One of the best hostels I've been to. Friendly staff, pretty good wifi and quite comfortable dormitories. Great location and nice roommates.
Someone stole my food from the common kitchen. No mirror in the nearest bathroom.
nice stuff, nice place , close to town ...
Stanley didn't make me breakfast, and there was no free vodka ...
we loved the apartment and building, it's proximity to tourist monuments and things to do. The wise guys pizza joint on the bottom floor is a must visit and eat. If you want to save, Walmart is two blocks away and doesn't charge for underground parking.
website, it was wrong, no 1100 checkin as stated and could not get in room till 1600. Had groceries and nothing scheduled to do until after checkin. If getting apartment, it is located elsewhere and the staff doesn't care. Never received a receipt online or in person, not sure of additional charges yet. Parking is very expensive and closes early, had to park on street twice.
Friendly staff, reasonable price, great location near the National Mall.
WiFi is very unstable
Spacious, well furnished apartment; Comfortable bed; Great location - close to all the sites and only a few blocks to Metro; Secure building; Great view from the roof top patio; I would definitely stay here again!
No kitchen garbage can - just a loose bag in the cupboard; very few utensils/pots and pans. Different room for first night due to a mix-up, but they were very nice about it and made the switch easier by moving my belongings while I was at my conference the next day.
Staff, Friendliness, helpfulness, kitchen facilities, comfy bed.
Does not have someone to open the door before 10:00 a.m.
the receptionist Sara is very nice and helpful.
when checking in we were asked for $150 for not damaging facilities . I said , 1. it is not point out in booking .com reservation;2. before paying $150 I have to check the facilities are in good condition or not. at last I did not pay $150, but in the room. ceiling light can not be lit on. the oven does not work. I reported to the manager, until we left , no one to repair them. I called the manager she never pick up her phone.
Nothing. Just have to keep in the back of your mind that this is not home or display valuables.
Very Clean, Kindly staff
Location is good; staff is helpful.
24hrs hot water should be expected.
Loved the rooftop, good facilities (great when the pancake mix was available), an option of places to chill, nice atmosphere to get to know other travellers.
The forgotten tax. Made it just that little bit more expensive than I had prepared for.
Nice and budget hostel to sleep for one night. Located next to the train station Union Station, not far from the city center
Not very comfortable shower rooms
The kitchen was so dirty, one of the cabinets smell like pee. Some of the showers had intermitent hot water.
Location is very good. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Fair price. It's a cool and big house, with a nice common area. Lot's of bathrooms, so you don't have to wait to get one. My room had a lot of space for luggage. I stayed for one week in a dorm and I had a good time there. I would definately consider staying at this hostel again.
It's clean (rooms where clean), but it could be a little bit more (specially the common areas).
Nice staff, good location
mattress is too soft, and bed board is not flat
Free pancake mix! Interesting and friendly guests. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. The picture of a hanging bridge in the dining/TV room. I look forward to returning.
WiFi was intermittent. A long walk to the bathroom when the nearest one was occupied.
Facilities are good and staff were helpful and friendly.
It does take a bit walk from the Union Station and for the money you are paying, it's a bit high of the price.
We were friendly walking distance to the Smithsonian museums. Even closer: Metro stops and a 24-hour Safeway. I don't think you will find a hostel closer to the attractions of DC.
Mattress was basically a large bowl and I would have flopped it on the floor for more firmness if there had been space.
Actually beyond my expect ion. Clean is the first impression. And nice staff and roommates.
Location is great. There wasn't any problems with WiFi connection.
To take a shower I had to wait 10 minutes for hot water, it was really cold in the beginning.
the room smells bad and the staff didnt provide any wifi information. if you want to check in after 10pm, you have to pay extra dollars. they sent you check in code through email which is extremely inconvient if you donnt have wifi around. bad exprience totally
The location is OK, 10min walk to everything. The carpets did not smell bad. The beds were soft, but worked for me since I am light weight. Locks were good sized, just remember to bring your own lock. Roof parties did not disturb me, as I was on the first floor. Distribution of space is good. T-mobile signal is good!
I found cockroaches in the kitchen/living room area 3 days in a row. Bathrooms seemed to be cleaned up with less frequency than desired. The first floor toilet smelled really bad all times. The others were fine. The complementary shampoo dispenser they had on the bathrooms did not work and were super dirty with old solidified shampoo around. Shower curtains did not smell fresh and the water pressure was low. I did not use the courtesy slippers, and just walked barefoot; the floor was sticky, I don't know what types of weird products they were using. Electric hand dryer was so loud! I was by the bathroom and I woke up a few times when someone used it late at night. Wi-fi was really bad. I could not use it in room 7, and it was super slow in other places. Staff was poorly trained. I not even got a hello when I walked in, just take your shoes off and give me your passport and credit card! Also, they put me in the wrong bed the first night, and had to ask me to switch several nights later. Outside work, they seemed fun.
too far from subway station, bathrooms are too often out of control
