This hotel was within walking distance to everything in the town
Bathroom /shower room was very small. Sink had no vanity so very little space to put anything
The staff were nice, the room was spacious and lots of towels. Nice big comfortable bed too. Location was great.
The price was outrageous for the standard of the hotel. Was very dated which we didn't mind but it stated that breakfast was included. Croissant and coffee doesn't suffice as breakfast for me. Especially for the price we paid!
Location - easy walk to town Friendly staff
Very noisy especially when dog residents are barking Pool not open Carpets need cleaning No bath tub Front office noise audible at all hours
Was greeted by Beth who could not do enough for us. We had a beautiful room with a cute balcony. Room was very pleasant with good amenities in the bathroom and a lovely light breakfast delivered to our room the following morning! Free parking and wifi
For our 2 night stay i couldn't have picked. Better Place
Very good location and value for the price is good
Very little bathroom Breakfast was not really a breakfast....a coffee, little orange juice, one croissant and 2 strawberries per person
Great location easy to get to Ocean street and you can walk to the beach Room was very nice and airy Bed was very comfortable I would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice hotel with a good location in downtown Carmel.
Pillows were Way too big and too hard Room could have been a bit cleaner They forgot us for the free breakfast on the second day had to call and remind them even though I had confirmed the night before
Need to upgrade the Televisions
My family has been coming to this location for many years (when it was known as Carmel Sands). It has a great location and in the past it was VERY reasonably priced. Even though it is older and does not have update bathrooms we still find it a nice place to stay. They also brought us continental breakfast in the morning which was nice.
It needs some TLC. Everything is clean but bathrooms in particular are pretty outdated.
Not enough information regarding sleeping rooms available.
The location is terrific, with walking close to the center of Carmel, restaurants, beach, galleries. Carmel is just a great place to visit The motel/hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating, the room spacious. But I would recommend only when they finish remodeling and pay more attention to detail.
Apparently the hotel/motel has been remodeling for some time. It has a bit of a worn look. Our room could use a bit of a paint job around the door and door frame. The shower was tiny with no room to put any body wash or shampoo. For the price, while in range for Carmel, you expect a bit more attention to detail including more substantial towels, more than two individually wrapped flimsy plastic cups in the manner of a cheap motel. The idea of a continental breakfast delivered to your room sounds inviting, but one croissant with no jam or butter, one paper cup of coffee, and two small strawberries rated at the bottom of any that we had on a longer trip that included places less upscale than Carmel.
I originally booked my room at Booking.com for one night. Several days later, I modified my booking through Booking.com to stay one extra night the following night. But when I arrived at the Carmel Lodge, they only had me booked for the first night. I will not use Booking.com next time because the booking status is not acurate.
easy to access, comfortable bed, sufficient parking on property
street noise came through the windows of our room
Location - walking distance to all the wine shops, dining, and beach.
Breakfast - why serve a croissant with two strawberries? They should serve a decent breakfast for the above average price to stay at Carmel Lodge.
Bed was comfortable. Wi-Fi. Nice room location. Accessibility to downtown. 10 minute walk to beach. Able to check out the night before since I left very early the next day, but...
Noisy upstairs people (woke me). Old bathroom fixtures, tile, etc., so even if clean, didn't look clean. promised a bill via e-mail...not yet received, no clue what I paid.
Location Very comfortable bed Great parking
The bed,the parking.
The facilities are too old.
Very nice bedding.
Extremely noisy. Banging doors that don't close quietly and stick. Dogs and kids run up and down landing outside bedroom areas. "Breakfast"? 3 strawberries, 1 croissant and coffee or tea. REALLY? TINY bathroom with no storage place to put cosmetics, travel kit or anything. Shower is very small and no where to put shampoo items or body wash.
Very nice and recently updated. Most of the smaller hotels around Carmel tend to be pretty dated, so it was nice to stay somewhat that was clean and fresh
Two blocks off Ocean--perfect location for a two day stay in Carmel. Friendly staff, clean though dated room.
Small bathroom with no shelf space at sink.
Location was very good. just two streets from Ocean Ave, the main street for the shopping and uptown district. the maids were efficient and did a very nice job. Staff were pleasant.
The rooms were old. Very Spartan. At first I could not find the closet. the door was stuck shut becaue of recent painting and i though it was a furnace closet. Turned out to be the closet, 3 x 3. Too small for all our stuff. Shower was clean but only 32" square. The vent fan in the bathroom was amazingly loud and annoying, it ran the whole time the light was on. Normally when I book a room, they take our credit card number and we pay at the end of our stay. When we arrived they made us pay up front for the whole time. Lastly, the TV was a little 16 or 18" tub set. We had to sit on the end of the bed to see it. I had to conduct business for about 2-3 hours each day and my wife stayed in the room. Also there was no small refrigerator, so any food we bought or left from a meal out could not be kept overnight. I know this was peak season in Carmel and so the $673 for three nights was reasonable for the area. Just not what we had hoped
Small but clean rooms and bath. Very comfortable bed. Some noise from maid staff below our window but not too troublesome. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Breakfast was served to room, limiting the amount and any personal food choices to the Inn. Good location in Carmel.
Room updated. Clean. Friendly.
Wished it was more quiet. That I wasn't alone.:(
Front desk staff and location were great
The room was totally outdated and not worth $200. Tiny/old TV, most power outlets didnt work for charging, bathroom was size of a closet.
Love the parking And the location
I arrived early the guy at the front desk took my cell number to call me when the room was ready ( he never did) the breakfast was the worst I couldn't even eat it !!! One of the staff members was banging on the door while I was in the shower !!!
