Absolutely stunning. The rooms and gardens are superb. Having stayed at many top hotels around the world over the last 30 years we would put Vagabonds at the very top. Highly recommended. Nothing.

What a gem of a B&B-we enjoyed our fireplace in the room along with complimentary champagne for our 30th wedding anniversary. Sitting in the courtyard enjoying afternoon wine and cheese was wonderful and Sunday morning we got our own private piano recital when one of the guests sat down to play on the grand piano in the office. instead of the usual B&B breakfast in a common area, they bring you breakfast to your room off a menu of your choosing. It was an idyllic way to spend our anniversary. We will definitely be back and request room 8. It is a small boutique so don't go there if you need a hot tub or pool.

The property was a vacation oasis. From the moment we were greeted by the reception clerks upon arrival until our departure, the staff's attention to our needs and wants was exceptional. They treated everyone with courtesy and like they were guests in their home. I also appreciated the whimsical decor but with all modern amenities and everything from bedding to bath towels was clean and tasteful.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was excellent - 11 - like being in a tree house! The 6pm wine gathering for guests when we could share ideas about travel, and relax.

Wonderful location. Rooms each have unique character. Ours had wood burning fireplace and we spent nights listening to the running water of the beautiful water feature near our front door. Wine and cheese gratis in the afternoons and great breakfast.

We were greeted with a smile and a glass of wine. It was a real warm reception and we appreciated that very much. Our room was ready and waiting for us. It was spacious and had a separate seating area with some complimentary brandy and glasses. With a fire place and full kitchen, we were very happy and had everything we needed. The breakfast they served each morning was lovely - tea, coffee, juice, pastry, boiled eggs, granola and fruit. The garden area was pretty with its waterfalls and foliage. The location was great - just a few short blocks to Ocean Avenue and only 1 or 2 blocks to many restuarants. Just a lovely experience all around.

It was centrally located. Good comfort level . All basics covered. Good decor, bedding, towels etc. lovely staff. No stove top or oven so food prep was very basic even tho it had a kitchenette space. No heat in bathroom. It was cold when we were there. No view at all from room 2 on main floor except of courtyard where others walked by regularly so required keeping blinds closed at all times if we wanted any privacy. Bad tv set up really old tv and 'box' required two remotes often to make it sort of work. Over priced for what is offered I think even for Carmel.

O café da manhã servido no quarto é delicioso. O hotel é bem charmoso. Não tem ar condicionado e tem mosquito. Tem muitas escadas, o que dificulta para quem está com muita bagagem.

this was my 4th visit here. My favorite room is #11. I love the original history of the bldgs. The front desk service (Randall) was excellent. I don't remember having my luggage ever taken to my room but this time it was, along with personal tour/instructions of the room/fireplace. the room has tons of windows and you feel as though you are in a tree house. I love the sound of the waterfall and you can hear it if you have the windows open. The original artwork gave the room such a personal and cozy feel. The kitchen and bath areas are very roomy, but I kept the doors closed to these areas to keep the heat in the room. The bed was very comfortable. My dog loves the place and slept in front of the fireplace. A Norman Rockwell scene! The split door is fun in the summer when it is warm. And of course, the complimentary breakfast was good. My dog even got a small bowl of biscuits! I am not an early riser, although most guests seem to be, but housekeeping starts a bit early and can be noisy.
