,
Room to hot, no ventilation, noise travelled from other rooms, beds not comfortable
Excellent value for money. Great location.
The location is excellent, the family running the inn is great, the breakfast was delicious, and prices are very reasonable.
Breakfast was good. Good location for access to local sites.
No place to sit in room.
The owner and staff were great. The building could use some updating and refurbishing. It doesn't look like much from outside but had comfy beds and a good location.
If you are looking for a fancy place, this isn't it. It is old and needs some work.
Clean and friendly. Great breakfast.
Having shampoo in the room would be nice.
Staff was friendly, breakfast was awesome, place was quite. Beds were comfortable, loved having the lounge for gathering as a group. Nice and toasty with a pellet stove. Views of the Mountian. 3 miles away.
The only negative I can think of is the inn is older and in some ways this shows
Location was next to main road into Killington Mountain. Great ample breakfast included and friendly staff.
Room had no chairs or desk, no tv guide listing. Room overall dark. And vinyl (plastic) wavy sticky floor in bathroom
The staff is amazing. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. Jim, the owner, makes sure you have everything you need and is always available. Phil knows the area very well. He knows where all the scenic spots are. The chef was great. The food was delicious and made to order with fast service. Everything was clean. I loved sitting in the camping chairs on the balcony in the morning. The view of Killington in the morning with the clouds was beautiful. Perfect in every way.
pancake breakfast was included in our stay-- it was awesome! the staff was super friendly and extremely accommodating. i would stay again next year for the same event.
the bathrooms could have been a little more up to date and cleaner, a little extra bleach doesn't ever hurt. it was too bad though, wouldn't deter me from staying again.
The staff is exceptional. They go out of their way to make sure your stay is optimal. The breakfast is out of this world and the BYO bar is cozy. If you have any requests, they go out of their way to meet them.
No hot tub or pool. Nobody took out our garbage while we were there for 4 days.
Country setting, close to hiking and skiing.
Pillows were so old they were like flat bricks. Tried to make tea in the morning and there were coffee grounds in the "Hot Water".
Motorcycle friendly. I great cooked to order complimentary breakfast.
