Everything! The rooms, BBQ area, grounds and pool areas were always kept clean! The pool area always had plenty of towels and lots of chairs and couches to sit out both in the sun and shade. There was always plenty of fresh hot coffee too. The facilities has lots of flowers and plants that provide a cozy and comfortable ambiance.
nothing wrong with the hotel really, I just felt it was rather over priced for the style of room we got. The rooms were in desperate need of modernising as they look very dated, however we seemed to payouts a high price for such a room. Staff not really that knowledgeable about the area when asked where I could go wine tasting. The pool and spa were lovely, and the gardens were very beautiful. All in all an ok hotel that is probably a little over priced for what it offers.
Hotel rooms were very worn and dated-- carpet, furniture, etc from many decades ago... Bed was only newish thing. Price was more than double what it should have been--- they are charging high due to demand but not providing what other places are for the crazy high price.
calistoga is a great little town
The resort needs a facelift. A bit out of date and tired looking.
Intimate pool setting with nice landscaping. The beds are comfortable with nice pillows. Nice size rooms. Pools and related facilities were very clean and well kept.
The pools are fabulous. The gardens give the place an unbelievably delightful ambiance. Smelling the flowers is therapeutic in itself.
Some how we didn't get a Kitchen so had to up grade. So it did cost more money this time.
It is just a great place to Relax. It does seem more for the Mature Traveler without Children. Better to go through the week, and not on weekends .
Everything was perfect
I highly recommend the hot mineral pools. Besides, the bedroom is large and comfortable.
Close to everything, just walk
I liked everything, Good customer service. We had a really nice time.
Very dated, no safe, overpriced, needs a completed facelift.
Excellent location within walking distance to restaurants and shops.
Roman Spas is a great value and reminiscent of the "golden age" of hot spring vacations. Staff was friendly, massage was terrific and the facilities, while a bit dated, were well tended. Thoroughly enjoyed by stay!
Location, pools, cost,spa
Pools Spa and Massages great Shopping and Restaurants nice Clean
The staff is unfriendly
We loved the quirky American motel style. I can highly recommend the mud bath in the spa and it was a pleasure to wallow in the swimming pool and Jacuzzi at higher than normal temperatures and the abundance of humming birds and woodpeckers. The mineral springs worked wonders on my mild excema which disappeared completely during our stay.
Peace and serenity. Beautiful place!
People walking in the room above us made too much noise (creaky floor) early in the morning. I'd ask for an upstairs room next time.
We really enjoyed the resort and it's close proximity to restaurants and shops in Calistoga as well as the Napa Valley. Staff was helpful, the rooms were comfortable, and the pool very relaxing. Would stay again.
Additional charges for each child. Usually they stay free with adults
needed to reenter wifi info constantly
Room next to housekeepers room.
I liked the complex but the room was a bit over priced. Bed was comfortable.
This is not necessarily a minus, but a rather large group of seniors booked rooms by the pool, leaving their doors open and partying on the pool patio for the 3 days we were there. It was a little off-putting how they took over the area. But they were having a great time!
Basic rooms were fine, very clean, nice amenities. Mineral pools were lovely. Enjoyed spa massages, mud baths and mineral baths. Upgrading rooms looked very nice - if we go back, I would consider a better room. Just a block off the Main Street, easy to explore the town.
i would like to see a few updates in the rooms but the property is so clean its easy not to worry about upgrades.
location, friendly staff, the grounds are always so clean & pretty. We love the way you keep up with the seasons. I wish I could more often. we also like having a small kitchen on some visits.
