cheap atmosphere kitchen location
too few bathrooms wi-fi not working 100%
location near metro station
co-ed bathroom and showers! Unclean and unsafe and weird to use. Felt like motel not hostel.
Ubication is good and is new.
One bathroom for 18 people, camaras around the house, the worst reception service ever they know modals. Expensive to be so bad...
The hostel is located very far from the central DC area. Nothing is within walking distance so you have to take the bus or the metro. The front desk/reception is in another building that's 7 minutes walk from where the rooms are. Check out office doesn't open until 9am. There's no pillow in the room. The bed sheet was nasty. The wifi reception is so poor that it doesn't even make a difference between having and not having a wifi in the room. Overall, it's more expensive than HI - Washigton and a much worse experience. I had to stay here for one night because HI was fully booked on that day.
There was one man trying to administer two buildings separated by several blocks. I had to wait probably an hour to check in, then walk to the other building with all my stuff--then the next morning, I was informed there was no one to let me in to sit in the lounge.
1. Close to Metro bus & rail. 2. Big table to work at in kitchen. 3. Good disability bath. 4. Interesting guests from everywhere. 5. Caring staff.
1. No cabinet in room made luggage all over the floor; dangerous in the dark. 2. Not enough towels. 3. Hard to organize in darkness of morning while others are still sleeping. 4. Low furniture in the lobby were difficult and uncomfortable. 5. Television in room did not work. 6. Wall hooks needed for hanging clothes.
Very close to the Metro train, like literally up the block. The place is air conditioned, smelled good and house keeping cleaned daily.
Couldn't think of anything I didn't like.. I will definitely be back again. My first hostel stay and it was great
Close to metro Bus to georgetown and walk to Chinatown
Many things, I wrote above
they didnt had like a contection with you and when i got there they didnt had an idea of anything
I went with my girlfriend. We got a free upgrade from a 14 to a 4 dorm room. We didn't have to ask for it. That was really nice!
The only downside was the space on the side of the bathroom door. I didn't like that.
I wait during more than an hour to do the check-in and check-out. The receptionist leaves when they want and there was nobody in the reception.
good location Friendly staff Very sociable Quality for money
Cleanliness was very questionable Rough nieighbourhood
I arrived at 6pm and the sign in was easy. I liked how my sheets were clean and that I had my own key to come and go as I needed to. At the end of my stay I received a free bottle of water (which I really appreciate after a long day of touring and sight seeing).
The air conditioner in the waiting section was broken. I had to share a bathroom with men and women. People would just barge into the room I slept in for no reason and peeked at us. There is a cafe around the corner that was way too loud in the early morning hours. The room was too cold( Basically where the cold would've been appreciated - there was heat and vice versa). The images you see on the site is not the same as the hostel it self. I almost assumed the place closed down when I stood in front of the hostel. There is no elevator (I had to carry my two bags up the stairs after a 9 hour bus ride.)
Timeout check in procedures for so long, about 2 hours from 10am
David, the gentleman on the front desk, was welcomed friendly and accommodating. He was the only redeeming feature of the hostel.
- location - rather rough area that doesn't come across in the ad - safety - I didn't feel safe whatsoever, particularly as there was no lock on my own room (!?!) so anyone could have wandered in. The lock on the front door was flimsy at best and was actually left open by guests at least once during my one night there, meaning anyone from the street could have got into our rooms!? The location wasn't ideal for a solo traveller, in my opinion, and the actual rooms were in a building separate to the Main building - which was a struggle to find as it was doesn't even have a sign outside - at the end of the block. If it wasn't for David upgrading my room for free I would have actually been 2 whole blocks away! The office was only open until 10am-1am which I found bizarre as almost every hostel is 24 hours and had David not given me his personal number in case of emergency I would have felt very unsafe - bathroom - the bathroom was absolutely filthy, the toilet unfleshed, doors falling off the cabinets, the shower also not pleasant. There was only one bathroom for the entire floor which was at least 20 people if not more. - kitchen - fridge dirty and full of old food and drinks. Wouldn't have used the facilities even if I needed to -wifi - didn't work for my whole first night but was just about ok for the morning - living room/communal room - non-existent. The sofa genuinely consisted of a plastic crate with an old pillow on top - bedroom - had a lovely girl in my room and Without her my experience would have been almost unbearable..the mattress was so thin it was basically made of sheets of cardboard.. There was nowhere to store bags (and of course no lock on bedroom door apart from inside so could only lock while in bed at night), no curtain on window, the other beds had been slept in but not cleaned (!
bathrooms, beds, stairs, kitchen. just disgusting.
Everything was OK Staff was friendly
The room was small for two bunk beds The room was "stuffy" The bathroom was clean but showing wear and tear.
Staffs are helpful and so nice. good fatilities and wifi :DAnd the location is so damn good. near metro station, 7-11, main street, and the library?
Actually this hostel is the seperate three building. Two of them are located together in a very good location but the other one (cheap one) is pretty far.
I left early and did not get a refund
Excellent location, reasonably priced. Common space to interact with other travelers. Kitchen area with washer and drier.
No large lockers---size is about 1 ft x 1 ft x 1.5 ft deep. Need hooks in bathroom to hang up close when showering. Some repairs needed.
Location only, it is walking distance (but 20 mins anyway) to National Mall, Capitol, White House and around.
Although it is cheap but service is not good. They cannot accept early morning check out, I couldnt get my 5usd for key deposit back due to Ali (general manager) said that "you've gotta check out at 11am, if u wanna early, you've gotta take ur money back at 11pm" - i have informed them that i will be checking out early morning but they didnt inform that i have to take back the money at 11pm the day before. Second thing, 14 bunk bed only provide 1 bath room, you've gotta deal with this. Third thing, be careful for your snacks/fruit which you store in refridge, I lost 6 apples in the second day. Last but not least, dont expect too much with this hostel, it's cheap but nor value for money.
Being close downtown Washington DC, close to the Metro and Museums etc. The price was good.
Rather loud owner. Upstairs bathroom not clean, moldy spots. Matresses not very comfortable.
Location is good.
Hot water is not always available for bath.
If you want to sleep in the street, it's probably the best hostel. Don't go there.
