The space! 2 balconies, a fireplace, 2 bathrooms and ample seating, sleeping accomodations and a hardy continental breakfast! We were more than satisfied! Also.. location, location, location.. great eateries, botiques and friendly faces made Adobe Inn a force to reckon with! This unit doesn't disappoint!
The unit is older and could use a little more TLC... but it doesn't take away from the positives!
Great location in the heart of Carmel. Underground parking. Excellent breakfast delivered to your room. Spacious comfortable room.
Low water pressure in the shower. No towel hooks in the bathroom sink area (no place to hang your face towel). No magnifying mirror.
We felt we got a great room for a great price. The staff was friendly and we were glad there was onsite parking. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to our family and friends.
Everything was great, it was all we could have wanted for the price. Thanks again.
Excellent accomodations. Friendly staff. I would definitely return and recommend to others. Great location for exploring Carmel's shops, restaurants and beach front.
Room layout, quirky artistic style, included breakfast that changes daily, staff friendliness, access to boardwalk/bayfront walking/biking/jogging trail, rooftop lounge open all the time, with heaters.
Very difficult to find initially, drove past it 3 times....possibly some sort of well-lit marker light or something? However we did arrive at night.
Friendly staff. Large rooms, good facilities. Breakfast served in the room. Balcony with great views.
The location and price was good.
The TV was at a 90 degree to the bed, and we were awakened at 3:20 AM by the fire alarm.
Nice place, centrally located to restaurants, beach and shopping. Nice heated pool, complimentary continental breakfast, quiet and peaceful.
Hotel needs a renovation, but is a bargain for the location.
Location and proximity to amenities excellent.
Room was dim and furnishings shabby. There was leaky bathroom sink faucet and the shower only had a rather awkward handheld device.
We liked the updated room and the use of real keys vs. key cards. The room was larger than expected and was more contemporary than anticipated after seeing the building from the outside. I was not too sure about the facility when we first arrived. We didn't use the fireplace, but that was also a nice surprise. Service was good and the rates were affordable in comparison to other inns in the area. Convenience of free parking before and after check-in on respective dates. This was very appreciated. Free cookies and Ghiardelli chocolates a nice touch, and the hair and beauty products, number and size of bath towels, and other amenities made for a pleasant stay.
The location was farther from the beach than anticipated (while the walk to Nielson Market and some other locations was reasonable). The shower head was way too low for both my husband and I. It was not a very comfortable shower experience for me (5'5") or my husband (6') - we both had to slouch. The patio leading to our room was in need of updating - plants do not look healthy and there is a musty smell in the outdoor area leading to the room. The same smell exists in the lobby. The beach was inundated with flies - most likely due to lack of raking in the mornings and seawood. We were surprised that the local inns and residents are not addressing the fly issue as the white sand beach is beautiful. It was not always possible to relax and enjoy the beach due to the flies. We moved to the middle of the steep hill on our last day to avoid them, but overall...the walks, views, charm of the community, and overall experience were enjoyable.
Large room, good bed, close to Main Street
A bit tired
The location was excellent, but the maintenance of the rooms was not up to standard. The breakfast included in the price was nice, but there was no table in the room to eat it at
The staff could have bee.n more accommodating. We were first given one room where there were too few beds. The room we were then offered did not have the ocean view we had paid for.
Decor rather outdated
Great location - just off Ocean Avenue but in a quiet location
Bathrooms dated - we had a ground floor room and there was noise from above
Perfect location for short stop when travelling on the Pacific Highway Very nice village, good restaurants Clean, spacious rooms
poor Wifi Breakfast was brought to the room but was rather basic (but it was incl. without extra cost)
He took an arrogant position that room booked through Booking.com was not entitled to his own email confirmed room.
Vacationed in Carmel annually in the 80s and early 90s. Always stayed at the Adobe Inn. Our recent stay proved they are still the best!
Location: Central to all the shops, restaurants. On a quiet street a few walkable blocks from ocean ave. Hotel staff: very friendly, accommodating, give u cookies at check in and bring ur breakfast directly to ur room with hot muffins and warm granola. Over all, I would give this hotel 5 stars for location and service / 2-2.5 start for the actual facilities.
Reservations: made mine through booking.com, rate was on the high end and the total amount that was clearly labeled in bold font, actually was plus 10% room tax. Special requests need to be made directly to the hotel or no guarantees. Hotel facilities: in general, hotel shows signs of age, deterioration, and could stand a bit more TLC. A fresh coat of paint, changing of carpets/tiles, slightly more updated furniture and it could easily be a 5 star. Rooms on the 2nd floor, back of the hotel, have an semi-ocean view from the balcony but are less visible from within, d/t a cinder block balcony. From the damaged concrete steps to the overall dated feel of the facility, not a four star hotel, as advertised on booking.
Bed was fine
Bathroom amenities poor! Very outdated. Expected more for the price. Hotels with similar accommodations were cheaper & closer to water. I know because after we checked out we found a room one block from beach, better room/bathroom for $50 less/nite.
Located in in one of the main streets close to some amazing restaurants. Loved the fireplace in the room, gave it a very warm and cosy feeling. Very clean and good sized room.
Our room didn't have an outdoor patio or a great view of Carmel.
As above, walking distance to all the restaurants etc in Carmel
Carmel in general is v expensive including this hotel. No real view from balcony other than rooftops
Location, staff was polite, continental breakfast, free parking
Their elevator door hits you if you happen to be on the 2nd floor and someone on the ground or first presses the button for the elevator. The door shut on my right arm twice. Routine maintenance not done, thermostat peeling off the wall, heating not good, lamp shades had holes in them!
rooms were very comfortable and charming. Hotel has a Good location. Breakfast delivery to the room was ok( our suggestion they should include bread instead muffin on the options)
Staff was ok but not so well prepared to give touristic informations about surroundings cities.
Location, pet-friendly, very accommodating staff, large room
Very Old facility. Doors/woodwork need replacing. Balcony is not clean with old furniture and old outdoor carpet. "Cement" wall unattractive. I probably won't stay here again....
