Need to upgrade the Televisions
My family has been coming to this location for many years (when it was known as Carmel Sands). It has a great location and in the past it was VERY reasonably priced. Even though it is older and does not have update bathrooms we still find it a nice place to stay. They also brought us continental breakfast in the morning which was nice.
It needs some TLC. Everything is clean but bathrooms in particular are pretty outdated.
easy to access, comfortable bed, sufficient parking on property
street noise came through the windows of our room
Location - walking distance to all the wine shops, dining, and beach.
Breakfast - why serve a croissant with two strawberries? They should serve a decent breakfast for the above average price to stay at Carmel Lodge.
Bed was comfortable. Wi-Fi. Nice room location. Accessibility to downtown. 10 minute walk to beach. Able to check out the night before since I left very early the next day, but...
Noisy upstairs people (woke me). Old bathroom fixtures, tile, etc., so even if clean, didn't look clean. promised a bill via e-mail...not yet received, no clue what I paid.
Location Very comfortable bed Great parking
The bed,the parking.
The facilities are too old.
Very nice bedding.
Extremely noisy. Banging doors that don't close quietly and stick. Dogs and kids run up and down landing outside bedroom areas. "Breakfast"? 3 strawberries, 1 croissant and coffee or tea. REALLY? TINY bathroom with no storage place to put cosmetics, travel kit or anything. Shower is very small and no where to put shampoo items or body wash.
Very nice and recently updated. Most of the smaller hotels around Carmel tend to be pretty dated, so it was nice to stay somewhat that was clean and fresh
Two blocks off Ocean--perfect location for a two day stay in Carmel. Friendly staff, clean though dated room.
Small bathroom with no shelf space at sink.
Location was very good. just two streets from Ocean Ave, the main street for the shopping and uptown district. the maids were efficient and did a very nice job. Staff were pleasant.
The rooms were old. Very Spartan. At first I could not find the closet. the door was stuck shut becaue of recent painting and i though it was a furnace closet. Turned out to be the closet, 3 x 3. Too small for all our stuff. Shower was clean but only 32" square. The vent fan in the bathroom was amazingly loud and annoying, it ran the whole time the light was on. Normally when I book a room, they take our credit card number and we pay at the end of our stay. When we arrived they made us pay up front for the whole time. Lastly, the TV was a little 16 or 18" tub set. We had to sit on the end of the bed to see it. I had to conduct business for about 2-3 hours each day and my wife stayed in the room. Also there was no small refrigerator, so any food we bought or left from a meal out could not be kept overnight. I know this was peak season in Carmel and so the $673 for three nights was reasonable for the area. Just not what we had hoped
Small but clean rooms and bath. Very comfortable bed. Some noise from maid staff below our window but not too troublesome. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Breakfast was served to room, limiting the amount and any personal food choices to the Inn. Good location in Carmel.
Room updated. Clean. Friendly.
Wished it was more quiet. That I wasn't alone.:(
Front desk staff and location were great
The room was totally outdated and not worth $200. Tiny/old TV, most power outlets didnt work for charging, bathroom was size of a closet.
Love the parking And the location
I arrived early the guy at the front desk took my cell number to call me when the room was ready ( he never did) the breakfast was the worst I couldn't even eat it !!! One of the staff members was banging on the door while I was in the shower !!!
The location was very good at the center of carmel
We ordered a regular room which was found to be a very small room, no place to sit, no refrigerator and no cofeemaker. We couldn watch TV because it was in a closet that couldnt be complitly open. After we complained we got another bigger room but stil - no refrigerator and no cofeemaker. Those rooms usually cost more and are on the ground floor.
We spent 2 nights here on our way to San Francisco The room was lovely and clean very spacious. Friendly helpful staff the cleaning lady was so lovely always had a smile she even bought us our room service breakfast would stay again
Great location in the center of Carmel. Very easy to get to all the shops, restaurants, and beach.
Cleanliness, location, welcoming people
The location is wonderful. We parked and didn't move our car for 3 days! We were close to shopping, food, entertainment and the ocean! The bed was comfortable. It was nice to have a balcony.
The room was not very clean. We found a bottle cap on the floor upon entering, and grime/hair behind the bathroom door and mold on the ceiling of the tiny shower. Small bathrooms with no counter space. The staff double charged our credit card, then had a difficult time fixing the mistake. Our receipt still shows double billing. Breakfast is a VERY small continental. The disturbing part is that it is delivered in the morning with a knock on the door and someone announcing "breakfast". The whole floor hears this over and over, so if you want to sleep in, forget it! Speaking of sleeping in, we got a 5:30 wake up call on Sunday morning, but didn't request one! I brought my swimsuit, but the pool was waterless and closed with no warning when booking, or discount. Only one ice machine located on the bottom level. We were on the 2nd level.
Very cozy, well decorated, nice staff, good breakfast, very close to the beach, stores and restaurant.
The pool was out of order.
proximity to downtown and the old charm feel to our room
was just a little pricy
I guess the location was decent. most things were within walking distance.
our room was facing the west and getting a lot of afternoon sun, room was hot and stuffy upon check-in, so in went to turn on the A/C to cool the room off, and was surprised to learn that there was no A/C?? I don't think I have ever stayed at a motel in my life that didn't have air! they had a small fan on the dresser... Bathroom was pretty small also. For what I paid, I will stay elsewhere or at motel 6, which is what this place reminded me of!
Everything was perfect thks
