I really liked this hotel, specially for the price paid. The rooms are regular size, so is the bathroom. Confortable beds and pillows. Great complimentary wi-fi
Towels are small and shower drops little water, those are details but were the only downside in my opinion.
Staff deserves compliments for doing their best to salvage what was a tough situation beyond their control. They reinstated our confidence in the hotel and we would stay there again thanks to them. Hotel is actually quite nice.
Wifi didn't work in our first room. Elevator was being repaired.
location price for location safe in room morning coffee in the lobby
Humid room-even with ac on, even during dry days. Hot water becoming cold during shower. Didn't feel safe with the staircase and main hotel side door not locked at all.
location of the hotel friendly and helpful staff the room was fresh and modern
no real facilities - no bar or restaurant
Elevator was down
Elevator not function for too long
No breakfast Entrance hidden
Location, very clean, excellent coffee
We were there to drop our kid for college, elevators were not working, we couldn't carry anything upstairs so we had to leave stuff in the lobby and most of the things in the car. Had to come down in the morning to get clothes and shoes.
Great location in the heart of Harvard Square! Very helpful and accommodating staff. Hotel has a clean, urban, contemporary feeling. It was an ideal place to stay for dropping off a student at Harvard and for using the subway.
The elevator was under repair, but the staff was very accommodating with luggage. The repairs are estimated to be completed by early September.
Elevator was out of order-staying on the 2nd Floor it was horrible. Also 2nd Floor might not sound bad for lugging everything to room but it really was as there were four long flights of stairs not counting the stairs in the lobby to street. Something should be done to compensate for this.
Eleveter had problem while we stayed, but the hospitality of staffs could cover the defect enough. Rooms, not super new but clean. Super location.
WiFi could not connect at far room from lobby.
elevator in renovation
Location (near the Harvard T-station). Free wifi.
Overpriced, given no breakfast and a relatively basic room design.
Great deal for a summertime booking in Harvard Square! Staff was welcoming and friendly.
Elevator was being repaired but first floor room so didn't impact our stay -- the 4th floor guests might have a different review!
Proximity to Harvard Clean Places to eat nearby Courteous staff
Elevator was out and this was not indicated when we booked. We had to move our room from the third floor to the first floor, which worked out but it was an unfortunate situation.
Location to the center of Harvard's campus life and the surrounding area.
Poor recommendations by staff for dinner.
Great location in the heart of Harvard Square
We travelled with two teenage children. Room with two double beds was tiny. One bed was practically up against the wall so impossible to exit bed from one side. Bathroom had no room for toiletries. Parking was convenient but expensive. Elevator not working most of the day we were there and staircase was stifling.
Right in Harvard Square, close to everything, including a T stop a block away. A great base to explore Cambridge and the entire Boston area. Although not overly large, the room was clean, comfortable and very quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
I have no complaints.
Location was the best aspect of the hotel. Despite the mediocre quality of the building and rooms, the staff/service was great, going so far as to place a birthday note and candy in the room for my girlfriend. The large window allowed for good daylight, and a nice view.
I chose the hotel due to the recent "renovations" touted on the website. The renovations, however, were bare minimum, surface only, and poor quality. Once past the shiny, yet cheesy, lobby with friendly staff, it was all downhill. The elevator was tiny, old, and seemed to struggle getting to the fourth floor, becoming progressively slower. Once off the elevator, I felt I was back in the seventies, as the carpet, wall surfaces, and lighting, had clearly not been updated. The room itself was cramped, and the air conditioner was unable to bring the temperature any lower than 74 degrees, despite the tiny size of the room. All the furniture was very modern and very cheap. The bathroom wasn't terrible, but had similar low-end modern surface updates, and pieces of the previous door hardware were blatantly sticking out of the door, as newer hardware had been installed slightly adjacent to it. The vanity mirror had clearly not been upgraded, as pieces of Formica were peeling off the side, and it was spaced off the wall with layers of double sided tape.
Location,parking,staff, room design,cleanliness all perfect.
What's not to like?
the staff are great, Maher and others
Location, location, location. Great bang for your buck and the staff is great.
The wifi was horrible. There is a free "Harvard Guest" option that is a tiny bit better.
