hot tub not working and grounds could have been cleaned better.
Price and location were great
The description of the cottages was amazing!!! I couldn't wait to get there... when we arived it looks like the rooms haven't been updated since to 70's... we went to sleep listening to the neighbors music and woke up to someone throwing up... needless to say there wasn't much to stop the noise from entering our room... the hype about breakfast is nothing special, a costco muffin juice box and banana... what I had pictured in my head of this "resort" was nothing like it turned out to be.
No wifi access in my room and no phone in the room to be able at least to let my family know I had arrived safely. No options on breakfast - I don't eat muffins, bananas and full fat yoghurt. Nothing else offered. I asked for a cup of milk (for tea) when I arrived. I was told they didn't provide that. The manager had a surly attitude.. No refrigerator. In room even though I had read that there would be. I found it very overpriced for such a jaded looking facility.
I can not access WIFI during the stay and there is no pick up when I tried to call receipt ion. This is not good experience especially at the eve of Chinese New Year
the room is an individual lodge, very big. I liked it. It made me feel at home. There was a staff sent free breakfast to our room at morning.
The wifi is poor.
We stayed at this resort when we first met 33 years ago & wanted to stay here for our 30th anniversary to commemorate our first getaway. It was great to stay in the same cottage & reminisce. It made our anniversary extra special. Thank you
The dacor needs to be refreshed & lightened up. Other than that, these cottages are very sweet.
The room was nice. The bed was super comfortable. The water was hot. The people were friendly.
When I got back to my room around 9:30 pm I found that my card key didn't work. The office was closed but there was a telephone number provided for assistance. I called and a nice man said he would be there shortly....and he was. I guess I was hoping that someone would appologize for the inconvenience of having to sit in the rain while waiting for a new key. Also the fireplace that was advertised was a wall heater with a glowing log. Big disappointment.
The bed (although old) was comfortable and the location for our purposes was excellent. Staff was very nice but did not fix the phone during our 2 day stay, nor the TV, on the 2nd day.
The TV did not work (day #2) The in room phone did not work (days 1 & 2). The small gas heater in the wall did not work on the last day.
The cottage thing was kind of nice
It is just old. The shower head hits you in the chest. The TV's were dinky. The decor was decades old
Everything was wonderful me and my wife had a fabulous time staff was great she was very friendly.Pet friendly a plus. Was just here in January coming back again February for sure.
Room felt like we were going down hill but it was very clean and breakfast was great!
The natural beauty of the surroundings
everything needed updating and some TLC
I liked the tall ceiling in our room. The bed was very comfortable. What a nice touch to have breakfast brought to our room. We enjoyed walking from our room to the beach and downtown Carmel.
The wifi did not work well in our room.
Excellent and helpful front desk.Delicious free breakfast delivered to a cute historic cottage, Really nice with a fireplace and comfortable bed free WiFi,microwave and fridge!enjoyed our stay!
The cottage was very comfy and private. The fireplace set the mood. Not having to get up to go to breakfast was wonderful. They bring it to you. It was a continental breakfast. We will be going back there soon.
It was a nice size room. Beds were comfortable. The ceiling architecture was charming. Morning breakfast basket was more than we could eat and the weather was great that weekend. All in all a great trip. The price was great too.
They are older but have been updated and nice for the price.
The facilities are poorly lit and it was very difficult to find our room at night. We were placed in the back, next to the trash bins. The rooms looked uncared for, like they were falling apart. Television wouldn't turn off in my mom's room, and stayed tuned to 1 channel in our room. The pictures/ads for this place are deceptive - it looks like it's owned by neglectful people who have neither the money nor the desire to take care of the property. I feel sorry for the staff. Breakfast was terrible: Packaged muffins and packaged danishes. WiFi didn't work.
The ease of the location to find for someone unfamiliar with the area and the individual cabin.
It was a bit on the old and shabby side. Needs a good upgrade.
The tranquility of the location. Fireplace quietness.
There was a gas leak in our room and we couldn't get a hold of the staff late at night when it woke us up as it was New Year's Eve. My mom had a horrible headache the next morning and all they did was discount $40 as compensation.
