Carefree Inn San Antonio    

I liked the location...it was next to Lackland AFB

I didn't like that it looked "cheap" and dirty.

Close to the base.

Door could b pushed open didn't feel safe, bad was like a rock , when we arrived there was soap and wrapper left in shower , when the shower was ran there was a lack of hot water and no toilet seat cover , very un sanitary

The convenience to Lackland AFB. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Close to shopping and food.

Inexpensive, location (right outside the gates of lab), continental breakfast. There are a lot of scary reviews of this hotel and I was worried but i'm 33..was going to visit my bf for his airforce graduation and I was pleasantly surprised. Sheets and towels looked and smelled clean and you can't beat the location if your goal is the airforce base. Room was just fine..some water damage on the ceiling tiles and the shower scalding you from time to time was the only thing negative I can think to stay. People rating this hotel 1 star and saying to 'Stay Away' are crazy and expecting and Holiday Inn or something. This hotel is just fine and cheap!

Keep the shower head pointed down so you can step to the back...it will scald you 3+ times per shower!

I just like the fact that it wAs right nexttothe military gate. This hotel needs a lot of work

It was close to physician's office & to my niece's home who was celebrating her birthday; perfect location, convenient to walk my dog who was allowed to stay & important for me to take. Clean & comfortable.

The location to be near the air force base was the best without being on the base. It seems to be an older hotel so it was keep as clean as could be.

It rain, inside the door the water pour in I called front desk and their reply was "It's only going to rain for two hours and it should stop." This was awful for we had to be somewhere during this time so we had rain to drip on us before we were out our door.

It met my requirements for a quick trip; I would use this hotel again

Their rates were cheap.

The pictures that they have for their advertising, was not what it really is, was not what I expected. They have bugs in the place, I will never stay there again.

The night desk clerk was very friendly and helpful.

The roaches! The tile floors were visibly dirty and not cleaned for the four days I was there.

We had to ask for towels everyday, we ran out of toilet paper, the floor infront of the door was rotten, you had to step over the threshold. Lets not forget the roaches.... Tub and sink had hair in it from the previous people. Booking.com should investigate the hotels they advertise for better. And no we did not use the do not disturb sign. We were there for my son's Basic Training graduation at lafb.

This motels biggest plus is it's proximity to Lackland Air Force Base. If you don't care that it's old and in need of a major(professional) rehab and are on a budget, this is the right place.

Old, needs a major rehab. Staff could have been a little better at replacing things that get used every day(I had to ask for towels the second day and coffee for the in-room coffee maker), but overall it's a good value for the money. If your spouse or child is graduating from bmt at Lackland afb, this place gets the job done.

It was conveniently located next to Lackland Air Force Base, the least expensive and clean.

It needs some remodeling inside and out. The hot water was messed up and the shower would turn cold within seconds.

It was great accommodations for the money and it was right at the gate to the AFB where we watched our soon .graduate.

Need more wall plugins. Other than that it was great.

This motel is only 100 ft from the Valley Hi gate at Lackland afb. That is amazing! It only takes 15 seconds to get onto base. The staff was very friendly and the continental breakfast was way more than I expected and they kept it well stocked. I would highly recommend Carefree Inn for any family of airmen graduating from Lackland afb bmt, who are on a budget and want convenience. You won' find a better deal.

This is not a high class motel with lots of bells and whistles it is a basic, extremely affordable, convenient place to stay. The motel may seem a little low class but it gets the job done and the beds are clean, no bugs and the staff is friendly. You won't find a better deal.

This motel is close to Lackland A.F.B. Parking was close to the room. A.C./heat unit was adequate. Maid service was prompt. Continental breakfast was a nice touch. The price was reasonable.

Mint green walls and shag carpet with zero nap. Door stuck due to carpet coming up. With no help from me the water temperature in the shower would switch from "freeze yer a-- off", to, "S----, g--d--- , that burns" with no warning, not fun. While I was only able to keep one, the selection of roaches was more than adequate. Diablo, the one I kept, is finishing off the neighbors cat. I think he'll need a larger cage.

The location. I was attending graduation at Lackland Air Force Base. It is right outside the gate and within walking distance to a few places to eat. I didn't have a car so it was convenient to walk on base. It was a good deal for the time I spent there sleeping.

Where to begin? This room was painted bright lime green. There was hair in the sheets and towels. The toilet has not been cleaned. The sheets had small holes in them, and mascara stains. The headboards were dusty. There were foil candy wrappers on the floor between the headboards and table. There was toilet paper on the carpet.I kept searching for peep holes in the walls and ceiling. We were reminded of an Alfred Hitchcock movie, and have re-named this place, " The Bates Motel." Due to our late arrival into San Antonio, we opted to spend one night there. We supposedly will have a refund on the debit card for the other nights. We heard the night clerk tell the day clerk, " I had to give several cash refunds last night" We didn't even want to look at the continental breakfast.... I recommend you bulldoze the place down and rebuild, and hire housekeepers who do their job.

We chose the Care Free Inn because of it's location. My son was graduating from Lackland AFB, it is located rt outside the base. Rodney the night clerk was exceptionally attentive to our need she went above and beyond making us feel at home.

The housekeeping needs alot of work. There is no attention to detail in the rooms. Updating is definately needed.

Had bugs in my room in my beds and was absolutely disquested. Went to my room had no hot water.

It is a tired, used motel

The only thing that I liked about Carefree Inn was that it was right outside of the gates of Airforce Base. Which was one of the reasons we chose to stay there. They did offer breakfast.

What is did not like about Carefree Inn is that all of the furniture in the rooms need an upgrade. The worst thing for me was the mattress on the beds which look like they had been left out in the rain. There was big brown spots on one side, the sheets did not fit the bed. There were bugs in the bathroom where my brother and his wife stayed for 5 days. I was only there for one night. The light fixture did not work, lamp shades need to be replace. Only if you are very very low on money would I suggest you stay there.

Proximity to my destination was the best thing about Carefree.

I inspected the bed and found Q-tips and tissue paper in the bed. The bed was made with these items in it. The hot water would vanish during a shower.
