Location was excellent and the house itself immaculate and homely
The ensuite toilet was a bit temperamental
Casa Luna has a perfect location,Two steps from Castro MUNI station. My wife and i stayed at The Studio,a cosy little apartment.
Bathroom is tiny and the shower head is too low even for me that I am 1,78. Not a big issue though.
Very clean and comfortable. Great location.
The gay community in Castro is fixing up the original architecture of the area giving it a very unique atmosphere. We celebrated my daughters sweet 16 birthday at Orphan Andy's, our favorite diner near the apartment. The apartment was great, and we would love to go back sometime.
We were locked out of the apartment when we arrived due to having the wrong door code. Since the rental office is in another location, it took an hour or so to get the right code by phone.
The location to the Castro is second to none! Beautiful views and comfortable, king bed . . . . soaring high ceilings!
Furniture is starting to show some wear - particularly the sofa and master bedroom night stands - this is an easy fix, so not sure why they have been neglected.
Central and colourful location, near to transport connections which provide a quick trip into the city. The house as everything you could possibly need or want. Much better than central city hotels because it felt like being in a community albeit for the short period we were there.
Not a thing.
Fantastic accommodation, great kitchen, short walk to cable car. It was an absolute delight after spending 20 hours in transit to arrive at such a lovely apartment with my wife and three young children.
lovely touches like fruit in bowl, cheese and crackers. kitchen beautiful and well equipped
location slightly out of town didn't feel too safe out at night - would not have gone out alone. (a lot of beggars
kitchen location books and movies wifi is fast parking garage was easy clean
small bathroom - towels don't dry broken crib a window lock was broken
Quiet, convenient location in the Castro. We stayed in a charming and very well-appointed carriage house apartment with full kitchen and in-unit washer/dryer. The beds were extremely comfortable. Lovely garden and private patio. A great value.
Hassle free, and close to muni, buses and BART. The room had a great kitchen to cook and entertain from. Good layout and no sterile hotel feel. A homely gem in SF.
Excellent location away from Downtown SF which we liked.
Slightly musty smell as basement flat.
A very luxuous flat, very well located and extremely comfortable. Maybe better for a couple with one kid than with two grown up teenagers but still excellent.
The stairs to go to the flat when carrying heavy luggages and the absence of parking place
We got the Studio apt. It was very convenient. Debbie was kind enough to offer us also another apt across the garden as we assumed wrongly, the Studio can cater 4 people.
The bath requires renovation
They have established a great balance between a home away from home and the freshness of a hotel. We did not feel like we were borrowing someone's home (which we would not have liked), but were very relaxed in a cosy space (much nicer than a hotel suite.) Very good amenities including super WiFi, laundry facilities, free land line, gorgeous location, super master bed with excellent closet space and good appliances.
No one responded to calls/messages on emergency numbers--do not bother with Debbie, the manager--she is terribly unhelpful. She sent us the incorrect access code, and if it wasn't for our local friends we would never have known and would have been, literally, on the street with small children at 1:30 in the morning when we were due to arrive after a long day of travel. When we finally did make contact with her she could not have cared less and when her grave error was discovered by the very helpful general manger, Wyatt, (excellent service from him) we never received an apology from her. Debbie, in our opinion, is a liability. Cleanliness could have been better (especially as all guests are charge a $150 cleaning fee.) Dirty cupboards and drawers and smelly bathroom cupboards; dirty laundry closet; several bottles of old, past their sell by date condiments in the fridge and cupboards; duvet and pillow covers had not been washed and smelled used. House plants needed some love and attention--perhaps better to remove.
Appartement was top, we payed 1150 us for three nights, and stayed with 5 people.
Curtain in the master bedroom should keep out more light,
The place was great looked just like the photos. It was beautiful. Wifi was fast, and had a good Castro location.
Shower head was a bit small for my 6ft boyfriend.
Lovely and luxerious appartement! Everything splendid! Wow!
Even thought it is nice to stay in Castro, it is a bit far away from the center of SF
Location is very close to rail/bus stop, which made it easy to get around. Traffic noises are tolerable. Spacious kitchen to cook and eat. Room for kids to spread out and rest.
Constantly awoken by leaking toilet in master bath (close to bed) that caused tank to refill. Called for repair but was not present to witness any possible attempt to fix. Ended up having to turn water off myself at night.
Very comfortable, clean and well furnished accommodation. Our 2 bedroom apartment had everything. The cheese plate, wafers and fresh fruit were wonderful extras that made our stay perfect!
Next to transport Quiet, off the street
Accommodation could have been cleaner it was a bit grubby and was a bit damp A full length mirror would have been good as would somewhere to sit and dry your hair
Upon arriving at Casa Luna at nearly 2:00 in the morning, we found the studio suite in complete disrepair. There were soiled sheets strewn about the bed, piles of wet dirty towels in the restroom, and dirty dishes in the kitchen. No one would answer any of the phone lines at that hour so I was forced to use the emergency line. The housekeeper lives over an hour and a half away so we were given the code and told to change our own sheets and get clean towels, etc. We were refunded for our night due to the mishap, but what is really mind-blowing is the fact that the housekeeper did not come until 5:00 the next evening. I would think after that monumental of a mistake (it was the first night of our honeymoon also) cleaning our apartment would have been a first priority. Additionally even after the cleaning there was an odd musty odor. The bathroom was also inconveniently small and there wan not an outlet to plug in a hairdryer. Overall we were very disappointed in Casa Luna and advise others to find somewhere else to stay during their San Francisco vacation.
Very clean and comfortable.
Check in is difficult for me . Please let the customer know how to enter the room in advance.
The essential oil shower gel/toiletries are excellent!! The TV programs are excellent/comprehensive, so are the utensils and cutleries. Furnishing is classy especially with the nice fireplace (studio room). Excellent location: Near to the happening Castro busiest area; just right beside Castra Muni/train station.
Somewhat too dark; lack of natural lighting. The shower curtain railing is in dire need of change. No bathroom slippers provided. No safe deposit box.
Loved the whole apartment - the attention to detail was fab. Admin was very good too.
Don't really know if this is a negative! It did take a long time to get to Downtown and Fisherman's Wharf on the tram. However it was fun getting there that way. Also if we hadn't chosen Casa Luna and specifically Castro as a place to stay we probably would not have gone to the Castro Theatre - and we all loved it.
