Very comfortable and relaxing boutique hotel.
Would be nice to have a fridge in the room.
Great staff, friendly and chatty and very helpful.
Wifi a little slow.
Room comfort and cleanliness
Air circulation was stuffy. Walls are thin, can hear activity in other rooms.
The staff was friendly
PRICE! mattress and cleanliness of hotel
It is a charming Hotel built in 1927. It is clean, colorful and very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms aren't large but they are comfortable, our room had a large walk in closet which always appeals to my wife.
We found the area very limited for good restaurants in easy walking distance. The Hotel is near a Hospital and a Fire Station so if you open your window at night there is a constant concert of Sirens.
The hotel was everything it promised. Close to downtown, interesting character, great staff. We enjoyed our stay.
The neighbourhood felt a little sketchy driving in but that was our lack of familiarity. It was not an issue once we were settled in.
Staff amazingly helpful and understanding when we arrived early after an awful journey. We were booked in straight away and they arranged a room for an extra night with no quibbles.
A little noise at night from adjacent rooms and corridors.
Helpful and professional staff. Seemed secure. Good room. You can have a fridge on request.
A bit too far from the action in the main area of San Francisco. I like to walk everywhere. A locked door to an adjacent room seemed to allow the voice of a loud neighbour to easily penetrate to our room.
A well run place with truly delightful staff. The 'wine tasting' (a convivial half hour of free-flowing produce from Californian vineyards) is something to look forward to. Staff share their musical talent and you get to carouse with other guests. We found this sanctuary after a close encounter with a place unspeakably awful. So we were especially grateful to find a place so comfortable, welcoming, and original.
The staffs are friendly and the hotel rooms are clean.
Located quite far away from the tourist attraction areas.
Great location, great food in the hotel, the design of the hotel was very global and fit my tastes exactly, everyone was very friendly on the hotel staff, and the wi-fi was fast and easy to use.
Only issue I experienced were the thin walls that allowed my neighbors to hear my conversation on the phone at 3am and constantly complain about the noise. I was never bothered myself with any noise through the walls but apparently others were.
Great staff; nice upgrade to old hotel.
The bed was ultra comfortable The coffe maker in room was a nice addition. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The wifi internet was very slow. And a kettle in the room would have been nice too make tea
Staff were excellent Rooms were nice enough for the price
Location not the best but close enough to get around, may not walk around by myself too late at night though Walls but be quite thin as could hear a lot of noise in corridor etc
Staff more than excellent for disposal and courtesy. Wifi acceptable, sometime the connection failed, but overall I worked on 3 devices simoultaneously and when I had a problem, they solved quickly
Some noise from next rooms and from outside
location is good very friendly and helpful staff nice old SF building, nice decorated. free wine reception each evening
no air con in the rooms expensive rates on some nights rooms beside the elevator quite noisy
Staff were outstanding and very helpful.
I would like a better parking option.
Theo, the clerk who checked us into the hotel.
No interior insulation or sound deadening materials. I heard every Sat. night drunk who returned to the hotel between midnight and 2:30 am. I was able to sleep from 11:00 pm until midnight and then again from 3:00 am until my wake up call at 7:15.
The staff was great and the hotel was clean.
The walls are thin so you can hear everything going on next door, upstairs and outside. The location wasn't ideal. You were a 12 min walk to the square and a 25-30 min walk to the wharf, the area is a bit sketchy. I would opt for someplace closer to the square.
thin walls, no refrig or AC , neighborhood Ok ,but can be iffy at night. happy wine in afternoon but music during was way too loud could not hear what people were saying.
We stayed here on our last night of our holidays before flying home to the UK, what a JOY, wished we could have stayed longer, staff were, friendly, helpful and very well turned out! I couldn't believe they remembered our names! Very helpful on check out, storing our bags etc. Will recommend this hotel and hope to come back to stay one day!
Lovely staff on check in, made us fee very welcome. Hotel facilities also very good, comfortable room and coffee maker very handy. Overall,a very good stay.
The location was OK but a good 10-15 minutes walk to Union Square. Also when we went to settle the bill our pre paid currency card was not accepted so we had to use our UK credit card which is OK but meant another fee on my credit card.
Staff very pleasant and helpful
Good location close to shops and bars and only a short walk to Union Square. Free wine tasting every night was a bonus!
No air conditioning In the rooms meant we had to leave the windows open during the night for some air, but this let a lot of noise In and made sleep quality poorer. There was also no fridge In the room but we found out after a couple of days that you can request one and they will bring It to your room
The rooms were nicely decorated and the finishings linens were modern. Nice happy hour in the lobby
Air conditioning controls, if there were any were not to be found and adjusted. Soundproofing in the doors would help. I didn't hear people next door but I did when they walked the halls.
