The quaintness was attractive. and it was nicely appointed. The shower was lovely...best thing in room! Beautiful grounds..
When I heard "suite," I thought for sure it would be bigger.. Disappointed in the size of the room Small bathroom, a turn off. Not an adequate vanity..small space for cosmetics..
Breakfast was good quality.
I loved the garden atmosphere, the outdoor fire pit, and the that breakfast was included. I also was happy with our room upgrade (room 8 is beautiful). The staff was helpful, happy and friendly.
The location is near a busy street so there is traffic noise, however this is beyond your control. I think an ashtray and/or trash can should be available near the fence area and another by the bus stop to avoid possible littering. Room 11 could use a piece of art of the wall to dress up the small room.
Beautifully maintained gardens. Nice clean fresh room. Good value for money
Cottage suite was spacious and comfortable. Beautifully furnished, large comfy bed and exceptional bathroom. Huge flat screen wall mounted TV. Good breakfast. Helpful staff. Good location but no sea views, on edge of suburbia of Carmel.
Wet bar/kitchenette needs linen, dishwasher liquid and bit more cutlery to be more useful.
Cute little garden. Had a glass of wine sitting by the outdoor fire watching the hummingbird and enjoying the plants.
This place is right on the highway before cars slow down. The J. Lohr and Jouillian rooms have road noise on one balcony and by front door although bedroom and balcony over garden is a little better.
The room was elegant, the bed was extremely soft, the TV & channels all worked fine. The balcony looked out onto a nice garden courtyard. Breakfast was fantastic - Bagels, croissants, fruit salad, yogurt, muesli/cereal. Location was fair. 10-15mins walk to downtown, or a 5 minute drive. Staff were friendly (the gentleman on the later shift was very helpful and polite).
Parking/driveway was a little tight, and street has no sidewalks. The hotel itself doesn't have much to fault.
The breakfast was exceptional. The complimentary wine and cheese were lovely. The gardens were exquisite.
Some of fixtures were a little worn and rusty or hanging lopsided in our bathroom in the J Lohr room.
We absolutely loved the Inn! It was very quaint and pleasant. It wasn't fancy or over the top but cozy and romantic!! The bed was amazing! And that is the most important part to me anywhere I stay. Tom greeted us when we arrives and was so very helpful and was patient as we asked many questions that he happily answered! Also wanted to mention breakfast, it's wonderful! You don't want to sleep through the morning and miss it! We stayed in the Twisted Roots Room, love it!
Wasn't sure if there was an a/C.. We are from Texas so of course we have an a/c, we usually sleep with the a/c on 68! We like it cold. At first I was afraid this was going to be a problem but we opened the windows and it was just fine with the cool fall evenings in California.
Nice & quiet
This was a last minute booking. I was very surprised with the quality of this hotel! The flowers were blooming giving a fresh fragrance at the hotel grounds. Rooms were new and very comfortable. Breakfast was awesome! This hotel values the quality of stay of it's guest! Definitely recommend this hotel!
I can't remember anything bad..
Not much. Tried to like the coffee in the office but that was horrible also.
Our room was booked online. We paid 209.00 per night which is reasonable for Carmel but our room was not more than a closet. Space other than bath was about 64 sq ft. We could barely move around let alone get ready for a wedding. Horrible experience.
Ok breakfast, friendly staff and clean and cosy rooms.
Everything was perfect. Accommodations, value etc. and the continental breakfast was a pleasant surprise, better than most. Will come back for sure.
There were no negatives.
Fantastic location about a mile from downtown. Nice staff especially the night keeper, Tom. Wifi was shaky in the room, but there is a nice fire pit and a lobby with cheese, wine, and breakfast where you get wifi fine.
Staff was great. Very knowledgeable about the area. Room was very nice, like how each room is named after a different winery. Had a king suite very comfy bed. Excellent breakfast in the morning.
A little far from town on a busy road. But the value of the room was worth it.
Room was beautiful, but very small. The gardens and flowers outside were beautiful, great view from balcony.
Would of liked a little coffee maker in room. If you get up early, office doesn't open til 8am. Needed a fan without air conditioning, difficult to sleep, very warm.
Loved the location and the room!
Rude staff....they clearly do not understand good customer service!
Nice room and very good breakfast
Room beside à bush street. Very noisy.
Helpful, friendly staff. Tom provided great recommendations for restaurants, made reservations on our behalf and offered good local knowledge. Breakfast was superb. Bonus was free cheese/wine on Friday and Saturday evenings plus fire pit lit after dark. Would definitely stay again.
Continental breakfast was very good.
Without AC, we found the room stuffy. A ceiling fan would have been perfect, but at least an oscillating fan would have been okay. Also, soaps and shampoos were not replenished.
Breakfast was great
Plumbing was loud Bed was not comfortable
Nice and clean. Recently remodeled rooms. Spacious and comfortable. Nice grounds. It's about a mile to walk into the village, which is a nice walk through the neighborhoods, but if you like a quick walk to the shops, restaurants, etc., then you may want to stay closer to the village.
This hotel is on one of the main arteries off off Hwy. 1 that leads into town, so there is some traffic noise. Our room was right at the front, off of the street, so the noise, even into the late night, was very noticeable. Some of the rooms that are not right in front may be quieter. I would not let this fact discourage me in the future, but if you are looking for a place that is whisper quiet, this is probably not it, due to the traffic noise.
Turned off the gazebo music and lights too early. Hotel ground lights are too bright (they should be softened)
Warm stuff (team spirit) Breakfast (variety, everything was fresh) Recommendation: Room with patio away from street Bathroom Great restaurant recommendations from stuff
Couch too big for the room
