This Gloucester bed and breakfast is directly across from the harbor and features uniquely styled rooms, each with a private bathroom. Various shops and restaurants are within a 10-minute walk.
Score from 92 reviews Excellent
If you like being near the water and everything else, this place should be on your list. Nice indoor pool too.
Could use a freshening.
Private and quiet at this time of year!
The pool/hot tub are awesome. Love that the bar is located within the the pool/spa area--nothing better than being able to watch the game while relaxing in the pool. The staff are friendly and enthusiastic.
The internet is virtually non-existent.
The view Convience to Gloucester
The first floor rooms are very noisy, you hear EVER thing from the room above you! The housekeeping staff do not understand the do not disturb sign knock on my room door twice on two different occasions, when check out is 11am. The bathroom needs some updating, the shower head barely worked. The room was not very clean upon arrival, particularly the bathroom
Very friendly staff, great pool and hot tub. Comfy bed and room, loved the breakfast at the restraunt and the parties for Halloween.
Wifi could be a little weak
We have stayed there before and like the facility and the location.
We specifically chose that hotel because we like the pool and hot tub. It was closed when we arrived Friday night. On Saturday there was a child's birthday party using the pool but it was open for us too. When we got back after dinner they told us the pool was closed for treatment after all the kids used it. Sunday morning it was still closed. So, the main attraction of that hotel for us was the one thing we didn't get to use over our 3 day vacation but once.
Allowed us to check in early, but was out of season so probably not too busy.
Very basic rooms, pretty standard motel setup. Stayed here on trip to Salem for Halloween before flying back to UK. Received email saying there would be entertainment till 11pm, went on till 1am with volume so loud, impossible to sleep.
Friendly service including maid service. Excellent location. Excellent restaurant. Food and service were very good.
Pool and all around stmosphere
Needs elevator. Microwave in rooms and working refrigerators
Service was very friendly. Loved balcony overlooking marina, indoor pool with bar. My husband and I came to visit our daughter at college- perfect spot to stay. Will come again.
Relaxed and informal. Our party of 4 had to share a double bedded room.
Due to a problem with the booking reservation from Booking.com we did not get the rooms we had booked or received confirmations about. Be aware booking.com do not accept responsibility for problems.
The location was exactly what I expected, I love harbors. Restaurant was great for breakfast and dinner.
Room condition, needs renovating. Common balcony, no privacy, hotel staff did not appear to be happy to be there.
Good location. enjoyed restaurant adjacent very much. Over all it was a good choice for the money. Nice Room.
I know it is an old building, however we could hear every sound and footstep from the room above us.
Location was convenient. Large accessible parking lot.
Decor, including flooring, desperately in need of an update.
It was clean and the staff was friendly. We loved the convenience to downtown Gloucester and Stage Fort Park. Pretty views of the harbor.
The hotel is old and needs updating. It felt dingy. The balcony is not private- it's an outdoor walkway for everyone. Not worth the price.
All rooms, and restaurant had a great view of the marina. Very comfortable bedding. Nice clean bathroom. The restaurant made a big effort to offer an interesting menu and well prepared food at decent prices. Great clam chowder ! The breakfast menu offered a large and interesting variety; we loved it!
We retire late so the live band on Saturday night didn't bother us. They finished at 11 PM. Those with children though might want to request rooms that are farthest away from the deck if staying on a Sat night, and they should be fine.
room was clean. All rooms have direct access to a walkway/balcony overlooking the marina. the view was very nice. Fun to watch boats going in and out.
structure is older, and everything seemed just "ok". Wifi was spotty and slow. Bring your own soap, etc.
Stinky refrigerator, could not use even tho staff was informed of odor. Someone before our stay had spilled seafood all inside and it had not been cleaned.!! Chef spilled salad dressing all down my brand new 60.00$ jeans and shirt, we were out for my birthday dinner and what a surprise I got...never even an apology from chef, 5 family members witnessed.! Young male waiter and young female manager brought me a "tide pen" and raved about what it would do for my spilling on myself...".excuse me"..the chefs mess was put on me.! Never even offered to pay for our meal, unbelievable.!!!
Accessibility to Cape Ann Whale Watch
WAY TOO NOISY. ROOMS SEEMED TO HAVE CARDBORD WALLS. PEOPLE TALKING SOO LOUD IN THE HALLS, IT FELT AS IF THEY WERE IN YOUR ROOM!
marina location, close to town, easy to find and get to, clean, very comfy bed, friendly helpful staff
cramped dark room, small window, not enough shelf space in bathroom
View of the harbor. Bar right on the water.
Dated rooms. Balconies accessible from all other rooms so no privacy. Very loud family above us so woke in the middle of the night and again early in the morning when they started jumping around. No going back to sleep.
Staff was friendly and accommodating, especially our waiter on Thursday evening. Parking was close to the room. Room was good value for the price and location. Would return.
Our room was very close to the open bar and band playing at night. Thank goodness they stopped playing at 11. Friday evening was very noisy, especially the shouting and arguing among young people who were in the hallway and rooms. Walls, doors and ceilings have no soundproofing and could hear every little sound.
We have been staying @ the Marina for probably 30 years - the improvements over the past few years are excellent.
Still wish you had the sunset river cruise.
Wi-Fi connection so-so, larger balconies would have been a nice plus BUT can tell the bldg. has been like this for a while and price would be prohibitive. Would recommend....
First room was smelly. The room we got subsequently (201) had doors that did not shut properly. As a result, we had howling winds all night long, waking us up. Pool was turbid.
