Beautiful "back in time" town good for visiting whether warm or cold weather
many restos were a bit expensive as well as the hotel but very nice I must admit.
Expensive, Old room, Old equipment, Slow wifi
The place smelled horrible and the bedsheets & room decor looked like something from the 1970s. It would help a lot if they updated the rooms.
it was close to all shopping and restaurants
the mirror in the bathroom was much to small and high. could not see into it at all!!!!
Close to shopin and resturants
Room was like sleeping in a hall way. Very small and bed was pushed up against one wall
There's no on wifi no my room,I was a pregnant mother of nine months ,they gave me a second floor room,I asked they help me put my luggage in the room,Front desk said there was no time.
Great location in charming Carmel Friendly staff
Attractive room with four poster bed. Close to the town and with parking onsite. Friendly receptionist who was helpful
Breakfast was pretty grim in a tiny stuffy room - still it was complimentary but not very good.
We were two Norwegian couples travelling together. A wonderful gentleman wished us welcome when we arrived and when we chedked out the next morning the woman was just as nice. Good beds in nice clean rooms. Being located in the middle of Carmel made it easy to see what we wanted in the short time we had there. We will ask for this place again next time in Carmel.
Convenient location. Walk to stores, restaurants and beach. Quiet when we were there. Nice breakfast room
Can't think of anything
I thought it was a bit outdated in the decor but the room was nice. It was a little difficult to get information about places to eat because there were no menus from any restaurants nor did the front desk person have suggestion. They did offer a breakfast that was bagels and juices coffee it was a nice start to the day.
The price was a bit to much I've stayed in San Francisco at nicer hotels with real breakfast for less
Size of room very good. Tidy and decor a bit chintzy and flowery but clean and not worn. Good bathroom.
Tiny communal breakfast room. Toaster not working. Poor quality food. Building work going on outside.
Comfy bed... Loved having breakfast supplied. Great to have bar fridge, easy access to town.very clean
Local knowledge of front desk employees.
Loved Carmel .....beautiful people, great scenery, great restaurants will recommend Carmel inn to other travellers
That we didn't have time to stay longer
Very cosy Great location Pretty decent breakfast to begin your day
Very expensive, especially on weekends
Location Parking Wifi Room/shower
The "breakfast" was as bad as it gets
Location Bathroom was updated
Room and furniture a bit old fashioned but comfortable
We got King suite which according to the description on the Booking site, it could accomodate 4 (with sleeping sofa) when we got there, they had the king bed and no sofa. The suite had those antique and pretty unusefull chairs, you could no way sleep on. I thought I had booked for 4 and I even wrote that on the comment area, but the owner said, they never read the comment area and I should have called them!! They did not even have a rollaway bed and they were solid booked. My husband had to go to Funeral, so it was only 3 of us. and we had to fit ourselved on one king bed. It was pretty annoying and uncomfortable. I did my homework and I did send them an email too, but they said , they did not read anything. I was desparate, so we said nothing but I told them I was pretty un-happy.
Location was ideal for sightseeing and dining in Carmel
1) Price was too high for the quality of the hotel and room 2) Breakfast which was included in the price was too simple. There was no cream cheese for the bagel, there was no meat (sausage, ham, etc.) at all, the apples in the basket all had lots of dust
The two rooms were nice and accommodated all 4 of us very well. The beds were adequate. :)
Breakfast was just fruit, cereal and the usual array of pastries, nothing special.
No view. No area to relax except by pool which is totally ancient. And out of repair and whole place needs up-dated!!!!!!
It was the perfect spot, perfect with children older or younger and outstanding value for money.
Clean room . Very quiet close to shopping. Felt very safe. Comfortable bed, slept great.
I liked everything!!!!!!
Booked a king suite with king bed and daybed with trundle. After hauling luggage upstairs noticed the very small loveseat did not pull out into a bed and there was no daybed. The desk help insisted that was a sofa bed. I explained that my best friend and I were not sleeping together and that I had booked the King suite with a daybed. He had to go look at the room himself after arguing that it IS a bed then said in order to provide the correct room he had to call his boss 1st.They then took a while to figure out where the room with trundle and King was.Once he figured it out he charged me more than originally agreed upon to have that room.I booked through a travel site and when I tried to show him the printed description and price of the room he was argumentative. After a very long trip we decided to take the room rather than driving all over to find another. I had booked this same King suite for a future date at the same time we booked this trip. When trying to confirm that this would not happen again with the room switch for the next trip I was again told he would check with his boss and call me . Days have gone by with no call back. I feel like this is a bait and switch that works well on a tired traveler.I cancelled my future reservation as there are many options in the area. I have been traveling to Carmel for years for business and leisure. I have never had a bad experience prior to this. The worst part is that the front desk clerk did not even understand the law regarding my service dog.He tried to tell me she could not be in their hotel and I had to explain the law to him. That has never happened in my travels and was extra surprising for Carmel.I feel they did not return my call for the 2nd reservation due to my service dog because when I asked him to confirm the room he asked if "the dog" would be with me.That is not even legal.
