Location and cleanliness
Poor elevator service; not much you can do about it, although it did appear that only one of the two elevators was in service at any given time. Long waits
Clean, with really friendly staff. I would definately here again.
Made to wait to 3pm for check in although I got the impression that the room was ready.
The whole operation is run very well and all the staff we encountered were polite, friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, comfortable and very quiet and kitchen area sensibly equipped. my hudband and I are seniors but we had 2 25 yr old granddaughters with us and they were as impressed as we were. Wi fi was fast and easy and 2 computers downstairs made printing boarding passes easy.. We would definitely go back and have told our friends and family that is the place to stay while in NY . .
no room service
A short walk to The Javits Center Free laundry facilities for guests Convenience to Times Square and other attractions Friendly very helpful staff Great Kitchen well stocked Comfortable bed Good shower
Easy reach of the subways. Also in walking distance of many attractions. Reception staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Rooms small but comfortable. Kitchen well equipped and great markets locally. Also lots of "eateries" of all description in the area.
Nothing. Loved the place.
We reserved 1 room for four people and received 2 rooms for 2 people each. I am very disappointed!
Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was walking distance to Javits Center and Times Square. Wifi reception in room and lobby was excellent.
Staff gave my luggage collection ticket to another visitor by mistake. Television reception was disrupted numerous times.
The staff were pleasant and helpful & the self contained rooms were a bonus for NYC. Only a short walk to the centre of 42nd St
The curtains could not be drawn meaning the room was filled with light. No real chance of a sleep in if u'd been out exploring TS the night before
Very centrally located, fully self contained, including free laundry facilities and free WIFI.
Building workers nearby starting very early!
We stayed there for our second honeymoon and 30th anniversary. The staff were helpful and always willing. The amenities are were quite good for a hotel of this type. Having your own little kitchenette is very handy and you feel as though you can stay longer because you don't have to eat out every night.
They were a little pricy for what was offered. Rooms are relatively small and quite basic as are the bathrooms. However, this is only in comparison to a number of other hotels we stay in whilst stateside. In dc for example our hotel was incredible but cost significantly less. But that's dc and this is ny!
Close to the action but not on a busy street.
The complete night no sleep because of washing machine noise , the room floor is wet . The bathroom is horrible water clogged so we didn't take bath and the wash basin also with same issue. Informed about this to the front office. Not so happy on my booking. Need to find any other alternate next time
Overall staff and faccility were great
The refigerator made alot of nosie.
Candlewood is in a good location to get around Manhattan. You can walk to some sites and it is close to the 42 St. Subway station.
Comfy bed, Clean, looked modern, very close to Javits Convention Centre, their selection of where to eat. I ate at the italian restaurant and it was good!
COFFEE WAS TERRIBLE. Very bad (maxwell house) coffee. Only one coffee per room. Old coffee maker
position is perfect
one of the receptionist is not helpful at all, when you ask for any thing she gives you the most comfortable answer for her, for example when you come early and ask for leave your luggage in store, she will say "leave them as they are, do not worry" after this you find out there is store room, when you ask for your luggage in storage room, she will not do any thing , just ask you to wait, and if you ask her for any arrangement to tours , she will direct you to the neighbor hotel, very poor attitude.
LOCATION, KITCHENETTE, FRIENDLY STAFF
THE STREET WHERE IS LOCATED THE HOTEL IS DARK AND DIRTY, SMALL ROOM BUT EXPECTED IN NYC
kitchenette made the 5 days more comfortable with fresh food to buy in transit building and all the necessary accesories provided for washing dishes. Laundry added to comfort. Walking to broadway shows at night so easy and safe. Internet for both peoples devices excellent. Bed comfortable and bathroom well fitted out.
One of two elevator being out of action for 24 hours caused huge delays for patrons and staff.
Bed bugs!!!!!!!!!! Allyson the receptionist
The hotel was in a good location-within walking distance to many places of interest. The staff were very helpful and the wi-fi was excellent. It was close to the Port Authority bus terminal-very handy if you are flying out from Newark Airport.
Kitchen facilities were basic but serviceable -could have added a frypan. Linen was only changed once, but could have been done so more often if you asked.
The counter staff were friendly and helpful. The location was convenient for Manhattan though very run down by Australian standards.
The lift problems during the entire time of our stay. We had x3 rooms as an extended family group and we for the most part had usage of only the 1 working lift and on our last morning the 1 lift was being manually operated...
Very helpful staff Easy walking distance to theatres & restaurants Good bed & pillows Very little street noise from the 12th floor uninterrupted sleep 24 access to mini convenience store at reception for snacks etc at very fair prices Good size room for the price able to get 2 large cases & 2 carry ons out of the way Very clean On site ATM
No daily servicing of room but not really a problem as they provided clean towels on request Breakfast not available but great options nearby No bar on the premises but again options within close proximity Not much to complain about here Candlewood is good value at NYC rates
