No matter what time we haved checked in(sometmes after midnight) the staff are always warm and friendly. The beds are firm(I like it that way) and the rooms spotless. It is 2 minutes away from the San Diego airport so perfect for the night before an early flight stay.
No coffee in the rooms(yet) They are doing some room renovating so I hope the next time we stay I won't have to wait until 7am for my morning coffee fix.
The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated.
Found a white piece in the security box, which was not pleasurable.
Was quiet and parking was underground and off street.
The bathroom door had a huge hole in it covered with paper and scotch tape, The lamp shades were shredded, One lamp was broken with wiring hanging out of it on the left side of the bed.. I payed for a non smoking room that wreaked of cigarrette smoke. Needs a more skilled maintenance staff that can maintain their property and make it the gem it should be.
The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was clean and didn't smell like mildew, which I have experienced in hotels that costed twice as much.
Parking garage was small, but it wasn't bad.
Danish and coffee in the morning View of the city from the balcony Nearby stores and shoreline Price better than many other hotels
Rock hard bed with no fitted sheet Smelly room Many loose tiles in bathroom Window had no locks Some lights would not work Ice machine that eats money Unreliable WiFi Parking garage perfect size for golf carts
The price... the openers of the court yard and the view of downtown.
The beds, the breakfast and the outdated decor.
The staff was welcoming and extremely helpful. The hotel has everything a traveler needs: hair drier, iron, fridge and microwave in the room, air condition. Nice room, speedy wifi and good news report channels on tv. Breakfast places across the street. I warmly recommend Shelter Island for an evening or morning walk nearby, calm and beautiful.
The hotel is mainly of wood, and the paint smells strange. I know it is "meant to be so", as this kind of old paint smells like that. But I don't like it.
Wonderful value in the heart of the beauty of San Diego. I would definitely stay here again. Friendly and helpful staff; quiet, comfortable room; zero complaints!
Not much outside noise
Very welcoming! Will stay again if ever needed! Thank you!
Location location Location, and wow what a view. The people that work there were very nice.
everything else sheets sucked. tvs were outdated, ice machine was down. this place could rock and I hope it will soon but now its not what it could be.
The location is excellent. Staff is friendly.
The room has an old smell. The bathroom floor had some mold and the bathroom fan had no cover, was full of dust and covering bathroom light with dust also. The mattress was very hard. Hurt to sleep on for a week.
great location, very walkable neighborhood, free wifi & breakfast is a huge plus.
the hotel could really use a good deep clean on the carpets & bathroom but overall this is great value for money
Great Location! / 4th Floor Scenic Balcony for all Guests looking over Boats & City Sky Line!
Bed lumpy and uncomfortable, carpet worn clear through to the bare floor in spots. Very small room.
very nice place near the harbour close to all directions very safe near by very good restaurants
slightly more noisy from the main street
excellent price for late September. Only stayed one night. Great location great view from hotel for only $44.
the hotel is really old the bathroom is very tiny shower head to my shoulders.air condition shroud was broken. Air conditioner wouldn't stay on
Situation very good Price okay for San Diego
Some noise from other rooms
Location was good. Staff very helpful and friendly.
We liked the location and the free wi-fi.
The room was shabby: carpet had visable holes; upholstered chair had large stains; the bed was unbalanced, tilted down on one side, and very hard (not a good night); there was no screen on the window; the air conditioner wasn't very effective; one bedside lamp looked like a junkyard find (peeling paint) and it's switch was broken; and the TV was dusty
Front desk customer service was perfect, could not say nicer things about the service I received while checking in.
From the outside it looked perfect but once inside was another story. Looks as if a large portion of the rooms are checked out to people who live there. The room was dirty, lamp shades broken, curtains and sheets that were stained, no air conditioning and a window/sliding glass door that didn't shut properly leaving a 12 inch gap. Everything was filthy, damaged or both. I didn't want to touch anything or go barefoot as that was how dirty the room was.
As stated above
While the hotel is not luxurious and the rooms not particularly spacious, the location is ideal, the rooms are cozy and clean, and the staff made our stay excellent. We were going to a concert at Humphrey's by the Bay (a 10 minute walk from the hotel) and the man working the front desk (he might have been the owner) allowed us to use his printer to print our tickets. Then he offered us a ride to the concert. Since we were running a little late, we accepted. He refused to let us pay or tip him for the ride and wished us a wonderful night. If you have business or vacation plans in the Point Loma area and don't want to spend too much for a place to sleep, I highly recommend this cozy little hotel. They will make you feel very welcome!
The location is the only thing likeable.
Did not like the way the staff talked down to us. The rooms are shabby and outdated. The bed was like sleeping on uneven rocks. It was so uncomfortable that we left at 3:30 am to another hotel.
Extremely friendly staff. The owner gave us a few rides when he was free for only 15$ when a cab would have been 30. Great location, nice view of downtown. Felt safe and comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longrr
Nothing, you get exactly what you pay for. A small cozy hotel. Liquor and grocery store across street!
