Cost Character Staff Location - bus trip to town but walkable
Shared bathroom but expected that and it was always available
I would highlight the very friendly staff for anything you asked for. The shared bathrooms were Very clean. For us it was expensive for the offered services and room, but the average prices for acomodation anywhere in sanfrancisco are quite high.
There was no lift in the hotel. The breakfast was Very basic.
It was very clean.
They were no full size mirrors in my room...only the small mirror above the sink in the bathroom. And I didn't have any blankets.
We came to have a bike experience in SF and this place was great. Only a few blocks from a great bike rental; CityRide. Excellent location for biking to both the city and the Golden Gate.
The coffee machine closes at 11.
Bathrooms and showers are filthy. Walls are thin. No air circulation/ventilation. TV in awkward position in relation to the bed causing neck strain.
The hotel has a nice feel to it
The street outside can be very noisy
noise, there should be a rule of costumers to be quiet after 10 p.m., respect
It was affordable compared to many other SF hotels we looked at, and the room we got (room with shared bathroom facilities) was great. The bathrooms were clean and we even got towels (and bathrobes!) which was unexpected and a nice touch. The little sink in the room was handy and the beds comfy. All in all would recommend if looking for a non-expensive place to stay in SF.
Location was not prime for SF tourism, but buses were easy enough to catch from nearby. Noisy at night, but that is expected in the city so it was ok! Even after we arrived after 12+ hours flying.
Having a fridge and a TV
Couldn't read at night because there was no lamp and when I asked for one I was told I couldn't have one.
Very helpfull staff!! Nice neat clean hotel
A little noisy throught the night (the walls are paper thin
Friendly staff, safe location, great transport links bus stops near hotel. Good cheap restaurants a couple of blocks from hotel. Continental breakfast complimentary which includes danishes, fruit, tea and coffee facilities.
The only compliant you could make about the accommodation of the cleanliness of the carpet. Carpets are stained but slippers are provided.
Great host and reception. They put effort in keeping you satisfied and making you happy.
No laundry even though it was advertised.
We liked the convenient location and the modern use of a small space. The refrigerator supplied in the room was awesome. The coffee maker was phenomenal!
The road noise coming from Fell street made it very difficult to sleep. There was also no water available in the room except from the sink. The sheets for the beds were pretty stiff and there was no central A/C or fans, so the air seemed a little stale. The continental breakfast should probably just be called "Bananas and Danishes".
Rooms too small for two persons
This hostel is centrally located to many great neighborhoods in San Fran. Great little bar/restaurant street less than a 5 min walk away. The hotel was cheap, clean, and quiet.
The street is very noisy and when the weather is warm the rooms could really use a fan. The internet was also very slow.
The location was ok, about 35-40 minutes walking from Union Square and quite close to Castro. The staff was pretty nice and they offer a suttle service to the airport which is only 15$ per person, not bad at all.
There is no lift so if you are in the 2nd or 3rd floors prepare to take your luggage. The room didn't have a cupboard so you need to leave everything in your luggage (not good). They gave us soap but when we finished it they never replaced (and we stayed four nights!). The Wi Fi connection worked very poorly, having to go down to the lobby if you wanted to make sure you could surf the Internet. Had it been cheaper, it would have been ok, but as it is quite expensive, we expected something better.
It was good for the price especially considering San Francisco prices. The location was convenient. The facilities were very basic; internet never worked.
Little more care can make it more worthwhile - sink was faulty and response was we always have problem with that sink. Internet never worked. No fridge, microwave, or amenities in room
Great hotel for budget travelers exceeded my expectations
Endless tea and coffee day and night. Light breakfast included
Noisy traffic in front rooms
I liked the room. The toilets and showers were clean. The girls at the front desk were always really nice.
The beds could be better, and bigger. Its such a shame we couldn't get our own bathroom, you could hear everything the person in the room next to you was doing. not so awesome. also, where's the elevator?
Easy to get to and from BART, Embarcadero, Civic Center, Hayes Valley, Crissy Field (the Bay), Union St., and the Mission. Very clean.
The rooms are pretty bare bones. No elevator. Lots of street noise. A fan would help.
attractive hotel boasting Victorian architecture located near other houses of this period (including the Painted ladies) quick bus ride into city centre - also within walking distance located near Mission and Haight districts, Golden gate park and Japan town so enough variety of activity within the area helpful staff clean showers and toilets. Easy access to both even though shared facility good value for money
Extra comfortable bed, good shower, clean shared bathroom, free coffee all day.
