The staff was AWESOME! The room was clean and cozy and well designed for convenience. Very nice place to stay!
Pool looked a bit dated...like it needs maintenance...a bit dingy looking.
Location, ocean view, jacuzzi, pool, parking, WiFi, staff, cleanliness, beach towels provided
No personal outside space, noisy air-conditioning, plumbing and road noise at times. No bar. No safe.
Located within walking distance of downtown Laguna Beach and restaurants
Poor sound insulation, heard road noise and people out at pool all evening. "Breakfast" was one donut and some coffee.
The advertised cont breakfast was very poor.no effort was put into it.I was not looking for a Hamption Inn type but how hard would it have been to supply some fresh fruit, maybee some bagels & toppings.
Hospitality - special thanks to Troy Convenient parking Very close to the beach Pleasant environment Not too many inhabitants
Nothing to declare
plenty of hanging and drawer space; shower excellent; room quiet, even though right on PCH; good coffee in lobby in the am; linens good/bed & pillows comfy.
staff only so/so - desk clerk when we checked in really not helpful at all - had to ask for everything that should have been offered up (maps, guide books, location of ice...) plus, he said they now served breakfast - really??? Krispy Kreme is breakfast???? Cleaning staff did not come to our room on one day until we were back after being gone all day and we were in the middle of changing for dinner. That is totally unacceptable!
Good location, fairly clean and quiet.
The hotel is more like a motel with rooms facing inwards, and the oceanview balcony turned out to be on the side with distant and limited views. This is not an oceanfront hotel by any means. The "breakfast" was served in the form of cronuts and coffee, nothing else. Staff was not very friendly and one day our room was not cleaned, we hardly received an apology, but eventually received a small discount at the end. All in all, I think the hotel is good but the value is not there for the money spent.
Cro-nuts (cross between croissant and donut) and coffee should not be billed as breakfast included. This really does not constitute breakfast fare.
No view. Overpriced. Too expensive. Old outdated air conditioning and a noisy fan.
The kids liked the pool and the "cronuts". The location was great. The parking is spacious. The rooms are a good size and comfortable. The overall decor is nice. The staff provided us with chairs, umbrella and boards to enjoy the beach. The service was great and people very friendly.
The carpets were a bit dirty in the room.
Chairs... Not comfortable.
The bed was nice and the decor was elegant. The hotel was convenient to downtown and walking distance to Las Brisas.
We were cheated and given a dark, cave like room with lots of foot traffic in front of the "view" window. This was not the extra upgraded room I reserved 4 months ago. As usual, I had confirmed through Booking.com and telephoned the hotel directly, two times, to reconfirm that we would be recieving the ocean view room with balcony. This was an important date for my husband and I and in all our world travels we have never been treated so poorly... no where have we not been given the room reserved or something better. The room they tried to pawn off on us was a room that everyone walked by and had no balcony. When I demanded to have the room we reserved they said that guests had extended their stay and thus the room we had paid for in advance (!!!) and reserved 4 months ago was now not available. They did eventually give us a room with a balcony but it only showed a pinch of ocean and sat on the road with lots of Laguna traffic. This took over an hour of our time and although we had been okayed for a 3pm check-in... the room wasn't ready until 4pm. The bathroom needs repair. The shower/tub is losing its finish and the shower head is coming out of the wall. The a/c was a wall unit and never functioned adequately to help with Laguna humidity. We were told the trolley stopped in front of the hotel... although close by... not true. The staff was unapologetic and indifferent to the poor room management that they demonstrated. They eventually did give us a $100.00 back on our lodging cost. Staying at surf and sand next year.
Very close to the beaches, bars and restaurants. Great staff and lovely small intimate poor with jacuzzi. Wonderful stay.
Small thing. Bathroom sink in the main bedroom. No big deal though.
The staff, especially Kyle and Rachel, were incredibly friendly and helpful. There is no suitcase service at the hotel but Kyle was a prince and helped us with all of our bags to the room and to the car. This was so welcome given the fact that we were traveling with two children and my 88 year old mother! Rachel helped us get towels and beach chairs even though our room wasn't ready when we arrived. These staff members, plus two lovely others whose names I cannot remember, truly made the stay and reminded us of what hotel hospitality means!
When I booked this room I thought we were going to stay at this hotel's sister property, the Inn at Laguna Beach, just two blocks away and MUCH nicer. I was very disappointed to learn that we had been given a room here. Our cost was $339.00 for 2 queen beds and it was the equivalent of a motel room. Nothing luxe about it at all. The room had AC but was loud, and the sheets were not clean to our yes. The so called breakfast is a dounut and coffee. I would not recommend this hotel but would try the sister property.
Carpet was so very dirty
Updated nice rooms, hotel was certainly trying. Nicely decorated.
False advertising. Overpriced, paid extra for "ocean view with balcony", when the balcony was the hotel walkway, not a private balcony. To see the ocean, you had to have the drapes open, in front of the walkway, so everyone could see in. Also, there was no water in the fridge and we were told we could carry up as many cups of water as we'd like. I felt like responding, "well, do you have a tray!?" Also, we were charged extra for parking.
Great location within easy walking distance to the beach and town center. The bus stop for the city's free trolley is near-by, too. Clean & tidy throughout the hotel. Cookies & orange-flavored iced water at check-in and the cronuts (donuts made with croissant dough) and coffee for breakfast are nice.
Price is expensive but competitive for the location. Cronuts are tasty but are not enough for breakfast.
no wine opener very poor breakfast was charged for free parking
Reception area is nice. Staff are constructive.
Rooms are old and smell bad. No real sea view to note. More like a motel than a hotel.
Rooms clean and spacious. Location perfect for our purpose. Front desk staff very helpful and pleasant
Pool very small. Continental breakfast very poor.
The staff was excellent. They were extremely friendly and helpful. The room and facilities were very clean. The hotel is minutes from a beautiful section of beach.
I paid extra money for an ocean view room, but didn't think the view was that great. They had a nice breakfast, but I'm not a fan of the cronuts. They should go back to apples and oranges.
breakfast is non existent
