Facilities are good and staff were helpful and friendly.
It does take a bit walk from the Union Station and for the money you are paying, it's a bit high of the price.
We were friendly walking distance to the Smithsonian museums. Even closer: Metro stops and a 24-hour Safeway. I don't think you will find a hostel closer to the attractions of DC.
Mattress was basically a large bowl and I would have flopped it on the floor for more firmness if there had been space.
Location is great. There wasn't any problems with WiFi connection.
To take a shower I had to wait 10 minutes for hot water, it was really cold in the beginning.
the room smells bad and the staff didnt provide any wifi information. if you want to check in after 10pm, you have to pay extra dollars. they sent you check in code through email which is extremely inconvient if you donnt have wifi around. bad exprience totally
The location is OK, 10min walk to everything. The carpets did not smell bad. The beds were soft, but worked for me since I am light weight. Locks were good sized, just remember to bring your own lock. Roof parties did not disturb me, as I was on the first floor. Distribution of space is good. T-mobile signal is good!
I found cockroaches in the kitchen/living room area 3 days in a row. Bathrooms seemed to be cleaned up with less frequency than desired. The first floor toilet smelled really bad all times. The others were fine. The complementary shampoo dispenser they had on the bathrooms did not work and were super dirty with old solidified shampoo around. Shower curtains did not smell fresh and the water pressure was low. I did not use the courtesy slippers, and just walked barefoot; the floor was sticky, I don't know what types of weird products they were using. Electric hand dryer was so loud! I was by the bathroom and I woke up a few times when someone used it late at night. Wi-fi was really bad. I could not use it in room 7, and it was super slow in other places. Staff was poorly trained. I not even got a hello when I walked in, just take your shoes off and give me your passport and credit card! Also, they put me in the wrong bed the first night, and had to ask me to switch several nights later. Outside work, they seemed fun.
too far from subway station, bathrooms are too often out of control
Location is near to center.
Locker is rather small. Bathroom is not goody. Room 0: air condition is out of service
Nice kitchen ..
1. going up the staircase with heavy luggage... 2. The taxi driver was not familiar with the location...
Not very familiar with Hostels so this was a fun surprise. Fabulous location, comfortable and uber casual facility with lots of entertainment options including a rooftop patio with a gas grill and darts. Friendly staff eager to assist and helpful. Plenty of fridge space and a full kitchen to cook in. For the price - in walking distance to the White House - can't beat it.
They had some plumbing problems which were a bit strange - no flushing paper.
Well located and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The bathroom was not clean enough and poor wifi.
I liked location and cleanness of the hostel.
I understand the hostel supposed to be cheap place for mostly young people, but it's not big investment to add couple of cheap stools in the room and mirrow in the restroom. Those who have bed on the first level can seat on the bed, but my bed was on the second level and you feel like an idiot. Without these small amenities you don't feel that anybody cares about you and $50 was too much just for bed and roof. Plus I hate to say that the toilet on our floor was broken. But this big problem I understand better because everything can happen.
It was clean and nice hostel. Close to Chinatown and downtown.
The bed was really uncomfortable. It was difficult for me to get sleep with that bed.
no super market near the hostal, the staff is not familiar with the area, not friendly nor flexiable. the bathroom is disgusting with no stable hot water supply, in the first to days of my stay there were no hot water, so i had to take the bath with cold water.
Location was good
Stupid rules about taking shoes off inside to keep the place clean, considering that the place is already old and scruffy. The member of staff who checked us in was impersonal and unfriendly. The wifi was very poor in the room.
Location and the design.
Beds are sooo unconfortable and old. The metal springs were pointing my back I could not sleep even one night. It was like a torture bed.
The location is perfect.
Everything was ok
The help or employee was polite informative and helpful
Needed air conditioning. It was warm and humid
Pretty close to the Union station and the Capitol, responsive staff
Bed was awful. Mattress and bedding (especially pillowcase) should have been thrown away long time ago. Hair dryers were scary too. When I turned on the one on the second floor it sounded like the smoke detector went off. It was noisy at night because the floor squeaked.
Is an excellent option to stay in Washington, negar to the national mall and really nice the apartment.
I do not have to say anything negative.
The rooftop patio was pretty sweet. Great place to hangout at night and meet other guests. Considering how small the hostel is, there is a lot of recreational space with multiple big screen TVs and acces to Netflix. Excellent. The free acces to the kitchen is also very nice.
the wi-fi was at times a bit unstable.
Place is clean, and it has a great location. Walmart really nearby for any groceries, plus it's close to all the sites tourists want to see. Furthermore, there are metro stations nearby.
Wifi was pretty poor.
Location (at least in one direction)
Bunk beds weren't squeeky. Rooms not too packed, showers generally clean.
Reception very poor - Matt at reception greets everyone badly (not a people person) and is inefficient. Whilst the location is good there was some trouble in the adjoining streets on the nights I stayed. Little atmosphere in the Hostel perhaps - no communal events. Warning - don't leave anything on your beds, the cleaners remove it and throw it away.
very kind staff!
Nice roommates from different countries! Clean bed, clean bathroom! Very good location - near to Chinatown (20 min to all museums by legs)
