The staff was lovely. You can't ask for better hosts
Wonderful breakfast each morning. Friendly helpful staff. Beautiful room and garden patio. We will be back ….and bring our friends! Donald, Ann Arbor, Michigan
Clean but dated and shabby inside. Overpriced as is everything in Carmel. Very lovely and kind staff!
I traveled with my daughter and her family. We had two rooms, both were very clean...everyone agreed the bedding was comfortable. The staff was lovely and the breakfast good, with adequate variety for our whole group.
Loved everything. Friendly staff, cheese and wine, location, breakfast, comfort were all excellent. Being this good must be a hell of a lot of work.
We will be back again. Lovely little little cottage setting with a wonderful and amazing staff.1
The place feel like home
Everything...knowledge/friendly warmth from owners to all staff. Fireplace, great beds, walk ability, breakfast!
The room was clean. Very private, easy parking, excellent staff. We enjoyed all aspects of our stay.
Host Julian was excellent Wine and snacks very nice
Breakfast was poor
The very cozy and homey feel of the place completes the ambience of Carmel by the sea .
The rooms were a bit small.
Gorgeous linens, very comfortable bed. Workable kitchenette. Fireplace ready to go! Quiet stay. Kind staff.
It was a bit chilly with a much welcomed storm and the heater in the wall worked but not that effective. the minute you turned it off (it was noisy) the room cooled off, so probably not that well insulated. The shower head was a bit dated also. No heater in the bathroom. If you like the rustic feel...this is your place.
- Staff was very friendly. She also provided many information we need to know to travel via the Coastal drive. - The afternoon cheese and wine was good. - Breakfast was really simple and awesome! - The bed was very comfortable. The room was really cosy. I love the ambience. - Location was a bit difficult to find, but was very convenient.
The owners were so friendly and helpful.
The Inn is "rustic" but comfortable and a great location for exploring Carmel. If you want a sterile "chain room" then I would not recommend.
location, charm, breakfast, and staff
fireplace smoked us out. twice!
parking is a bit scarce especially when you come in at night.
The feel of a bed-and-breakfast; lovely patio area with beautiful planters; nicely decorated rooms with kitchenette; friendly and helpful staff!
Apparently only 1room has 2 beds - that was booked. The others are king or 1 queen with a sofa bed. The sofa bed was uncomfortable - it had a thin mattress that sunk in the middle. We would recommend not using it as a bed!
Carmel Garden Inn was charming, beautifully appointed, and perfectly kept. Staff was wonderful! Lovely breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese such a treat.
Comfortable bed and separate living room with TV and fireplace, patio and dining area were nice, staff was so kind and offered us ideas on places to stop and explore on our honeymoon! Even enjoyed a bottle of wine from the owners!! Loved this place!
Staff was very accommodating and provided a take-out breakfast because of an early tee time. Great location, close enough to walk to Main St. but far enough away for peacefulness.
A little difficult to find.
The owners and staff were very knowledgeable and helpful about the Carmel and the surrounding area's establishments and activities. The morning breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese spreads were simple, but, very tasty.
Room was a little dated.
This Inn was a few blocks off Ocean wwwhich is Carmels busiest street so it was quiet. You could see the ocean from the second floor. Wine and cheese at four pm and breakfast was all tasty. Owners Mary and Susan were very friendluy and helpful.
Breakfast and hot d'oeuvres were excellent. Home baked and prepared items.
Coffee was a little weak for my taste, but I imagine they have to please the most people.
Terrific staff! Proximity to Ocean Ave. Easy parking. "Best pricing" compared to other properties. Quiet. Good bed and linens. Nice wine and cheese hour. Nice, minimal breakfast bar.
Black mold in shower. Wet rot elsewhere around the bathroom. Bathroom needs a lot of work. Terrible lighting; no place to read, even in bed. Nice big floor-to-ceiling mirror but there is no lighting so it's essentially useless (since the overall lighting is so poor). Even though it was "best pricing", it is still awfully expensive for what you get.
