Great location, great price
The motel is old and needs to refurb some of the furniture and fixtures.
large room very comfortable
wifi connectivity was not good
The place was rundown and not equipped for a smoker (no ashtray) and it was a smoking room. The place was rundown, a big gap at the bottom of the door that cold blows through. Huge burn holes in the rug. I have stayed here in the past and it wasn't just this room, the other room was just as bad so will I give it a third try? NO!!!
Dirty, no heat, the bed linens were nasty, in need of many repairs, pic shows mini stove and sink not there...I could go on but I don't want to waste Amy Moore of my time on this awful experience
It was nice and quiet area to be stress free
Wasn't a fan of the 2pm check in wish it was earlier also that the ice machine was closer to the rooms in the back
PROXIMITY TO OCEAN BEACH
DOOR CONDITION, MUSTINESS
holes in wall no onsite staff after 10pm
Your facility was near the areas we enjoyed
Rooms need to be up-graded to the year of 2000's
There were blood stains on the coverlet and hair on the sheets when we got there. We had to call the emergency office number at 1am because they didn't supply toilet paper in the room!
The rooms had been recently painted and new tile in bathroom. The shower water pressure was extremely strong. It was quiet. Staff really tired to address our issues. Large rooms with cathetral ceilings.
The shower water pressure was extremely strong! Felt like I was sand-blasted clean. Older hotel but they are trying really hard at updating on a budget. Window in bathroom would not close. Light over sink did not work.
The woman at the front desk was very helpful.
Not suitable for people with a walker , or no speech. The staff was not accessible. There was a guest at the front when I got there, and he was more helpful than the staff! One review ive since read pegged it on the head, when they said "ewww!" Would not stay again! Now im at an extended stay in peabody, and it's MUCH more comfortable and better service!!
It was so run down that we didn't even stay there. Furthermore they billed my credit card, which I'm fighting. when you open the door and a roach runs under the bed, what else can be said!
The staff were warm and helpful. The showers were hot with great water pressure and the rooms were very clean. The grounds are peaceful with large mature trees.
The carpet could use a cleaning.
lOCATION PRICE AREA GROUNDS SERVICE every other place was booked when we found the Lodge. We found it roomy, close to market, dunkin donuts and to Rockport where we were heading.Would defintiely stay again,,kind of old but everything you need without luxury.Staf was very attentive and nice..Couldn't beat the price.Good heat and shower was hot and powereful.Would like tostay in summer to use pool and ground facilities...
NEED BETTER PILLOWS SINK STOPPERS NO COFFEE POT NO SMALL FRIDGE
The staff were very friendly. Central to many things
The sheets had stains on them. Our stay was for two days . Disappointed staff didn't come in for house cleaning as we had buckets that were full.
The location and size of room
Quite a few spiders in the room. Neither plug in the sink or bathtub worked. No coffee maker. Bed and pillows very poor. Carpet old and dirty.
King bed, large room with high ceilings, good location. Clean and HUGE.
TV was snowy and hard to see, no ESPN or FS1 -- unacceptable. A little musty, but clean. Very dim, not enough plugs near bed.
I was a warm place to sleep. 5 minute drive from where I had to be.
TV did not work properly. Since I was checking in after the staff left, I was not given the code for the WiFi. I could have used it for some work
The toilet was leaking onto the store floor during our over night stay. There was not a hair dryer in the room. The office didn't open very early in the morning. Wasn't able to locate a vending machine.
Rooms were clean and spacious
The pillows were awful! Need either more pillows or better ones.
The location was great. My wife and I visited the Gloucester area with four other people and had pretty much resigned ourselves to staying close to thirty miles away and driving into the area. I came across the Captain's Lodge and was excited that there might be a place to stay right in Gloucester at a very reasonable price. After reading quite a few reviews, I have to admit I was a little uneasy, from a few real negative ones. I didn't want to expose my wife, her mom and our son and daughter in law to a bad situation. The positive reviews gave me some reassurance that it would work for us. Upon arrival, I found that the person in the office was very courteous and helpful. The grounds themselves could use a little facelift but the rooms were fine. Plenty of room, we slept well and no sign of uncleanliness. Not fancy, but great for a night's stay and close to everything.
There was nothing that we actually disliked. Here's the thing- if you are looking for the finest in lodging, you'll be disappointed. If you need a decent place to stay, it's fine.. The Cape Ann area is a beautiful place to visit and I'm really glad I found this place and was able to stay right in the area.
Quiet, in a good location. The staff was helpful and I would recommend motel for someone who wasn't fussy about extra's that usually are available when staying in a motel. Plenty of hot water for showers we stayed eight nights.
Had to pay extra for fridge, microwave, no coffee maker.
The shower water pressure was awesome.
The room was very smelly. You had to hold the toilet handle down till it flushed all the way. Electric plug near the bathroom sink didn't work. The shower curtain was a foot too long and dragged in the tub.
beds were too hard
