included breakfast a plus for families
We were quite happy with our staying for I had read the review of pros and cons - and its all about location. The subway is right around the corner, flat iron, great coffee shops and restaurants. Macys and other shopping stores as well. Plain hotel but very clean.
Would like to have change the plastic/paper cutlery and dishes to be more environmentally friendly.
Location. Breakfast. Coffee bar. Quiet street. View of empire state from 11th floor room.
Hotel should replace plastic plates and cutlery w real stuff. Noisy air conditioning.
During holidays season, the hotel had just one functioning elevator. The service elevator was out of order and in the morning we had to wait 25 minutes to get the elevator . 10 floors with lagguage was not possible!
The staff was very friendly and helpful during the day as we checked-in and went about our activities. Coffee and food was decent, lobby was nice, and the room was very nice as well. It was a very nice place to stay.
The hide-a-bed couch in our room didn't actually open all the way because it was bigger than the space in which it sat! It did work for us as we turned the sofa around, however it left barely enough space to open the room door. The evening staff was not quite so nice or polite when it came to getting some bedding and pillows for the hide-a-bed, but did eventually bring them to our room.
Convenient location, very helpful staff.
Clean and comfortable but dated facilities. Nothing fancy.
The location was nice as it was close to many things, and easy access to the subway. The continental breakfast was also very nice. Plenty of options and well stocked.
Rooms are super tiny. This works out fine because we were mostly there to just sleep. Things just feel a little bit old.
Alright breakfast, excellent localisation! Good rooms with comfortable beds.
Booked 2 family rooms and a twin bed room for a Girl Scout trip. Requested that we all be on the same floor and the staff made sure we were. We really lucked out with 2 of the rooms having a view of the Empire State building. Surprisingly quiet, at the 4th floor. Dining area wasn't cramped and was plenty big enough for our group of 14 and then some.
Breakfast was fair. The fridge was not cooling and the cream cheese was warm. Didn't trust it so we didn't even try the yogurts.
Everything was perfect for me..I highly recommend this hotel..
Well, The costumer service was bad , but I saw that New York city doesn't has good costumer service anywhere, so I think the hotel has the same level of costumer service that the rest of the city..
Near subway shops, easy to get around
Double bed is small but comfortable
Very clean and comfortable... Really enjoyed our stay
Good location for our visits... decent room... comfortable bed... great view.
No hot water in sink. Shower OK though.
The bed linens had an odor and lock other than deadbolt was plastic
The staff was very helpful in getting me checked in 90 min. before the 3:00 check in time, there was a smile for me every morning, & help finding food and laundry services. They even printed out maps for me. Baggage storage for the $1/bag (very reasonable). Breakfast was good. Two elevators, slow moving, but the wait is not long at all. Clean room everyday; friendly cleaning staff. Free Wi-Fi and fridge in room. A grocery and drugstore at the end of the block. Laundry within walking distance. The room was typically small but still one of the largest I've had in NYC and it was in the side area with only 3 other rooms, so very quiet. And location, location , location! I was only a few blocks or less from four major subway lines.
I would have liked a small microwave in the room. The blow dryer cord is so stiff I had a hard time using it in front of the mirror. The only ice machine is in the lobby so the fridge was handy to help keep things cold. Wi-Fi was slow.
A bit run down, staff not really friendly. Hotel is holding back deposit on bank account for too long.
Well run. Good staff. Great Location. Basic room but for the price worth it!
Location was perfect..
Obviously a non hotel sitting resident in a room opposite to ours... It was very smelly in the corridor!
I just love the ubication you can walk ti Pennstation, Madison Square Garden, Times Square and a lot of Restaurants, crossing the street have the Subway to stops to the 42th & Brodway shows.
Free wifi available in the room which is always good if you're coming from abroad and want to make calls home. The room was small but comfortable. Location was excellent with several different subway lines 5-10 minutes away on foot.
The view from the room was a brick wall but we didn't spend much time at the hotel so it wasn't an issue.
Good location and we had a room with separate bedroom for us, so we didn't all have to sleep in the same room, which was nice. Breakfast was great - good variety and plenty of food.
We only stayed one night of our holiday here, but it would be too cramped if we were going to stay longer.
The convenience of the location in relation to eating establishments & subway stations was perfect. Front desk guy, Michael was VERY helpful & friendly.
Pastries could be a little fresher, but otherwise a fine breakfast.
location is good, free wifi, breakfast okay, its clean and you have everything you need
AC was too noisy, no daylight because of other buildings, bad smell in the room
For Manhattan, Comfort Inn Chelsea is a bargain. It's a great location; near Eataly, Madison Square Park, subways, shopping and more. From our room on the 6th floor, you can't hear any traffic noise at all. Breakfast is included and even though there are tons of great places to eat in NYC, if you want to grab a light breakfast before heading out, it's a perfect option.
The only drawback of the hotel are the very small rooms. If you're at all claustrophobic, you might want to ask to see your room before hand. Ours was really tiny, just enough space for the queen size bed. Maybe not all the rooms are like this, but I heard other guests talking about this, so I'm thinking we weren't alone. Also, there was a nice flat screen TV in the room, but no HD/digital service so it's like watching TV 10 years ago. It's not a big deal, but at the end of the day if you want to catch the news or weather, it's not great. Wi-Fi was fine.
Staff was pleasant, helpful, answered questions. Breakfast had a lot of variety, economical (free) and nice area to sit in. I have already recommended CCI to friends as being very convenient and economical (through your company). Sheets/towels were clean and in good shape. TV reception good.
Elevator was incredibly slow. The bathroom window did not lock which felt a bit creepy. I did say something at end of stay and front desk person said they would look into it. When I checked out I wasn't offered a receipt in any form and had to ask for one. The 1 weekend night that I stayed had a different price from when I remember booking (although the original total may have been the same and just the breakdown per night was different). I was waiting for my credit card bill to arrive before I answered survey.
