Convenient location. Walk to stores, restaurants and beach. Quiet when we were there. Nice breakfast room
Can't think of anything
Size of room very good. Tidy and decor a bit chintzy and flowery but clean and not worn. Good bathroom.
Tiny communal breakfast room. Toaster not working. Poor quality food. Building work going on outside.
Loved Carmel .....beautiful people, great scenery, great restaurants will recommend Carmel inn to other travellers
That we didn't have time to stay longer
Very cosy Great location Pretty decent breakfast to begin your day
Very expensive, especially on weekends
Location Parking Wifi Room/shower
The "breakfast" was as bad as it gets
Location Bathroom was updated
Room and furniture a bit old fashioned but comfortable
We got King suite which according to the description on the Booking site, it could accomodate 4 (with sleeping sofa) when we got there, they had the king bed and no sofa. The suite had those antique and pretty unusefull chairs, you could no way sleep on. I thought I had booked for 4 and I even wrote that on the comment area, but the owner said, they never read the comment area and I should have called them!! They did not even have a rollaway bed and they were solid booked. My husband had to go to Funeral, so it was only 3 of us. and we had to fit ourselved on one king bed. It was pretty annoying and uncomfortable. I did my homework and I did send them an email too, but they said , they did not read anything. I was desparate, so we said nothing but I told them I was pretty un-happy.
Location was ideal for sightseeing and dining in Carmel
1) Price was too high for the quality of the hotel and room 2) Breakfast which was included in the price was too simple. There was no cream cheese for the bagel, there was no meat (sausage, ham, etc.) at all, the apples in the basket all had lots of dust
The two rooms were nice and accommodated all 4 of us very well. The beds were adequate. :)
Breakfast was just fruit, cereal and the usual array of pastries, nothing special.
No view. No area to relax except by pool which is totally ancient. And out of repair and whole place needs up-dated!!!!!!
It was the perfect spot, perfect with children older or younger and outstanding value for money.
Clean room . Very quiet close to shopping. Felt very safe. Comfortable bed, slept great.
I liked everything!!!!!!
Booked a king suite with king bed and daybed with trundle. After hauling luggage upstairs noticed the very small loveseat did not pull out into a bed and there was no daybed. The desk help insisted that was a sofa bed. I explained that my best friend and I were not sleeping together and that I had booked the King suite with a daybed. He had to go look at the room himself after arguing that it IS a bed then said in order to provide the correct room he had to call his boss 1st.They then took a while to figure out where the room with trundle and King was.Once he figured it out he charged me more than originally agreed upon to have that room.I booked through a travel site and when I tried to show him the printed description and price of the room he was argumentative. After a very long trip we decided to take the room rather than driving all over to find another. I had booked this same King suite for a future date at the same time we booked this trip. When trying to confirm that this would not happen again with the room switch for the next trip I was again told he would check with his boss and call me . Days have gone by with no call back. I feel like this is a bait and switch that works well on a tired traveler.I cancelled my future reservation as there are many options in the area. I have been traveling to Carmel for years for business and leisure. I have never had a bad experience prior to this. The worst part is that the front desk clerk did not even understand the law regarding my service dog.He tried to tell me she could not be in their hotel and I had to explain the law to him. That has never happened in my travels and was extra surprising for Carmel.I feel they did not return my call for the 2nd reservation due to my service dog because when I asked him to confirm the room he asked if "the dog" would be with me.That is not even legal.
Front desk upgraded one of our rooms to a suite and it was perfect! Property was clean and quaint. Breakfast was quick and kids loved the pasteries. Location was perfect . Value for price was great. We had a wonderful stay! Thank You!
We only wish we could have stayed longer!!
The location was fine.
Not a very friendly staff. Breakfast area not so clean and not much of a selection. The jam was old and they put new right on top rather than getting rid of the old first. Did not have the Carmel charm. Over priced, most we ever paid in 50 years, Of visiting and liked the least of any place ever stayed. Would not stay here again.
Loved my stay in Carmel. Decor just beautiful. Easy walk to town, great restuarants just across the street. We loved it so much we stayed an extra day. Highly recommend. Thank you Anne-Marie from Sydney Australia
Quaint furnishings. Canopy bed. Lots of space in bedroom.
Poor breakfast in a tiny, uncomfortable room.
Very spacious room, the design with lots of character. The bed was fantastic! We didn't want to leave. Very close to the Main Street with the shopping promenade, plenary of places to eat out nearby. Walking proximity to the beach - though bear in mind that the walk back from the beach will be up the hill, in case it's an issue.
Plastic Cutlery & Crockery. Breakfast supplied was below our expectation.
the layout of the room, the furniture, really romantic. really enjoyed the time
the room smelled like a bit Oak wood smell from the furniture i guess. but overall we really enjoyed it
Liked the location and the staff.
We had to change from our first room because there was no hot water in the tub/shower and the shower head didn't turn off. The in-room refrigerator was about 1 cubic foot and located under a shelf - very hard to get to. AND it was broken! In the second room, there were problems with the shower head dripping or running while the tub was in use. Also, there was a mosquito net suspended over the bed (for "atmosphere", I assume). It was installed with a simple eye hook (no toggle) and came down while I was sitting on the bed putting my shows on, hitting me in the head.
Excellent location, walking distance to a deli just down the road. Comfortable beds, clean and crisp sheets. Small but clean bathrooms. Try YAFA, the Mediterranean restaurant across the street.. delicious food and cozy atmosphere.
Being an elderly solo traveler with knee problems the guy at the front desk couldn't be more helpful. He upgraded me to a more expensive ground floor room at no extra cost. When I needed to contact friends outside of Carmel, he gave me his cell phone to use...customer service was the best I could have had and made my stay trouble free.
