The location was great.
The room needed a deep clean . . . carpets and upholstery etc.
I liked the location. It is literally just a few steps away from the boardwalk. The room was super tiny, but if I looked sideways out the window, I could see the ocean. It was very clean. The staff was friendly and welcoming.
Very noisy, both from within and from outside. Blaring thumping music from a downstairs business is pervasive throughout the day. The parking lot is ridiculously small. The restaurant next door noisily picks up all its many outside tables and chairs at 11 pm and sets them out again at 6 am. A lot of young people stay at this hotel, and they come in talking loudly and slamming doors anywhere from 2-4 am. Walls are thin so you can hear everybody's TV. Booking.com did not indicate that Friday night would cost $20 more than Thursday night, although if I'd done the math, I would have figured that out by myself. You are also charged for wifi whether you want it or not.
The location was great, right on the beach. The bed was comfortable. The wifi was fast and the Lobby was spacious and inviting.
The room was rundown. The toilet paper holder was falling off the wall, the toilet seat was broken and the shower head was broken. It's not the end of the world per say but for the price, I was expecting a bit more.
Cleanliness Cheap but really nice Amazing location Staff were unbelievablely helpful
Very nice and helpfull staff, beach in front of the hotel,
I loved the location and the roof top view of ocean staff was awesome
I didn't like that I had to pay 20$ for parking but that location and view made up for it
The view from my room and the lobby
The location and the staff
The walls are very thin. Could tell what my neighbors were talking about just sitting in my room. Unfortunately, it was not interesting at all.
Friendly and helpful staff, excellent wifi and located next to the beach.
The free coffee was of poor quality - either offer something decent - or don't offer anything.
I like the bathroom
The lack of cleanliness, the carpet was black of how filthy! The heater doesn't work in cold, winter, 38°F. The lights are broken. The place had no ADA bathroom handles.
I have been coming to this hotel for many years and have always found it very comfortable and would recommend it again.
not having free WiFi
You can't beat the location, you leave the hotel and walk directly onto the famed Venice walkway and beach. Beautiful views of the ocean!
The room was listed as having a mini fridge, but it didn't have one. Very limited amount of parking, had to pay to park my car overnight a few blocks away.
Rooftop access is great for BYO wine and people watch, sunsets, probably suntanning.
European style elevator and rooms, small.
The size of the bath, ATM in front of the door, right at the beach
everything is very old and used, the elevator was old and in bad condition so we used the stairs into the 4th floor, never saw such a dirty carpet at a hotel room before (it contained stains of the last 10 years I think), we had to pay extra for the wifi (even when we didn't use it), awful smell of chemicals in the room, a lot of homeless ppl around
location and cost
I love the location and the idea of being on the Sand basically.
I didn't like the fact the rooms were so Small & there was next to no furniture in the room.
Location was unquestionably awesome, and I liked the art deco feel although my other companions thought it was tacky.
Very run down, cramped rooms awful bathroom. No breakfast. Mediocre staff, did their job but not memorable. Really really outdated. Incredibly overpriced. Shouldn't be more than $90 per night for this hovel.
What's on the website is nothing like the experience. It's false advertising. Room is dirty. Soap dish in shower is cracked and broken. Towel had brown stains on it. Carpet was stained with wet marks. Bed was extremely uncomfortable. Couldn't close window. Tv remote didn't work. Closet doors wouldn't open. All in am a huge disappointment for $209 tax incl.
I liked the location because we were right on the boardwalk and had a great view of the ocean, but the view was from the balcony of the hotel, not from our room.
This hotel is old and they charge way too much. We didn't have a fridge in our room and had to pay for Wi-Fi. If you want something more luxurious, don't stay here.
The location was right on the beach which was good.
The room smelt of urine so much we dropped our bags off and ran out to the nearest bar! If we were staying more than one night we would have left and found somewhere else to go.
The location & nearby restaurants in culture were awesome. not exactly the four seasons but very comfortable and very cheap. I recommend it. the staff was very accommodating.
our refrigerator had a malfunction and they had to remove it from our room. also, our heater started acting up so they brought us and a mini space heater.
Excellent service, super nice staff, awesome roof top, best Location, beach view
Dirty carpet in room, very simple toillets, no Extras in room, but still clean
room is stinky and dark
Nice for a smaller family.
The room was to small for 5 people. Very hot and stuffy. No air con. Fan ticked all night. Also didn't like drunks and homeless on the footpath outside the hotel.
