friendly front desk staff, free evening happy hours, centrally located, super clean and beautifully designed rooms. excellent value given rates are much lower than comparable hotels.
An excellent, stylish hotel that makes a pleasant change from the normal bland corporate places. Staff were all extremely friendly, polite and most importantly helpful. Restaurant is fantastic for dinner and breakfast.
WiFi speeds are fairly poor (1-3 Mbps). No bar in the hotel - free wine is offered in the evenings from 5.30-6.00pm but I never got back in time to try it.
From the moment we pulled up we were happy with the location and ambiance of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They assisted us in finding our way around, and told us about their free wine tasting, and music later on. They got us a cab to the symphony and helped us park. Wonderful service, adorable place to stay. Recommended for all travelers!
The room was a great size and nicely designed, with good natural light and everything worked well. The hotel lobby is also a friendly place to start / finish the day, with wine in the evening.
Rough area with many homeless around. expensive for what you get. Furniture was worn. Also odd things like the TV not being able to turn on.
This hotel has a quaint and eclectic independent feel, with lots of personality. It may not come with all of the amenities of a 4 or 5 start corporate hotel, but for the price, it it was very clean and comfortable - modest yet still stylish. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. While some may not like the location on Sutter street which is right at the borders of Nob Hill and the Tenderloin, I found it to be very convenient and safe.
It's very convenient and easy to walk around in San Francisco and get from one neighborhood to another - however, there aren't that many particularly great shops/restaurants right on Sutter immediately outside of the hotel. Many not too far away though!
The staff were absolutely amazing. The hotel itself is so cool, from the sign outside to all of the amenities supplied in the bathrooms. We did not eat there, but the restaurant smelled amazing, waking up to the scent of fresh breakfast was a great treat.
The location is not the best, but it isn't bad. Check out is noon, but it seemed the keys stopped working around 11. The free wi-fi isnt great, paid ($9.99) wi-fi is pretty good.
We were stuck in San Francisco because of weather back East. The front desk staff was kind and accommodating, even noting in our file that we may have to check out early due to the weather situation (which, in fact, we did and had no problem with early checkout fees). Room was clean and cute. Everyone who worked here was kind and friendly. They even have pre-printed runners' maps!
clean, big closet
great value for money, friendly staff, very comfy rooms (except no fridge). Really enjoyed my stay. As a solo female traveller felt extremely safe and well looked after
no fridge in room or room service available
Far away from Bart stations
Great central location convenient to transit, comfortable bed, wonderful staff and service, very clean, fabulous on-site restaurant.
Tiny, uncomfortable bathroom, noisy neighborhood.
Comfort of bed . Closeness to Union Square
No Laundry facilities. Wifi access irratic
Friendly staff, evening music and happy hour
walls are very thin, had to call front desk to ask them to call person in the room next door to turn down his music
Restaurant, staff, cleanliness, comfort and location.
Thin walls...could hear neighbors.
This hotel is great value for money and the staff are great efficient and friendly. Free wine everyday at 5.30pm was a nice touch for hotel residents.
Couldn't fault it in anyway.
The room we booked wasn't available but although we had to take a twin room, the hotel provided a free breakfast to make up for it. Beds are really comfortable, location is excellent for Union Sq and the Piers (great 30 min walk through the streets) and the complimentary bottle of wine was the perfect start to our night out
Great location, funky decor
We loved the nightly live music - wine hour. The location was very convenient.
There were many sirens at night... We assume their must be a hospital nearby.
The water filtration system, comfortable bed
Walls are paper thin, you could here conversations as if they were in our room. You could hear people arguing from the floor above us, throwing things at each other. The heat would not turn off, the fans high speed was a slow churn; had to sleep with windows open.
we have used this hotel numerous times as it is nearby the St. Francis hospital... also walking distance to Union Square and a bus ride away from many attractions in the city
loud neighbors last visit-- had to call front desk
free wine degustation with a group of musician is a great idea that I have never seen before: congratulation !
too noisy : sound proofing with corridor and neighbour not good enough
Friendly staff. Nob hill is bohemian, with nice alternatives for dinner, etc.
Noisy. Old building so noise travels across rooms quite easily...
- Beware central but central in a seedy area (1 2 blocks from not feeling safe ) (you need to follow specific routes to avoid prostitutes and drug dealers) - I found a blonde long hair in my beard in the morning, I'm dark!) - the receptionists take so long...
The people in the front desk are nice!!!
I was checking in December 30 2014, today is January 22th. I still Don't get my 300$ deposit back, I try to call them twice but doesn't work if anyone try to live in this hotel, DO NOT DO THAT!!!!!!! Otherwise NEVER get you money back!!!!!!
