The wine nights were nice, and the restaurant downstairs is wonderful! The rooms are pretty high tech as well.
The wifi didn't work at all the entire stay. Rooms are small, and bad sound insulation- you hear ambulances and car alarms all night long. But a good sound machine should drown them out.
Friendly staff with a nice attitude! We got a late check out and there was no extra charge. Nice touch with Snazz playing in the lobby in the early evening. Parking was availible over night for free on streets just outside the hotel or nearby. Room was nicely decorated.
The room was a bit worn around the edges. I prefer a "hard" floor, this room had a carpet. There was a little funky smell in the room when you entered, but it was not a problem once you were in the room. Cleaning was Good! Overall ok.
Very new and clean bathroom, helpful and very friendly stuff, big comfortable bed and room with a walk-in closet to fit all possible messy luggage, good coffee machine in the room. Funny combination of Indian and Arabic themes ;-)
Area! Although on walking distance to the best parts of the city and the Moscone conference center, walking alone to the hotel at 11 pm is a mistake not to be repeated and the situation does not improve much during the day. Room ventilation was not the best. Room fares seem too high, although when I was booking this seemed to be the best value for the money, so might not get better for the hotels around.
Lovely decorated hotel with comfortable rooms, new Bathrooms... I liked the Wine Hour!
The Walls are not very soundproof. Depending on the behavior of the other guests it can be a bit disturbing. It was not a big problem for me.
Staff was so nice. Loved the happy hour!!.
The restaurant at breakfast was overpriced and the waitress could not handle the people. I did not get what I ordered and the food was average at best.
The lobby was inviting. Staff was friendly. View from our window was nice.
Knowing it is a old building, something i saw right away was the wall space between each room door. We had a room with double doors, meaning one for the hallway one for another room. However we were not using thr other door. We were just put there. The first night spent there we woke up to a man in the next room singing and the housekeeper talking loudly at about 5-6am. It sounded like they were in our room. The next two nights it was young people (19-21) that would run up the halls talking and screaming with joy and then another one crying because she was intoxicated. We got NO sleep!!
Small But Nice Room, Good Location to Union Square, very friendly staff
Thin Walls, very expensive parking
Room is too small
Hotel staff's kindness, somewhat exotic atmosphere, happy wind hour's joyful moods, coexistence of old and new, good coffee machine in each room. Breakfast (which was not included) in the restaurant at the lobby was good and cheap. They have water purifying machine at lobby and 5th floor, and it was really convenient.
My window had a blind but missed curtains, so from my colleague's room window I could see my room. During my stay I couldn't open the window... Please put the curtains also.
The welcome! Theo and his music The free wine half hour The Saha restaurant The funky decor
liked the eclectic appointed lobby with its charming decor. the staff were friendly, fun and knowledgable. good size and bright and modern room with a walk-in closet - wow! the bed was very comfortable. walking distance to union square and public transport options.
wi-fi would only allow one device at a time. also as you have so many guests from all over the world visiting, it might be an idea to provide tea (and not just coffee) making facilities in the room.
Generally everything was good.
Nice service from front desk. Happy hr was fun.
Walls were thin. Noisy.
The hotel is located within easy walking distance of the city centre and the pier area. We were able to climb the hills within the city as we were physically fit. Make sure you have comfortable walking shoes while walking the city. We were also close to the cable cars.
It would have been better to have had double glazed windows to lessen the noises of the sirens of emergency vehicles during the night. The passage door in our room was very thin and we could easily hear the guests next door speaking.
Great location great views from the room and friendly efficient staff. The lobby lounge is welcoming and the daily wine tasting is a nice bonus.
The free wifi was a little cumbersome to access, we had to sign in every day new and it only allowed one device at a time
The hotel has fascinating decorations and furnishings that provides a more comfortable feel than standard chain hotels. The front desk was very friendly and the facilities very clean. The restaurant in the hotel was a definite plus.
Just couldn't get comfortable paying $1,000 for three nights - too few amenities. There is no a/c and we couldn't raise the windows and neither could the staff who came by twice.
The staff were very personable and helpful. Bag storage service was provided free of cost.
It is 5 blocks away from Union Square and tram stops. Wifi connectivity was dismal. Was told the reason behind the poor connectivity was because the hotel was running at "full' capacity.
Very comfortable and relaxing boutique hotel.
Would be nice to have a fridge in the room.
Great staff, friendly and chatty and very helpful.
Wifi a little slow.
Room comfort and cleanliness
Air circulation was stuffy. Walls are thin, can hear activity in other rooms.
The staff was friendly
PRICE! mattress and cleanliness of hotel
It is a charming Hotel built in 1927. It is clean, colorful and very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms aren't large but they are comfortable, our room had a large walk in closet which always appeals to my wife.
We found the area very limited for good restaurants in easy walking distance. The Hotel is near a Hospital and a Fire Station so if you open your window at night there is a constant concert of Sirens.
The hotel was everything it promised. Close to downtown, interesting character, great staff. We enjoyed our stay.
The neighbourhood felt a little sketchy driving in but that was our lack of familiarity. It was not an issue once we were settled in.
Staff amazingly helpful and understanding when we arrived early after an awful journey. We were booked in straight away and they arranged a room for an extra night with no quibbles.
A little noise at night from adjacent rooms and corridors.
