sitting area not very comfortable, at least in the studio and steps makes it difficult to access apartment for anyone with physical limitations
location to public transportation
It was a bit pricey, especially for no daily cleaning service, but then again so is San Francisco in general.
The Carriage house is just beautiful!! The apartment is huge with all the facilities one would expect at home (tv, wifi, telephone, iron, hair-dryer etc) and all the little extra personal touches like quality bathroom suppplies and a little healthy snack in the kitchen for when you arrive. The location is excellent, by the beautiful and vivid Castro street and in between Castro and Mission colourful areas, and right next to the Muni Metro Station and the F street car line.
This apartment was amazing, we couldn't fault it at all. The location was great, the facilities were great. Overall, such a nice place for a group of friends to stay
The design was amazing. The location beautiful, and the comfort and overall feel was just excellent. I highly recommend this place both for business purposes and holidays.
Noisy neighbours, thin walls
Great location, clean and comfortable .
If i have to mention, two minor things: the lock at the entrance is hard to manage ( read other peoples comments) and the apartment is starting to worn out a bit... But just being picky...
The apartment is lovely. Full of little derails and surprises and extremely convenient. Steps away from muni/ local transport station. Lots of space at the right price. Go without hesitation
Seperate car park, especially raining season
Oven was so hard to operate-gave up on it. Very steep stairs for our 79 year old mom.
So welcoming and gracious-so many wonderful little touches. I don't want to list them and give away the many delightful little surprises. Lovely, colorful neighborhood with terrific restaurants. Loved it!
Nothing was bad
This is a beautiful well apportioned property. We loved it. I could live here!
The ensuite toilet was a bit temperamental
Location was excellent and the house itself immaculate and homely
Bathroom is tiny and the shower head is too low even for me that I am 1,78. Not a big issue though.
Casa Luna has a perfect location,Two steps from Castro MUNI station. My wife and i stayed at The Studio,a cosy little apartment.
Very clean and comfortable. Great location.
We were locked out of the apartment when we arrived due to having the wrong door code. Since the rental office is in another location, it took an hour or so to get the right code by phone.
The gay community in Castro is fixing up the original architecture of the area giving it a very unique atmosphere. We celebrated my daughters sweet 16 birthday at Orphan Andy's, our favorite diner near the apartment. The apartment was great, and we would love to go back sometime.
Furniture is starting to show some wear - particularly the sofa and master bedroom night stands - this is an easy fix, so not sure why they have been neglected.
The location to the Castro is second to none! Beautiful views and comfortable, king bed . . . . soaring high ceilings!
Not a thing.
Central and colourful location, near to transport connections which provide a quick trip into the city. The house as everything you could possibly need or want. Much better than central city hotels because it felt like being in a community albeit for the short period we were there.
Fantastic accommodation, great kitchen, short walk to cable car. It was an absolute delight after spending 20 hours in transit to arrive at such a lovely apartment with my wife and three young children.
location slightly out of town didn't feel too safe out at night - would not have gone out alone. (a lot of beggars
lovely touches like fruit in bowl, cheese and crackers. kitchen beautiful and well equipped
small bathroom - towels don't dry broken crib a window lock was broken
kitchen location books and movies wifi is fast parking garage was easy clean
Quiet, convenient location in the Castro. We stayed in a charming and very well-appointed carriage house apartment with full kitchen and in-unit washer/dryer. The beds were extremely comfortable. Lovely garden and private patio. A great value.
Hassle free, and close to muni, buses and BART. The room had a great kitchen to cook and entertain from. Good layout and no sterile hotel feel. A homely gem in SF.
Slightly musty smell as basement flat.
Excellent location away from Downtown SF which we liked.
The stairs to go to the flat when carrying heavy luggages and the absence of parking place
A very luxuous flat, very well located and extremely comfortable. Maybe better for a couple with one kid than with two grown up teenagers but still excellent.
The bath requires renovation
We got the Studio apt. It was very convenient. Debbie was kind enough to offer us also another apt across the garden as we assumed wrongly, the Studio can cater 4 people.
No one responded to calls/messages on emergency numbers--do not bother with Debbie, the manager--she is terribly unhelpful. She sent us the incorrect access code, and if it wasn't for our local friends we would never have known and would have been, literally, on the street with small children at 1:30 in the morning when we were due to arrive after a long day of travel. When we finally did make contact with her she could not have cared less and when her grave error was discovered by the very helpful general manger, Wyatt, (excellent service from him) we never received an apology from her. Debbie, in our opinion, is a liability. Cleanliness could have been better (especially as all guests are charge a $150 cleaning fee.) Dirty cupboards and drawers and smelly bathroom cupboards; dirty laundry closet; several bottles of old, past their sell by date condiments in the fridge and cupboards; duvet and pillow covers had not been washed and smelled used. House plants needed some love and attention--perhaps better to remove.
They have established a great balance between a home away from home and the freshness of a hotel. We did not feel like we were borrowing someone's home (which we would not have liked), but were very relaxed in a cosy space (much nicer than a hotel suite.) Very good amenities including super WiFi, laundry facilities, free land line, gorgeous location, super master bed with excellent closet space and good appliances.
Curtain in the master bedroom should keep out more light,
Appartement was top, we payed 1150 us for three nights, and stayed with 5 people.
