Limited parking lot
The location is probably one of the best you can get in Carmel if you like to walk around in the village during the evening. Walking distance to everything and really cozy, free parking which is great and it has the old feeling even tho it's pretty clean.
Nothing really, stayed here 2 years in a row for the car show. Only 21 years old but the ullage is for older people.
Clean, quite, nice breakfast. Very well located, close to several good restaurants and beach.
Had a very comfortable and enjoyable trip. The hotel is very charming, beautiful flower baskets and gardens. Enjoyed the breakfast offered and the staff were very helpful. Location is excellent, just steps away from the main village/shops and a 10-15 minute walk to the beach. Carmel itself is beautiful! Would love to go back.
Good breakfast and staff service
Rude staff Overpriced Basic breakfast Old fashioned rooms need refurb ASAP
Our room's corner top floor location, proximity to main shopping street, walkability of Carmel, parking easy, delicious breakfast included.
Any other room might have had too much foot traffic in front of the room as walkways go full length of building to allow guests to get to their rooms.
Location to downtown Carmel amenities. Price was fair, and the room clean and staff friendly.
Small room, small soaps,
- Breakfast was much better than I expected - Quiet - Clean
- Late checkout means 11:30AM!
Price was unbeatable for Ocean Ave. location in Carmel.
Room not very soundproof.
I cut the bottom of my foot on a nail protruding from the threshold to the bathroom, and the desk clerk came immediately with a first aid kit and, upon seeing the damage to my foot, instantly volunteered that our room for that night would be comped. I also liked the location, which was easy walking to all of the shops and restaurants.
Very jammed parking lot, and no air conditioning in room, although there was a fan available.
Quite an intimate atmosphere and some effort had been made to upgrade the room. Reasonable location in town, close to amenities.
No airconditioning, not a very nice bathroom, very small rooms - basically feels like a motel that has been upgraded (quite well) - all of which would have been ok if the price had matched this, but it was exorbitant - $500 for one night (apparently because of a car convention in town). Not worth the money!
The place was clean. Breakfast better than some places. Location. Right at the corner of Ocean and Junipero. Convenient.
Needs a renovation. Take the plastic flowers out. No AC. Some may not location because of traffic but didn't bother me.
This property needs a handyman! Hot water reversed in shower DANGER! Windows have handles that are broken so can't open without climbing outside and hand pulling out windows. No air conditioner! Stuffy room. 200 year old mattress. Not a pleasant place to stay!
Good breakfast. Close to everything.
NOISY!! Pipes creak Old, outdated facilities We had an employee walk into our room at 12:30 pm. When asked about it they claimed they tried to call first because they thought there was a water leak. NO ONE CALLED and they didn't knock and there was no leak!!
Good parking spaces, right downtown, Friendly
It lacked air conditioning. My wife had to clean the tub prior to using it.
Close to town
Old in side outdated ,hard to park. Way over priced could have stayed at the pebble beach lodge for the price they charged
The location was great, it has a cute cottage feel, comfy beds , good breakfast with home made quiche and fresh fruit .... Clean facilities
The fridge was in the bathroom
* Carmel ist very beautiful * the closeness to the beach * the breakfast was good with fresh quiche * the breakfast staff was very friendly * nice room for the price
* the desk clerk was not very helpful, perhaps she had a bad day
Bathroom In Serious Need Of Updating. Furniture Was Old, CHipped And Tacky.
The shops and restaurants were right across the street. The hot breakfast was very nice, nice assortment of options. Staff was very friendly and helpful, we had a lot of questions about restaurants and they were able to guide us.
Parking was a little tight if you had a larger vehicle.
Breakfast was fresh fruit, quiche, cereals, breads and juices and was resupplied throughout breakfast. It at least made the morning seem a little better.
if there is none! There were no parking places in the parking lot of the motel and we were told to park on the street (but to be sure to move the car before 9:00 so we didn't get ticketed). The car had to be parked 10 blocks away because it was a busy Saturday night and there was no parking available on the street either! The room was $200/night and after just spending $229/night at the Marriot Marquis in San Francisco, this did not seem like a bargain or a good value. No airconditioning and the fan didn't really do the job of keeping you cool so sleeping was fitful. With the windows open to try to get some air circulating, there was noise throughout the night.
We were welcomed by friendly and accommodating staff! The location could not have been more perfect, in fact if we could have, we would have stayed a few more days! This was a clean, small, charming room and a pleasant surprise!
Only one thing beyond staff control...people were smoking outside our room and it came through the open windows and door (not the best seal on the door.)
basic motel, good location, very clean, AM very noisy with traffic and delivery trucks. lovely flower boxes
breakfast buffet could have been fantastic. when we arrived around 9Am coffee was empty, only 1 fruit left, yogurt empty, only 1piece of quiche left-it was unedible as it was undercooked.tried to get the attention of the 2 women in the kitchen with their backs to the window, finally went to the kitchen door-only one woman spoke English and seemed to be disturbed that I bothered her. rather than replenishing
