Starting we our check in Karen was so sweet. Our room was adorable! We enjoyed the brandy in our room. The fruit basket they leave is so kind.We truly enjoyed our breakfast that was delivered to our room in the morning.I didn't want to leave.
rude service very bad breakfast (old products) very noisy (one can hear very loud other people using bathroom and taking shower)
Provided extras like fruit basket, sherry, a nice continental breakfast was dropped off at the door in a basket. Had a nice table for two at the door. Even bath salts were provided for bath.
The hotel is well located 50m from the main street. Easy walk to beach, shops and restaurants. Very comfortable bed, large newly renovated bathroom. Excellent breakfast basket.
No aircon, windows open is fine except at 6am when then service vehicles are in the street.
Location, rate we paid, bathroom, bed.
Just about everything else..... If we had paid the full rate, seriously upset. Room small, in need of repair, no aircon, mouldy complementary fruit... And more...
Fruits, cookies and drinks in room Rich Breakfast basket Soft towels Homly Atmosphere in the room
WLAN did not work
Rooms are nicely decorated, clean bathrooms. Location is great.
Glass panel windows (not full glass), no air conditioning, parking just outside doors (noise and smell). Hotel desk was not that friendly, but helpful.
the location the quaintness the housekeeping staff
It is advertised free parking, there is not enough parking It is advertised they will meet you with a glass of wine, that did not happen, we were invited to wine and cheese on the patio, but there was no one to serve the wine, so no one had any. The refrigerator in the room did not freeze ice, we were reimbursed $10.00 a day off our bill because of this. We were told we could have ice brought to our room when we asked the manager acted like she could not do that, as their ice machine was broken, stated she had offered to change our room, she had not, and then went on to blame her staff for this problem. After we checked out I got notification about the $10.00 a day, change on my bill.
Very comfortable, king size bed. Location was fantastic.
Ground floor rooms are right in front of the parking area and people can be heard climbing the steps. However, guests were very quiet at night and we slept well.
Breakfast was good.
The parking situation. No elevator.
Walls were so thin; absolutely no privacy so honeymooners or leisure travelers, this is not for you!
I liked the room. The guitar player in the evening.
Room not made up. No breakfast one morning. Staff not trained properly. Language barrier.
Overall the location and staff was great. They were nice and friendly. They were very accomodating.
They room was a bit small and the parking area was really tight. No air conditioning and the shower head was very old. A microwave would be helpful with all the extra leftover food we had. I think the small little things like a great shower head and microwave would definitely made it a bit better.
Old rooms where you can hear everyone next door and above you. Horrible beds.
Great location and the French doors.
Loud British people who smoke every 5 minutes (not the hotels fault but still sucked)
Location in town
It was very noisy. The trash man woke us up. Limited parking. The ice machine was broken. Would not stay there again.
The location was good, and parking was included in the price of the room- which was nice considering the location. Once all the initial unpleasantness of dealing with the "new manager" in the office was settled, and we were able to finally get the room we actually reserved- it was ok.
We showed up and a blonde lady in the office who wore sunglasses the entire time and said she was the new manager tried to "upgrade" us into room #1- which looked like the maids quarters and was located inside the lobby (this was the ONLY room in the hotel that was literally INSIDE of the lobby. She even handed us keys to the front door of the hotel/lobby and told us that when she closes for the night, it was our responsibility to make sure the lobby door was locked). A queen size bed filled the room wall to wall, it had a musky smell and no natural light- it felt like we were in a dungeon. We told her we were very dissatisfied with the "upgrade" and just wanted to stay in the room we booked. She absolutely refused and said she had already sold out the rest of the rooms, so the room we booked was taken. We then asked for a refund which was not granted. We went outside to contemplate our options and when we came back in about 30mins later, she offered us the original room we booked along with a $25 restaurant giftcard for the inconvenience as we were visibly disappointed. Once we finally got our room, it was fine and we had a nice weekend. As were leaving town on Monday morning we attempted to activate the giftcard to use at a restaurant before we left- it said our giftcard had a $0 balance. Our main disappointment lies in the customer service we received, and the fact that after all the trouble we went through just to get the room that we reserved and paid for- the giftcard didn't work.
Manager very rude when checking to the Hotel.
The location was ideal.
1. Work being performed in the room next to us early in the morning. 2. The sound insulation was extremely poor. We had to listen to our neighbors talk day and night. 3. The bath was cramped. 4. There was no ice machine. 5. Glasses and coffee service was poor. 6. The Continental Breakfast was cheap in relation to the price of the stay, and in relation to the many other B&B's and boutique inns that we have visited. 7. Staff was poorly trained, and seemed unconcerned about their guests
The location was just right. Easy walking to all the wonderful shops, to the beach & ocean, and to the fun variety of eateries. The bed was comfortable and the morning breakfast basket delivered to our door was a lovely way to start the day.
We missed not having ice available, and not having a microwave in the room.
Beautiful city. Place was ok for one night. Maybe a little small for longer stays.
Nicely located near the middle of town. Quiet location. Great people at the inn. Very responsive A lovely place to stay and a good value. I would stay here again. Parking can be a challenge if your rental car was a beast like ours. Dog friendly Close enough to the beach Plus 75' from great coffee
Not a business place. No desk, Wi-Fi was marginal and not enough plugs. However a minor inconvenience. Place was nice
lovely . sweet rooms near the main street .. ocean drive. Leonara welcomed us and explained everything. Small room but perfect for this town. and walked to everything.. very cosy . no facilities .. just room and parking.. but the town has everything
I loved the charming cozy room decor. I loved the carafe of sherry. I loved the bed, it was very comfortable. I loved the extra blanket provided. And I loved the robes in the bathroom. The TV was terrific. I loved the location. We were able to walk to the beach and to the shops and restaurants. I liked the courtyard landscaping and quaint building exterior. I liked Leora, the hostess.
I did not like the breakfast at all. It was very disappointing. Mostly unhealthful stuff with no protein. And what was up with the Activa yogurt? That is a laxative and not something I would eat before a long drive. Given the proximity to so many wonderful food purveyors in downtown Carmel, you could do much better for your guests. I also did not like the parking arrangement that would have required me to back my car up a steep incline and into traffic. I chose instead to park in a residential street a block away. I did not like the vinyl floor in the bathroom. Tile would be more in keeping with the classiness of the decor. I did not like the lack of sound insulation in the rooms that made people's conversations and sneezes too loud and intrusive. Thank goodness no one in the adjoining room engaged in any acts of intimacy during the night. I was traveling with my teenage daughter and that would have been so awkward.
