The location is good for me. The staff were courteous. The room and bathrooms were clean.
San Francisco is an expensive city. I realize the cost is much lower than most hotels, but it's expensive coming from NM.
We had a corner room at the back, which was light and quiet. There is a good neighbourhood down the road for restaurants, and it's near one of the Big Bus stops which was convenient for us. Otherwise the location might be a bit out of the way. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The corridor has the unmistakable weariness of a dingey hotel which is a pity, because it brings down the atmosphere of the whole place.
Friendliness of staff Quietness of room Size of room Cleanness of shower & toilet
Price was high Breakfast (hardly any) Bed was not very comfortable and a bit short (I am 6 foot / 183 cm)
I loved the cleanliness. The whole place is more like a dormitory, where bathrooms are shared in the hallway so just a heads up.
The location, the room, the price, the value.
It is a city and if you have the window open it will be noisy.
extremely friendly stuff which is ready to help with anything, good location, clean, free wifi, free breakfast and coffee
room could be bigger
Bed was comfortable Staff friendly
Small breakfast Lack of proper heating and cooling Stair well and no lift Noisy location
It is really well located and it was possible to find a parking spot on the street. Breakfast and shower were good things as well.
Cleanliness to be improved. I would suggest to get rid of the carpets.
There really isn't anything bad to say about this hotel. Staff was friendly and bathrooms even though we're shared were constantly cleaned. Rooms were small but good for the price. Overall was a nice experience.
No air conditioning
Nice staff, great coffee machine and a nice pastry breakfast to get you started each day. Bathrooms and showers always clean.
The noise from other people staying there made it very difficult to sleep most nights.
Location, staff, price and the bay windows on my top floor room, which I had requested when I booked the room. I was pleased with that!
The carpet in this hotel needs to be ripped up immediately. A lot of effort has gone into the renovation of this former Univ. of San Francisco dorm and the hotel is super cool and San Francisco-y but the carpet is a disgrace. We couldn't figure out how they could've spent money on the upgrades without removing the disgusting carpet.
Friendly and helpful.pretty area.
Needs some paint and new carpet in rooms.
close to everything as its just in the middle, even if not too much immediately around it.
water pressure at 9am on the top floor shared showers can be shocking
the walls shake from people in other rooms
Great location, easy to find; Staff gave us a small ventilator for stuffy room; For other options in central San Francisco it is a reasonable price; Free good coffee in the morning but pastry only before 10:30 (we missed it though); free fast wifi; toilet and showers clean
Carpet in the rooms are old and stained; No air - window goes into glass roof sealed courtyard; Clairaudient hallways with squeaky room doors.
Great location. Good view. Really felt like San Francisco, not just another bulk /standard hotel. The staff was friendly, helpful. Great for a one nighter where/when you want to take in the city.
Parking. Shared bathrooms for the entire floor. No screen in Windows, kids could open it and fall right out. No individual A.C control, just went off entire floor A.C and it could get a bit stuffy at night.
Location near the less part of the Haight was great. Sunday night Jazz Jam session was awesome.
2 German couples kept almost everybody with an interior room up all night while they were talking or fighting...LOL. Interior rooms get hot and do not have any good means for ventilation as the roof top is covered.
Excellent customer service
Cost Character Staff Location - bus trip to town but walkable
Shared bathroom but expected that and it was always available
I would highlight the very friendly staff for anything you asked for. The shared bathrooms were Very clean. For us it was expensive for the offered services and room, but the average prices for acomodation anywhere in sanfrancisco are quite high.
There was no lift in the hotel. The breakfast was Very basic.
It was very clean.
They were no full size mirrors in my room...only the small mirror above the sink in the bathroom. And I didn't have any blankets.
Great staff. Very friendly and helpful.
The room was the the size of a shoe box. The "air conditioning" was non existent. I was given a fan however it sounded like a F1 car at full revs! The place should be classified as a hostel , not a hotel, then people would expect these issues... prime position though.
Fair price and a good location, a bit outside the city center, but it was easy to hail a taxi and get to the center, inexpensively. Also buses go directly to Market Street. Nice coffee machine at breakfast buffet.
Not really in walking distance of anything interesting, perhaps except Haight Ashbury and the Castro districts. Rooms (like the rest of the hotel) are a bit worn, but clean.
We came to have a bike experience in SF and this place was great. Only a few blocks from a great bike rental; CityRide. Excellent location for biking to both the city and the Golden Gate.
The coffee machine closes at 11.
