Nice rooms, good service, good location
The price is too hight not quite value for money. You can hear your next door neighbour warching TV and you can hear people talking in the hallway, not what I call luxury standard. The DVDs you can borrow are mostly old movies.
Roomy, good location
No coffee maker in the room or in the lobby. Big no no. For that price, how easy would it to put a Keurig in the rooms or at least have a coffee bar in the lobby. Internet was on and off as well.
Possibility to choose between different types of pillows. Shuttle service to and from airport.
Could not sleep well, because of the pillow. Very high rate.
Although our room was right on Commonwealth Ave., it was extremely quiet. It is also very close to Fenway Park which makes it easy to get home from a baseball game.
I have stayed at Hotel Commonwealth several times for business, but this was the first time for leisure. That gave me more opportunity to enjoy the property. Very comfortable room, excellent service. The restaurants on either side are good - the Island Creek Oyster Bar is exceptional. Great location. Walk to museums and Fenway Park.
The price is high, but comparable to other Boston hotels in this class and I think the service level and location make it worth it.
Excellent value and comfy
The blonde at front desk. Room was nice and clean.
Cost of parking, cost of room phone use.
Fabulous with everything you could want.
We liked the close proximity to Warren Towers, the free wifi that was fast and free delicious breakfast. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was a large size for Boston. Room had space and extremely clean. Restaurants in the Hotel are very good. The front desk was one of the warmest and friendliest staff I have ever met at a Hotel.
Every staff member went above and beyond to help. Location was perfect to visit universities. Great restaurant choices.
TV needed to be reset twice during our stay. Telephone was unusable for last day and a half due 'reinitializing'. Small irritants, won't prevent us from staying again, but worth a mention.
Great location! 2 great restaurants, one with best oysters in town and open late! The other with a wonderful breakfast deal. Rooms and beds were very comfortable. Could not beat the location to Fenway Park! A great baseball experience. And close to public transportation. Overall a great experience, our family would definitely stay at the Commonwealth again.
A little on the expensive side, but the best always is.
The Commonwealth is located 5 minutes from Fenway Park and a stone's throw from the 'T' at Kenmore station. The hotel is older, but classy, and has high-end amenities. We enjoyed our stay and will plan to stay at the Commonwealth on our next trip to Boston.
Thought 2 night price could have been better .Would look at other hotel in same area next time . Thought desk could have been more helpful with which better travel bus, cab, T line or trolley when visiting boston area
Cold water issues when taking a shower
Spacious, clean and comfortable rooms.
A bit "door slammy" noisy at night. Hard to operate the lamps!
Location close to Fenway park Subway at hotel Kenmore square had lots of restaurants to chose from
The Eastern Standard restaurant is great with an extensive wine list. The staff were all friendly and the rooms were spacious
We stayed on two occasions during July, each for a period of 3 days and enjoyed our second stay when the red sox weren't playing as it wasnt so hectic!
It is a very nice hotel, close to Fenway Park & Back Bay. Train is literally 1 min away. We got a complimentary upgrade to a very nice room and we found everything we needed for a brief stay (gym, good breakfast, free wifi...). It is certainly a very good hotel to explore this part of Boston (or any part, if you use the train).
Their normal parking was not operational (works) and they offered valet parking off-site. The little problem is that you needed 30 mins to get your car (you need to plan in advance). We didn't use it for this reason, as it was very easy to find parking in front of the hotel, but it is not convenient for a long time as it is "coin operated" and the maximum stay is 2 h (from 8:00 to 18:00). Also, it is not a cheap hotel or restaurant (but that is often the case in Boston).
Goodyear location Silent Comfort bads Very close to subway
My accomodation was including breakfast but the hotel limited our breakfast as 50 dollars as a family. For that reason I had to pay money for the breakfast .
Excellent hotel accommodations, and staff, convenient to major attractions, business centers, and all Boston has to offer
No on site parking available, nor any parking garages nearby. There is meter parking, just not realistic for an overnight guest. They do offer valet parking at a premium cost of $45.00 without tip; they require 20min notice to retrieve your car and during peak times it can take much, much longer to get your vehicle. I waited almost 45min to get my car which made me late for an appointment.
Upgraded us and gave complimentary champagne for our honeymoon! Wonderful Experience!
the room was clean( why should an hotel at 400$ have a dirty room?) WIFI included . Waiters at breakfast were nice Young and smiling , this does not compensate though !
Coming out of Greenwich Hotel in New York and comparing this hotel I can just say it is overpriced , no slippers in the room , empty fridge running all the time in the room, no bath robes , a small bath tub , apart the kitsch taste , the value of this hotel does not eceed the one of an Holiday inn,
friendly and helpful staff
Bathroom products had previously been used (half empty) Found hair clips in the carpet Panel on the wall was falling off by TV For c$600 per night I expected more.
Very nice hotel and staff. Will come back for sure.
The room was nice and the staff was wonderful. Location was great. We hope to return someday when the occasion warrants.
No soda machines near the ice machines.
