I love that it is on California St. and the cable cars go by, but this can also make it a bit noisy. There is a secure gated entrance to the building. The room was nice, had a small fridge and microwave. The bed was comfortable.
You cannot check in before 3 p.m. Also, no way to check your bags if you arrive early, so you have to sit in the lobby with them until you check in.
small room, lift out of order, plastic covering the floor in the stair case, not WiFi in the room (only in the lobby), old windows so very noisy
Walking distance to Union Square There is a fridge
The noise that was caused because of the location
Location, cleanliness, resident manager was friendly
Loud throbbing music originating from the gym next door starting at 6 am! No house keeping! No fresh towels during 3 night stay! Narrow
The Cable Car Court is located very central to many of the places worth seeing an visiting in San Francisco. And as the name says the hotel is close to the cable cars. That's all there is to like at this hotel.
Never before have I experienced such an arrogant hotel manager as Erkan at the Cable Car Court. At arrival I asked where we could park - the hotel manager Erkan answered very rude "I am a hotel manager, not a parking assistant". Luckily a man out on the street could help me find a garage. Later when I told him the room was not cleaned very well, Erkan's reaction was: "If you don't like it, you can leave". We also overheard him being very rude to other guests. Our room was very small and worn out. The hotel really needed a refurbishment.
Location, laid back staff, cleanliness
Noise from the cable car, pretty small room
One of the best price in the city for sufficient quality, safe entrance
No storage, no room cleaning for 7 days, noisy customers inside (high volume radio and tv all day and night long)
First of all the management running the front desk was horrible. Very unfriendly, rude, disrespectful and inconsiderate. Didn't care about my guest or how welcomed we felt. All they cared about was rushing to check me into my room without going over all the guidelines and rules of the hotel. It was like all the wanted was my money and nothing else. Highly suggest if you are a couple and looking for a place that is comfortable, kick back, with friendly service and easy going NOT TO GO THERE.
1) Fridge in the room. 2) Location next to a stop of the Cable Car, where it is not so crowded, so always possible to get on-board without waiting. 3) Some nice bars nearby (check out Polk street).
1) No any cleaning of the rooms during stay (I've stayed there for almost two weeks). 2) It is also next to the worst district of the town (if you walk from the Market street, the central street of SF, to the hotel, you'll see all kinds of poor, homeless dirty people on the way). 3) A guard on the doors after 22:00, and no-guests after 22:00 policy. Finally, I have not tried to bring anybody, so don't know, whether they are strict about it, but if I stay in a double room alone, I feel like being able to bring someone for a night, if I am up to.
Our stay was a fantastic experience. Great value for the money. I traveled with my kids for our vacation, and Erkan was a great resource and very kind and professional. We enjoyed checking out the neighborhood, which had a Trader Joe's and CVS nearby. The Chinese/Mandarin restaurant across from Trader Joes was delicious, and my girls and I got mani's/pedis from the little place next to the restaurant. Having a refrigerator and microwave in the room were a huge help. I will return here if my travels bring me back to San Francisco
A coffee pot in the room would be the only thing I would say I missed.
It is misleading to call this place a hotel, since it is really a poor-quality hostel. The price of over $200 per night was outrageous and I recommend avoiding this place at all costs. I did not feel safe there. The place feels run-down and depressing. A dog-eared notice in the hallway refers to 'guests and tenants' and I had the impression of being in some sort of halfway house for people with troubled circumstances. A uniformed security guard sits at the entrance during the night. I left after one night and had to make expensive alternate arrangements for the rest of my stay in San Francisco.
The place is at the hub of San Francisco. Different destinations are easily accessible from this place. Decentplace to spend the night.
The place doesn't operate as a hotel. No one maintains the room if you need cleaning and the reception is only open on certain hours of the day. Requires a security deposit which they did not divulge during the booking. Full payment for the entire stay is made in advance.
Location Safety Cleanliness Staff Room
Poor kitchen facilities Uncomfortable table and chair in the rooms
I like the location, easy access to restaurants and attractions.
No air conditioning, and there is no parking.
Nothing.. Halfway houses are not my style.
Everything. Ew. Slept with both eyes open.
Very weird place to stay. My room stank of paint that gave my a headache.
It is a secure apartment. There are microwave and medium size refrigerator.
There is no WiFi signal in the room. We have to go downstairs into the public place for Internet. The size of bedroom is small. And, the staffs clean the room once a week. They usually cannot do in time when you call room cleaning.
The room for the price and location was OK. I don't need much from a hotel, just a decent bed and clean room.
There was absolutely no customer service. The staff was incredibly rude and unaccommodating. We were in town for business and had a late flight going home at 8:30pm. We asked for a late check out because we really didn't have anywhere to put our luggage while we enjoyed the city, they said no, anything after 12noon we would need to pay for a full extra day. We couldn't afford that and understood that they needed to get the room cleaned. So we asked if they could store our luggage somewhere so we could go enjoy our last day in the city without dragging our bags around town. The manager said no they have no room. We politely tried to figure something out and the manager refused to help us at all. We gave up and went to breakfast, we ran a little late coming back and the manager refused to give me my deposit back and continued to hound us until we left. Stranded on the side of a San Francisco street with all our luggage. Other things that happened during our stay ... we asked for change at the front office for a $10 bill since my girlfriend didn't feel well and wanted some water and crackers from the vending machine. The staff said no that money was only for their customers ... as far as I knew we were customers paying good money to stay there, but oh well. The janitor over heard and helped us out. He looked like he was fed up with the staff as well. When we arrived to the hotel no one was there, the first lady we found was not helpful and also refused to store our luggage anywhere until check in. This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. I'd much rather stay in a motel 6 or similar. I will not be back.
12 O Clock check out time.
I felt like the elevator was going to break on me. The blanket was thin and there was no heater. It was cold despite being July. Due to being near downtown, it was very loud. A king bed was advertised, I received a full. There was a dead bug on the sink.
Well worn, creaky floors and stairs. WiFi did not work well from room, had to go to common area to use it.
Quiet room Location Value compared to other hotels in area
When I checked out in the morning there was nobody to turn in my keys to, so left them in room. I then received a call later that day that I had not checked out on time. I told them there was nobody there at 0700 to check out with and I left the keys in the room.
The place was clean and close to where we wanted to go.
They wouldn't let us bring our bikes into the hotel. They say this on the terms and conditions, but he was quite rude about it. There is definitely spaces bikes could be kept in the building. Also he wouldn't let us into the building to check in. We needed to wait outside until another guest let us in, even though the guy running the desk was in the office.
funny and great people there fair deal for that money. 1 $ drinks at lobby good district - good location in san francisco
some wlan booster would be a great investment. because i got it in room too - but with very low connetionspeed.
Small - one entry key - loud
