This B&B looks like it's falling apart at the seams. The shutters in our room were broken. So was the switch on the lamp. The bathroom was original, from the 80s maybe, with rust around the built-in tissue holder. There were some funky velour and sheepskin covers on the bed that I was certain hadn't been washed in a while. The staff was uncommunicative. They didn't tell me anything about the room. And didn't answer the phone when I did call from the room.
Needs a bit of landscaping and yard maintenance. It could be a much cuter place if they would put some time into the garden.
The originality of sleeping in a cottage The overall is really nice Having a basket with breakfast although they knock at your door between 8:15-8:30am
There was sand in our sheets which proves they had not been changed... Also the piping was somewhat defective and old. The motel is located far from downtown, which can be an inconvenient for some, and an advantage for others meaning it is (a little bit) more peaceful
A little walk to downtown but totally manageable Private + relaxing location if you prefer to be out of the action
Good, spacious, comfortable accommodation. We loved being able to sit outside.
Nothing comes to mind.
The resort is very old. Rooms are small and unleveled eich made me dizzy. No vent in the bathroom. The price is too hight for such accomodations.
This cozy "campus" of cabins is sweet and my style. Appreciated the refrigerator/coffee maker and the breakfast basket. The fireplace added some warmth and coziness to the chill in the air....
The only criticism and it is not really one...would be the personal items given to use in the bathroom. May have had to call front desk for a bit more if I had not had my own items. If this keeps price point down... I am in!
Reception staff were not very helpful
Quite, peaceful, good surroundings with nature on your doorstep. On site BBQ and outside seating but unfortunately reserved for a party on the night we stayed so had to sit on lodge doorstep.
A long way out of the Main Street and beach so had to drive but no big issue if you didn't want to drink. No food/drink outlets within walking distance.
place is neat and clean
price is too much for limited amenities
Clean, tidy, we'll priced short nice walk into town.
Nothing to dislike
The location was quiet and nice. Comfortable bed
The pillows in the bed
Ease of access, no stairs, cost
rooms are pretty spartan
Rooms were clean and large with a lovely table and stools to eat at. staff were pleasant and accommodating. Breakfast arrived on time and was adequate. Liked the idea that we did not have to leave the room to get breakfast. Good place for the money.
Decor outdated but that didnt really bother us. Was quite a long walk to the beach but as we love walking that didnt matter!
---unique individual cabins - the outdoor patio area could have been a bit cleaner...
We would have liked a small refrigerator -- the idea of a basket of breakfast was good....cute concept...
Two Bedrooms with sinks separate from living area. Cute cottage. LOVED the water pressure. Nice TV.
Needs ALOT of TLC and could be a wonderful place. Needs new beds. Needs paint and more chairs in sitting area. One couch and two chairs for a two bedroom cottage is not enough seats.
It was the cheapest hotel available on short notice. The idea of a private cabin was appealing, but...
It was not impressive in any way and not all that comfortable–the sheets were kind of rough (old?).
The price and the cottages are quaint and separated from one another. The bed was comfortable, good tv/wi fi
Distance from town. Even though it was an older building they definitely Although they had updated some furniture the cleanliness and general upkeep needed to be cleaned up. The shower had mold on the grout, one faucet was almost falling off the wall, the cabinet for the tv stuck out in front of the vanity/sink so only one person could use at a time. Light at nightstand was unplugged and we couldn't reach behind bed.
I liked the individual cottages. The inn was easy to locate. The staff was friendly.
The accommodations were adequate, although the resort was rather outdated in its decor and amenities. The "continental breakfast" resembled a collection of items which could have been picked up at a convenience store. Just expected more for the money we paid for an overnight stay.
Not a thing. Photos online were absolutely nothing like we encountered. I can't imagine anyone with a good conscience recommending. Still in shock
Everything total disbelief. A Girl scout cabin much better than this Horrible dirty dark old smelly Not even a table or desk 2 lamps 1 broken tiny dingy bath Sink next to head of the bed
We stayed for one night. Room was confortable, clean and the staff were friendly. Overall a good place to stop for a short time.
No hot water.
Quiet individual cottage on the outskirts of downtown Carmel Friendly staff Nice continental breakfast Comfortable beds
Everything is dated and bathrooms need to be re-done, faucets falling off of walls in shower. Sinks don't drain Rooms have old armoirs's that take up too much space. and very odd decor no dining table in rooms to eat breakfast at. Could be very cute and comfortable with some work done.
Spacing of Bungalows, size of room, and the setting.
I am a car guy, so during Monterey Auto Week this place is great because I can park my "special" car off the street. The staff is courteous and helpful, the basket breakfast delivered to your door is tasty, and the stand alone cottage is quiet and comfortable. My wife is a "walker", so she enjoyed the fifteen minute walk to/from downtown Carmel to enjoy "lunching and shopping".
The grounds could use a little "sprucing up" around the whole property, and the cottages could be updated a bit.
