Good location and we had a room with separate bedroom for us, so we didn't all have to sleep in the same room, which was nice. Breakfast was great - good variety and plenty of food.
We only stayed one night of our holiday here, but it would be too cramped if we were going to stay longer.
The convenience of the location in relation to eating establishments & subway stations was perfect. Front desk guy, Michael was VERY helpful & friendly.
Pastries could be a little fresher, but otherwise a fine breakfast.
location is good, free wifi, breakfast okay, its clean and you have everything you need
AC was too noisy, no daylight because of other buildings, bad smell in the room
For Manhattan, Comfort Inn Chelsea is a bargain. It's a great location; near Eataly, Madison Square Park, subways, shopping and more. From our room on the 6th floor, you can't hear any traffic noise at all. Breakfast is included and even though there are tons of great places to eat in NYC, if you want to grab a light breakfast before heading out, it's a perfect option.
The only drawback of the hotel are the very small rooms. If you're at all claustrophobic, you might want to ask to see your room before hand. Ours was really tiny, just enough space for the queen size bed. Maybe not all the rooms are like this, but I heard other guests talking about this, so I'm thinking we weren't alone. Also, there was a nice flat screen TV in the room, but no HD/digital service so it's like watching TV 10 years ago. It's not a big deal, but at the end of the day if you want to catch the news or weather, it's not great. Wi-Fi was fine.
Staff was pleasant, helpful, answered questions. Breakfast had a lot of variety, economical (free) and nice area to sit in. I have already recommended CCI to friends as being very convenient and economical (through your company). Sheets/towels were clean and in good shape. TV reception good.
Elevator was incredibly slow. The bathroom window did not lock which felt a bit creepy. I did say something at end of stay and front desk person said they would look into it. When I checked out I wasn't offered a receipt in any form and had to ask for one. The 1 weekend night that I stayed had a different price from when I remember booking (although the original total may have been the same and just the breakdown per night was different). I was waiting for my credit card bill to arrive before I answered survey.
Location was good and the staff helpful and professional.
location was great, room had view of empire state building
got bitten by mosquitoes
Shake shack right around the corner in Madison square park!
Staff was a bit inconsistent. Some were friendly, others rude. Concierge required us to pay $1 per bag to hold them for us while we sight see. Every other hotel I've been to offers this service free of charge. So I found that fee annoying.
really excellent staff very comfortable bed
the hotel was a little difficult to find due to the construction scaffolding on that street, but that will hopefully be gone soon
The bed was exceptionally comfortable for a hotel with many firm and soft pillows.
Guest or housekeeping slamming doors -- that can happen anywhere.
The room and breakfest is ok
The elevator was terrible, and some days they came to clean the room like 6pm ...
the location, the facilities, the kindness of the staff, the fact of having a smoking room
The location of this hotel was ideal. Very close to metro lines, nice grocery store, restaurants (the shake shack was just a couple of minutes away), quiet area, and only a 10 minute walk to Empire State Building. We had a view of it from our window which was very nice.
The rooms are small, but it worked for our family of 5. The beds are comfortable and the family suite suited our family well, except for the small bathroom.
Great, safe location! Clean. Room was smaller then what Im used to, but I am from CA so... I think for NYC, the room size was just fine. I was comfortable! Good breakfast.
I can't think of anything.
Breakfast was well done Room was clean
Not a good bed
The location is excellent. A few steps from the metro. Many interesting restaurants nearby. Good beds and clean room.
I did not like the breakfast. To many sweet products, no cheese or ham, the bread was boring. I was also quite upset about the use of paper plates and all plastic cups. It was a mountain of garbage every morning. How environment friendly is that.
Great location, and it was exactly what we needed for a couple of nights in the city. The staff was helpful, and breakfast was good. We will definitely stay there again.
Location is superb. Rates are very reasonable, staff is helpful, hotel is quiet. We stay here on most of our visits to NYC.
The hotel is often full so at times the wait for an elevator can be a little slow. This is a very minor inconvenience.
- good location - view on empire state building - capacity to let luggage first and last day
- breakfast (served in paper plate and plastic knife for a 300 $ room !) - price - small room, and cooler system really noisy
I liked that my daughter had access to free Wi-Fi, that is very important to her. I liked that when I reported a maintenance situation the gentleman was prompt, helpful, pleasant and really professional. I liked that we had three beds and we could all sleep comfortably. And I liked that the staff was very service oriented.
I didn't like the breakfast quality and the area in which it was served. I also was quite put off by the fact that they charge for suitcases to be held after check-out and while waiting for our flight. This is a service that every hotel I have been to has offered free of charge, no matter where I have been in the world. It is quite appalling; it feels like nickel and diming. The concierge was so sweet and apologetic, I couldn't really express to her my disgust with the policy, since it is not really her fault. She also provided great service.
Midtown location, junction of 5th Ave and Broadway, quiet street. Coffee avaialable 24 hrs. Comfortable beds.
Most rooms interior, some machinery (a/c?) a bit noisy.
Was close to where I needed to be - easy walking distance to office. A lot of great restaurants close by as well.
Rooms horribly small. Free breakfast was uninspired.
Dear Sirs, Everything was very good and the staff really put themselves out to make our stay more enjoyable including advice about local amenities, All in all a very enjoyable stay. Mqny Thanks John Jarvis
Good location, staff friendly and helpful, would stay again would recommend
Great Location, view of Empire State, nice decor in room, very quiet & comfortable bed
Corridor carpet, more could have been made of breakfast room - nice floor and ceiling to room let down by colour chosen for walls
