Staff and location
Lack of elevator, room facing the street so it's quite noisy at night as there are quite a number of vehicles passing by
Location was great, staff was very friendly, building was very well kept
Rooms were dirty
Nice neighbourhood. Great location. Close to public transport.
Stains on the floor. Awful smell to the room. Paper thin walls. No ventilation. The only sinks are in the bedrooms (none in the bathroom/toilets). Bed was uncomfortable. Reception wasn't manned early morning when we had to check out for our flight despite saying 24 hours.
Position Free Parking in the area is not difficult to find
The place is very noisy No quality of sleep Bathrooms were not clean Bed not comfortable Custumer service to improve
Comfortable and convenient. All new fixtures and finishes. Small but cozy
Street noise during the day but quieted down at night
Great location with good line bus combination!
Thin-walled, You could hear everything that made the neighbors
Bathroom, recently refurbished
Hotel is located along busy street, sound isolation of windows is poor, therefore room is very noisy. Internet was working poorly, making it hard to use Internet to plan your activities. Parking is a nightmare. Despite the fact I was out from 08:0 till 17:30, room was not serviced.
The reception desk was really helpful. Always asking if they somehow can help us. There is a little breakfast every morning and also a machine for hot drinks working every day 7am -11pm. The location of the hotel is good.
No air-conditioning Our hotel room was very small but it was good enough. The last thing- there is no lift. When you have many luggage and stay on the third floor- it is not perfect but that was not a big problem.
Very noisy (street)
If you're not picky, it's a pretty good place to stay. It isn't fancy, but the rooms are clean and there are no bugs. This is perfect for people who want to spend most of their day (and money) exploring the city and having fun. There are some great places to eat on Haight St. nearby and a roller disco around the corner.
It's a little on the expensive side considering it's basically a hostel - but everything's expensive in SF.
The rooms were clean, staff was helpful. The bathrooms were totally fine being separate from the rooms.
The walls were very thin. I spent most of my night hearing other peoples conversations and doors opening and closing. Next time I'll bring ear plugs!
The hotel was cleaner and less noisy than I would have expected from certain reviews which I had read prior to my stay.
Value for money, but San Francisco is notoriously overpriced. The breakfast is basic at best. I was assured that my security deposit would be transferred back to my credit card from which it was charged, but I'm pretty sure that that never happened.
Poor isolation resulting in having street noises (cars) the whole night and a cold room. The entire hotel is smelly/dirty
Cheap, good location near Alamo Square. Friendly staff. - it's a very very inexpensive hotel by SF standards, so it's important to be realistic about what to expect. Fridge in room is great to have
Room was very noisy next to major traffic thoroughfare (Fell). Bed was ok nothing more. No elevator. Looks a bit rundown.
We stay there every year to go to a festival. The location and cost keeps us going back. It is difficult to find accomodations for that price in SF.
However, its cleanliness ie: the filthy carpets and general need for a redecorating is more prevalent each year. It has recently changed owners or management and they are quite an improvement! They were all pleasant and helpful.
The location is good for me. The staff were courteous. The room and bathrooms were clean.
San Francisco is an expensive city. I realize the cost is much lower than most hotels, but it's expensive coming from NM.
Staff service is attentive even when I arrived late at night. Front desk provided information about public transport
No air condition, which means it's really hot in the day. The fan they provided was inadequate. The hotel is quite far from major attractions like Golden Gate bridge, Fisherman' s Wharf even though it has good access to public transport
We had a corner room at the back, which was light and quiet. There is a good neighbourhood down the road for restaurants, and it's near one of the Big Bus stops which was convenient for us. Otherwise the location might be a bit out of the way. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The corridor has the unmistakable weariness of a dingey hotel which is a pity, because it brings down the atmosphere of the whole place.
Friendliness of staff Quietness of room Size of room Cleanness of shower & toilet
Price was high Breakfast (hardly any) Bed was not very comfortable and a bit short (I am 6 foot / 183 cm)
Location is great, in a lovely neighbourhood with plenty of bars and restaurants. The place itself is not that great, but the staff makes up for it, being very friendly and accommodating. Shared toilets and showers were very clean.
No elevator, so carrying a heavy suitcase up and down wasnt fun. No real breakfast offered, except apples and some supermarket packed pastries.Room was very small and not aired. The only windows gave into an extremely small interior yard (more like a shaft actually). Having a considerable nr of rooms around that, you hear absolutely every single noise coming from them. Trying to get a good night's sleep with Spanish neighbours partying and Germans fighting is not an easy thing. If you pick this hotel, definitely ask for a room on the street's side. During my stay there, the lights were not working in one shower (no window either), which left only one functioning per floor.
I loved the cleanliness. The whole place is more like a dormitory, where bathrooms are shared in the hallway so just a heads up.
The location, the room, the price, the value.
It is a city and if you have the window open it will be noisy.
extremely friendly stuff which is ready to help with anything, good location, clean, free wifi, free breakfast and coffee
room could be bigger
The location and price. $250 is high, but it's San Francisco.
Charging my card for a returnable damage deposit; no water glasses in room, traffic noise.
