Location Location Location!!!
Room Service , Staff knowledge and ability,
Loved the location. Walking distance to great dining, shopping and views of the bay.
If you rely heavily on internet the free wifi is very slow. This was not a big issue for us. Getting a car from the valet can be slow when they get busy. If you call ahead this can be avoided.
Location and view
Professional and friendly service above and beyond from valet, reception to service people. Comfort, view and peacefulness.
Friendliness of woman who checked us in
We had a courtyard room And the fans from the laundry were very noisy
The problem we had was our desire to spend at the low rung of Casa Madrona. I did not like the split level room. The upper level was incredibly cramped, although the bathroom was spacious. The decor reflected a male businessman taste, dark, masculine colors and textures. The long business desk was old and chipped, very depressing. Dust on the stairway. Would have preferred lighter, holiday, vacation decor.
Location was great. Close by restaurants and the ferry. Good atmosphere and staff very good. We did enjoy the balcony and the view.
Bathroom in room 306 was microscopic. Walls very thin and could hear conversations in adjoining rooms.
the staff was incredible. From the moment we drove in the car and gave the keys to the valet we knew we were in good hands. The delightful young lady in reception was very courteous, helpful and professional. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Room with a nice view on the bay, well located
No lobby or lounge, no confortable place to have a drink, wifi connection weak
The room, a hillside cottage, was beautifully decorated and had an incredible balcony! We could have stayed in our room for hours, watching the boats go by. The bathroom wasn't large, but updated very nicely. The location could not have been more perfect, and it's easy to get on the freeway from the hotel. It's a great place to stay!
The only thing that wasn't perfect was that the people at the reception desk were a little ditzy when we checked in, but in the end, it was fine.
i liked the small balcony with a view! We enjoyed the fireplace, wine, chocolates for our anniversary!
We expected a wider view from our room from the pictures on the web!
I booked on line at a lower rate than charged. Approx. $260 on line, $319 when I checked out plus all the taxes and sur-charges almost $400 per night. Plus I was charged for 5 nights valet at $24 a night when I only used it once. You removed those charges.
We loved the hotel The room was very comfortable, great view from the balcony and a super bathroom. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Sausalito is also great , can't wait to go back.
Wendy was excellent. She was very helpful with extending our booking and with providing us with local information, reserving a table for dinner etc.
In the first room there were steep stairs within the apartment leading upto the bedroom, which was a little awkward with our suitcases. The decor was a little dated.
Location in the middle of charming town, view, very good restaurant in the main building, comfortable mattress, clean.
Old building with poor soundproofing and squeaky floors, constant smell of chlor containing desinfectants in the room. No breakfast at the hotel, staff's recommendations for breakfast didn't include all options around. "Free valet for hotel guests" sign turned out to be $25 per day parking/valet fee in the bill. Sofa bed for children was old, squeaky and uncomfortable.
Wonderfull view on the bay. Very relaxing stay with high quality service.
This is a fantastic hotel. The location in Sausalito is great. The staff is friendly, helpful and professional. The rooms are perfect! We had the root floor corner facing the harbor. Fantastic views that we could enjoy from the balcony, the bed, and even the bathroom! We will definitely be back!
View and location and proximity to restaurants. Privacy and tranquility most importantly staff was awesome... Very friendly and attentive.
TV had technical problems. Staff responded promptly. Problem (pixelating) continued till second day then it self corrected
Staff are exceptional. In particular Ana? I was trying to make sure I got her name but not sure it is correct sorry! I heard her repeatedly going out of her way to help guests. Room was spacious, with a beautiful view and large comfy bed.
The coffee machine! The fact that this is all I have to complain about should say something :-)
The staff, particularly Wendy on the front desk and Matt the bell boy went out of their way to make us feel welcome. When Wendy found out we had gotten married the day before she sent up a gift to the room which made our stay. The view from room 312 was good and very private but you could hear other guests clearly. The balcony got the sun in the morning which was lovely to wake up to. The room had a fire place so in the winter this would be very romantic and cosy. They give you the option of many different pillows which was nice but the bed for me was to soft. It was nice there was a fridge in the room and a coffee maker.
There is no free parking. You need to pay $25 a day and it soon mounts up. The spa and sauna closes at 6 so if you get back from a long hike after 6 don't expect a steam. The toilets on floor 2 where dirty and the trash can over flowing with paper. It is expensive and breakfast is not included.
Staff were absolutely superb. Couldn't have been more helpful about the hotel and surrounding area. Location superb. Room comfortable and spacious.
Cabinet housing fridge/television etc was poorly thought out making it impossible to use coffee/tea facilities without moving them and nowhere else to put them other than on the floor!
The location is great. It has great character
Its is heavily overpriced and they do not conform to the Booking.com method of payment. Valet parking is an annoying extra.
Love this hotel. Great location, but the entire staff is so anxious to take care of your needs. I was especially pleased with Wendy. She went out of her way to take care of us. The type of room we had requested was not available when we arrived. We received an upgrade plus a free breakfast . We have a family there and we will make sure we stay at the Casa Madrona in all future trips.
The hotel needs to be more specific about access to the hillside cottages.
Our room, 620, had a stunning view. The staff was wonderful.
The 96 steps to get to room 620 is a killer for older people!
