- no wifi in the hotel rooms - no hair-dryer - sink in the room (not in the bathroom - very old lift - had to push the door very hard - expensive - bad value for money
The place was dingy. The elevator was 80 years of age and it closes before you enter into the hotel. This place is more for youngsters traveling and wanting an adventure. The front desk was very polite and hospitable. The reservation was booked for 8/28 and I checked in at 4:30. I terminated my reservation after two hours 7:00pm. I took my elderly parent's and I to another property. I thank you for this survey.
No ice machine our coffee maker but was very close to a trader Joe's ask that was helpful.
The only good point is the location ,close for every thing even a few steps to grace cathedral.
It only cleans once a week. one day I had to leaving my room for 4 hours to they do a antiparasitic clean . They security man didn't let me take my friend into my room before it was after 10 pm, they door lady is a nice woman and never complain about those visits . Doesn't have internet in the rooms only on the first floor ,I was on 3th so nothing
Good location, 15 minutes walk to Fisherman´s Warf. Nice and friendly staff, the manager moved us quickly to another room when complaining about the noisein ours. Clean place, perfect for a 3 days stay. Cable Car has the stop just in front of the hotel. Area can become a bit creepy at night but not dangerous. The price is a bit high for the conditions, but these are San Francisco prices (you pay a lot for housing and get liitle, compared to other places, e.g Los Angles, Las Vegas). Totally recommend the place especially for the location.
I believe this hotel is the perfect choice for anybody who is looking for a clean place to sleep with a private bathroom, very good location and excellent staff
You can hear the sound of the street all the time, nobody will clean the room or change the towels unless you ask for it.
the hotel was awesome! The location was perfect to where we were going. The staff was nice and helpful, he even gave us a map and showed us where to avoid and where to defenitely go. He even told us about some food network restaurants near by. There was roof access so it was awesome to be able to go up there and hang out and watch the city lights. We were highly satisfied and will for sure go back!
No parking available for guests staying at the hotel.
I love that it is on California St. and the cable cars go by, but this can also make it a bit noisy. There is a secure gated entrance to the building. The room was nice, had a small fridge and microwave. The bed was comfortable.
You cannot check in before 3 p.m. Also, no way to check your bags if you arrive early, so you have to sit in the lobby with them until you check in.
Location is great.
Staff were not helpful, one even turning his back during a conversation. Reception is only 9am-5pm. I arrived at 7.30pm and waited 1 hour panicking outside. Finally got checked in at 9pm. Room was very dirty. Fridge was full of dead flies and bathroom was unclean. Extremely noisy at night with traffic and cable car.
You cannot check into the hotel without calling someone to let you in the front door. We had to argue with the front desk clerk about the number of beds that were supposed to be in the room (2 not 1), upon check out the front desk clerk had no idea what room we were in, so he made us go back upstairs to prove that we were in the room number we stated. For the price we paid ($500+) I was completely disappointed!!
small room, lift out of order, plastic covering the floor in the stair case, not WiFi in the room (only in the lobby), old windows so very noisy
Place is clean and only a 20 minute walk to the financial district.
Beds were uncomfortable and it took time to get the window shut in the bathroom.
Clean and new renovated. Secure location. Got bigger room for two when complaining on small and noisy room in first floor.
1200 USD for a tiny and noisy room the 2 first days of 5 days staying. Internet only on first floor.
Walking distance to Union Square There is a fridge
The noise that was caused because of the location
Really fun area, walking distance to a lot of attractions and right on the cable cart route.
Staff was very strange. Slow and unprofessional. When we asked for a recommendation for a good restaurant, he told us to look on a map!
The manager, Erkan, was very polite and helpful but obviously limited by the hours the hotel was manned. It was on a cable car route so that made getting around a little easier. Free wifi was good and there were cafes across the road.
The room did not have a wardrobe so impossible to hang clothing and the room was not large so suitcases on the floor open for use were a bit of a problem. Checkout was ok and we were able to leave our suitcases in the hotel room until mid afternoon, but our flight to New York was late at night so we were stuck with having to sit around the airport for hours which was a waste of time that could have been better spent enjoying San Francisco. Reason the luggage could not be kept at the hotel---they close the office at 4pm! Crazy arrangement for a hotel in a major city.
didn't clean rooms had to ask for fresh towels slept over a workout studio that was loud every morning at 6:00AM receptionist never there at front desk
Location, cleanliness, resident manager was friendly
Loud throbbing music originating from the gym next door starting at 6 am! No house keeping! No fresh towels during 3 night stay! Narrow
The Cable Car Court is located very central to many of the places worth seeing an visiting in San Francisco. And as the name says the hotel is close to the cable cars. That's all there is to like at this hotel.
Never before have I experienced such an arrogant hotel manager as Erkan at the Cable Car Court. At arrival I asked where we could park - the hotel manager Erkan answered very rude "I am a hotel manager, not a parking assistant". Luckily a man out on the street could help me find a garage. Later when I told him the room was not cleaned very well, Erkan's reaction was: "If you don't like it, you can leave". We also overheard him being very rude to other guests. Our room was very small and worn out. The hotel really needed a refurbishment.
Location, laid back staff, cleanliness
Noise from the cable car, pretty small room
One of the best price in the city for sufficient quality, safe entrance
No storage, no room cleaning for 7 days, noisy customers inside (high volume radio and tv all day and night long)
First of all the management running the front desk was horrible. Very unfriendly, rude, disrespectful and inconsiderate. Didn't care about my guest or how welcomed we felt. All they cared about was rushing to check me into my room without going over all the guidelines and rules of the hotel. It was like all the wanted was my money and nothing else. Highly suggest if you are a couple and looking for a place that is comfortable, kick back, with friendly service and easy going NOT TO GO THERE.
1) Fridge in the room. 2) Location next to a stop of the Cable Car, where it is not so crowded, so always possible to get on-board without waiting. 3) Some nice bars nearby (check out Polk street).
1) No any cleaning of the rooms during stay (I've stayed there for almost two weeks). 2) It is also next to the worst district of the town (if you walk from the Market street, the central street of SF, to the hotel, you'll see all kinds of poor, homeless dirty people on the way). 3) A guard on the doors after 22:00, and no-guests after 22:00 policy. Finally, I have not tried to bring anybody, so don't know, whether they are strict about it, but if I stay in a double room alone, I feel like being able to bring someone for a night, if I am up to.
Our stay was a fantastic experience. Great value for the money. I traveled with my kids for our vacation, and Erkan was a great resource and very kind and professional. We enjoyed checking out the neighborhood, which had a Trader Joe's and CVS nearby. The Chinese/Mandarin restaurant across from Trader Joes was delicious, and my girls and I got mani's/pedis from the little place next to the restaurant. Having a refrigerator and microwave in the room were a huge help. I will return here if my travels bring me back to San Francisco
A coffee pot in the room would be the only thing I would say I missed.
It is misleading to call this place a hotel, since it is really a poor-quality hostel. The price of over $200 per night was outrageous and I recommend avoiding this place at all costs. I did not feel safe there. The place feels run-down and depressing. A dog-eared notice in the hallway refers to 'guests and tenants' and I had the impression of being in some sort of halfway house for people with troubled circumstances. A uniformed security guard sits at the entrance during the night. I left after one night and had to make expensive alternate arrangements for the rest of my stay in San Francisco.
